I bought a whole new carb from ebay USA for the price of a rebuild kit.

Depends if you just want to put new seals in, I did that with my corona as the piston was a bit sticky on one side so just pulled both apart and cleaned up the pistons and bores with emery tape and went back together and in the car easy, kit was pretty cheap from memory around $20-$30 from repco was just a PBR kit.

I actually had a look at the celica and it does look very nice, was just expessing an unwanted opinion a bit too much at that time, haha. Any progress on the rust? That would honestly be my first concern, even if it's just cleaning it up an boging it for the time being.

If you had the engine changed surely they would have tuned while it was running very little required to get it running well.

My 3t that was in my T18 went really good for what it was, just put a bigger carb on and exhaust and could get it going quite well.

So you ask for peoples opinions and then just ignore them? Like most people think the fender mirrors will look silly and people will probably laugh at you/anyone in the car. I can see this car being sticker bombed on 20's soon...

test light are cheap, or just get a multimeter also cheap.

Funnily enough for some reason at work we have a repair manual for a 1C and the CE70 corolla for some odd reason.

Mate from work was interested in this but didn't like the roof, haha. I'm not really a fan of the roof decal either but hey still looks alright, not sure what paint would be like underneath it though.

Rust doesn't matter for rwc in qld unless it's structural or an obvious danger, i.e hole in the floor or it would slice someone open if you hit them.

I wouldn't bother with the rust at all, just paint over it and find a better shell.

I've welded both my diffs my old T series and now my hilux diff, t series worked fine. I welded everything I could and then put in a plate to make it even stronger.

Yeah I hate waiting for sea mail, it's usually 6-8 weeks as the boat sits on the docks for 2 weeks so depending on if it gets sent when the boat is about to leave or when it just gets back to port depends how long, air freight is usually a week I got something sent on Saturday from japan and got it Monday!

I'd rather put in a newer diesel, 1kd are ok engine, make decent tourque but if you wanted a boat anchor may as well go an old 350 chev for the cheaper.

And all good :) Mucked around with the plug for fusible link cause I tested it and had power both sides so must have just been a dodgy connection. Thank ʞ©$ɟ! Thats all good now thank you and I hope it stays this way, now to tackle the rust :)

Had a closer look at wiring on the switch and all looks good, ill check the fusible link tomorrow hopefully thats the problem and then I can go and do some more work on the white T18 and then go have a look at another car later on that might need some work, haha.

where are these? I'll have a look tomorrow, ended up getting new relay and not the problem, unsure about the headlight switch but then park lights probably wouldn't work then or maybe the indicators.

Bought a new T18 last night and found out that the headlights don't work, now I tested the relay and is fine, the fuses are fine, the headlight switch I think is fine? as I had another one from my other T18 an it did the same but it was pretty average as it's been sitting around getting thrown around. Wireing appears to be fine, not getting power to fuses or relay so I would think it's the wiring, if anyone has any more ideas help! haha. EDit, Horn and hazard lights aren't working as well, I hate electrical problems! If anyone wants to swap for a mechanical problem I will certainly do that!, haha. Another edit: all wiper functions and park lights operate fine.
