  1. Where do you live mate? Looks nice over there!
  2. Pretty sure you should defiantly be able to get them from toyota because I can still get them for my T18, probably have to come from Japan though but should still be able to get them.
  3. I am using hilux diff, with a 5 speed richmond gearbox from states, close ratio with 1:1 5th gear. Suspension is just coilovers front with T3 wilwood brake setup modded steering arms with rose jointed adjustable lcas. Also have ma70 supra rear brakes on hilux diff.
  4. Fair enough although I did my diff myself with only what I have learned practicing , although my hilux diff didn't feel like it wieghed much more than a ke70 borg warner. Do corona struts give positive camber without longer lcas? if so maybe supra coilovers they run bigger brakes only just fit 14's over them when I had some.
  5. Nice, pics of engine mounted? does yours have steering box or rack? I am doing 1uz on my TE72 as well (well T18 here in aus) but mine is the 2 door liftback version. about half way with my conversion, got all suspension, diff, brakes and sttering sorted, just got engine to mount, gearbox and roll cage and few other little bits and peices, got the engine for free too!
  6. Ant from Kazian? garage can do the hilux conversion, and there are caliper brackets ready to bolt on MA70 supra rear brakes which is what I am running they are actually the tinyest bit bigger than the wilwood front brakes I have, 5mm bigger but about 2 maybe 4mm thinner vented rotor and still fit under 15's. Might be worth thinking about hilux diff? I have just welded my diff for the time being but there are plenty of LSD's out there and whole thing including buying the jig to do mounts cost me $900 but I can resell the jig for what I paid for it. But that depends on if you can do the mounts yourself. I also saw a very nice ke70 panno sell for 6k with 4age good paint, suspension ect, only ke70 I have seen sell for more than that was a track ke70 with built sr20, mine should have cost around 10k to build my car with full cage with close ratio gear box, also including the cost of the car.
  7. That seems excessive cost for what was performed on that service, but then I wouldn't be paying anyone to do all that, oil and filter service on one of these plus your oil flush shouldn't be any more than $140 or so unless you use the best oil money can buy, tyres are worth about $45 ea plus about $10-$15 fitting each, front pads are cheap as for these and don't need the best I got new RDA pads and rotors for $70 and then probably about an hour to fit them so around $70-anywhere over $100. And car only really worth what someone will pay for it, but probably around $1000 maybe more or less depending on how much rust is in it.
  8. I think it may be the ones on ebay that show the picture of a vented rotor but in the listing says it is a solid rotor. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-T-18-TE-72-SE-79-83-Front-Slotted-Disc-Brake-Rotors-RDA148S-/190637482183?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c62e120c7
  9. Will probably be ae86 rotors never heard of vented T18 rotors. Mine and any other of the maybe 10 T18s I know of don't have vented rotors.
  10. T18 do not have vented rotors available (unless ae86 vented rotors fit with thinner brake pads like when using ADM ae86 calipers) and are around the same size as ADM AE86 brakes.
  11. Takes about 5-10 minutes to bench bleed a master cylinder, including removing and installing it.
  12. I did my diff myself was easy, I have a jig for a hilux diff though so made it all line up and weld did all the welding myself as well. Otherwise I think I got a couple of quotes ranging from about $450 if I cut the mounts off and they just used the jig they already had made and about $650 if they did everything, another place wanted about $800 as they had to make a jig up but said they could do it.
  13. Cost the same for a YZZE1 I am pretty sure there are those and another larger Japanese made genuine filter made that also fits K motors, T series engines are YZZD2 or same as currant model hilux diesels.
  14. There are 2 types of DX flat front there are the ones like my T18 which are also TE72's, then there are later model DX fronts which is the one you put a picture up of Reed which have a slightly longer headlight and then there are the quad light ones. Also TE72's were released here in Australia just re badged as the T18, oversea's markets got 4 soor TE72 with 2or3TC, unsure if any came out with 2TG. Matt (LRS) probably knows more about the series 2 DX front.
  15. Whats a filter worth anyway, never bought a non gen filter.
  16. Ive locked my hilux diff for the T18 (untill I can afford an LSD or something breaks in it haha) but its track only and will be getting towed to track anyway. Had one in the T18 when I started getting rid of bits that I didn't need for the engine conversion so I sold my lsd and just locked the T series, wasn't too bad honestly and when I eventually got defected and took the car off the road the cop didn't even hear it haha.
  17. You need to go over the whole car and check over everything! haha. Also what was your rant about after my post about just doing the struts yourself?
  18. Yeah, ive done it all in my T18 and know of a few others that have done it as well so not a new conversion...
  19. Yeah there were some of the higher end models came out with central locking, and its not a just simple install, well it is if you know what you're doing.
  20. Exactly, the better the car looks the less picky they generally are. If its a shit job they will just look for stuff to pick out on the car.
  21. The sparco I have is actually a very good size, not made for someone born in japan, haha. But yeah the factory type recaro seats are also great as Dave suggested. One of my mates just recently put AW11 mr2 seats in his T18 with very little modding I think he just enlarged one of the holes slightly or something.
  22. Should just do it all yourself, not hard to cut and weld the struts.
  23. Had Monzas, hated them. Swapped them for celica seats were out of either a ra40 or 60 unsure but were comfy, sat lower than std seats and look factory. Then I bought a very good condition 2nd hand sparco seat from a ex rally car for $100 still have it now just fabbed up some rails myself not hard at all, and actually not too bad over a long drive to be honest.
  24. Yeah ive seen them before, for $50 you get what you pay for but if its just a car that isn't being thrashed at all! It should be fine.
