  1. November 9, hmm I have to have mine running by the first weekend of november so I might be able to come that friday night! I would rather a morning sesh though, Neil at QR was looking into making a 1 day matsuri would be good I reckon still not as good as the weekend but still would be a lot of fun and a lot of time on track.
  2. Wreckers didn't have anything except for panels and the engine itself.
  3. Ill ask tomorrow arv at work, will probably hear back from me late tomorrow or midnight tomorrow when I get home from work.
  4. Yeah mate is over there atm pretty cheap genuine wheels!
  5. I know someone that will have some 20 springs but brisbane northside. Let me know Ill ask him tomorrow at work.
  6. I meant I already have a flexalite fan from the states suppose to be one of the best, high CFM. Ill ask how much for the fans too if they still have them for you. Also Ill probably end up going with the glass flares on mine for now instead of those guards I got off you, a bit much work and I need to get the car driving asap, haha.
  7. Yeah, they just fit inbetween the rails from my measurements and you can see why they're like they are when you look at the front of the celicas. I've already got a fan but still need a overflow and some mounts for it, found one wrecking on gumtree so ill just give them a ring tomorrow and see what they want for those bits if they still have them or see if there's any overflows at work, haha.
  8. Sounds like it will haul, they aren't too bad even in a heavy camry so will be awesome in a little corolla! How many hoses have to go to the overflow tank on the celica radiator, was it hard to mount? I have a sr20 one I was going to use but it's a bit too tall and I already have enough clearance issues, haha.
  9. I don't think I have ever seen zip ties used to mount an engine anywhere ever, I don't know if you're serious but yeah. haha.
  10. Sweet I just ordered some for my hilux diff, wonder if it's worth sending my old ones back for the $34 core charge fro both, haha.
  11. Where did you get the calipers done? Or bought them like that?
  12. Exactly why I said would require lots of mods but it is doable if you absolutely love that car and have a lot of money, they didn't specify how much they wanted to spend...
  13. Defiantly street registrable, just depends if you probably have to re engineer it as an ICV with a lot of body/chassis mods, or may be able to be regoed without but doubt it. A fair bit of work to get it to fit, depends what box you use as well weather tunnel needs modding as well.
  14. I would just do the hilux diff straight up, you can get supra rear brakes to bolt on.
  15. Yeah I might do the ones on the T18 if I end up keeping it.
  16. S13 rear end fits alright in rear of ke70, alot of work though.
  17. That 4age one looks like a smaller one, 14mm head. I have HEAPS of them from work. the bigger ones 17/19mm head are obviously bigger.
  18. Yeah it's a close fit, could probably just undo gearbox mount and lift that up a bit. But it will be an engine out job to do a clutch, no room in tunnel to pull box back far enough as has an extension on the input shaft for spigot bearing. Although I reckon you could have the engine out and do a clutch and back in, in half a day pretty easy. Anyway, some things are a real pain in the ass the first time round Reed. Like you said next time would take a 1/4 of the time.
  19. Airbags are illegal in QLD or might not be but if they are legal from what ive heard theyre a pain to get mod plated. And you'll get defected for them not just ride height.
  20. Sounds fun, I have to pull my engine out to get steering rack out by the looks of it now, haha.
  21. Don't think any corolla of that era came out with one, it would just have been a really clean install. No problem welding a tank if it's cleaned out properly.
  22. Yeah they come out in heaps of cars I got mine from a celsior. Just to give you an idea about how a v8 sit in these old corollas, I would assume that a ke30 bay is a bit smaller though. But I would try and get my hands on a bare engine or something and get stuck into it really, haha. No point sitting on the computer all day looking for how to get it in there best way is to just go for it, trial and error. One thing as well if I don't put in a whole new tunnel will be an engine out job to do a clutch as not enough room to slide the box back, but the way I made everything else, to pull the engine and box out and do a clutch should only take a half a day if that so no worse than doing a clutch on an evo which mitsubish quote 14hrs to do one, haha.
  23. Here are some pictures of my 1uz I put in my T18 this weekend. Only major mods needed to fit it are the tunnel and rh bank exhaust manifold Measured up the 1uz with mates 355 stroker 308 and the 1uz isn't that much bigger size, actually they're nearly the same I think the 1uz was just a bit taller too. Was easy to make up the mounts, the engine cost me nothing in the end even after spending $300 on new timing belt and water pump and other seals after I parted out a toyota celsior, everything for manual conversion cost about $1300 including gearbox and they usually make around 200hp at the wheels in standard form behind a manual. I have a hilux diff that I did the mounts on myself was easy and can get brackets for MA70 supra rear brakes which are big enough, with coilovers in the front and T3 4 piston wilwood brakes.
  24. Just stick to the commodores then... can build a competitive old commodore cheap.
