  1. Wow that was a bad hit!
  2. You should be able to use the auto tensioner just measure what size belt you have and the amount of ribs on the belt and that may still let you use it without modding anything, this is how I plan on doing it with the 1uz as it looks like it won't need any extra pulleys put on too :)
  3. Actually yes, starlets are quite good, mate from work picked one up for 1k with rego left on it! still runs great, has a/c no ps though but a higher model should have ps though!
  4. Old rwd S engines seem alright but must just be the rav's that come in to work that put me off them, oh and the ones with side steps!
  5. Should have left the paint how it was, and needs a old side valve engine or an old toyota hemi V8 or something like that :)
  6. Older rav 4's are crap IMO just the old S engine just feel like they want to go bang if you give it too them the slightest. Can get Dihatsu feroza's reasonably cheap they seem pretty good from what ive seen, nearly bought one instead of the T18! Lucky I didn't though :)
  7. Genuine filter, not usually much more than a non gen.
  8. yep that will do fine :)
  9. They will probably be too wide as well or they will fit but be too bulky for the car. I picked up 2 comfortable bucket seats cheap one sparco and one bride.
  10. About an hour for all 4 corners if you have all the right tools and know what to do :)
  11. Tryed pressing them in?
  12. I have heard of using a 4y? crank in them to bring them to 2.2 or 2.4L or something but not sure what pistons they use with that.
  13. Hopefully one should come into work for a first service inspection :) And I test drive will be had :) I drive cars at work all day with fly by wires I prefer the feel of a cable but they honestly don't bother me, oh and if they ever get stuck on you can just turn the key off you know ;) Old camrys have a habit if you put yhe throttle wide open the cable kinks and stays on so cables aren't perfect either, haha.
  14. Just tell everyone to report it and see what happens. But if your stupid enough to bid without looking and then do as he says at the bottom of the listing and pay in full with paypal, well... Also looks as if he has turned the caps lock off.
  15. Gearbox's are easy to pull apart not much too them really.
  16. Yep need a ke70 crossmember I am sure nearly anyone you ask will swap you for your old one :)
  17. Ive had mine on stands for ages as well, even lifted the front up nearly a meter off the ground to get the engine out from underneath cause I didn't have enough room to use a engine crane, but even then the car was that light could get 3 people to lift it up off the stands, haha.
  18. You will not get a accurate price on your car through a website, I have heard of people getting insurance through shannons and they can inspect and value the car as well.
  19. Maybe find stuff like that in the states but you may find some old stock in australia.
  20. Yeah make sure its nearly on empty! At work a fair few of new toyotas require the fuel tank replaced when the fuel filter is replaced and pretty much now if they are anything over half full we pretty much just say that we won't do it till it is nearly empty but not completely empty as then there will not be enough fuel to put back in, haha.
  21. You may be able to find strut tops for a KE55 otherwise when people do conversions in the ke70/ae86 they normally use the S13 or 180sx camber tops as it generally only requires the holes to be drilled out a bit, ke70 ect are not an equilateral triangle so they might be different to your ke55 ones.
  22. Left an o ring out or was an o ring swollen? there is one we replace at work when we replace the filter not necessary but just a precaution. If your local I could pop round and have a look if you want mate.
  23. Do you need to have all of that to compete!? Thats why I love QR, don't even need shoes! haha.
  24. I only want to have spent 10k all up on car and my conversion (already have suspension, brakes, and everything but engine conversion sorted), so only have about 5k to spend on engine conversion but I got the engine for free, box setup is a bit under 3k for my conversion, $1000 max for cage, diff should be about $300, $250 for paint and rust repairs, and then the random stuff that is involved in any conversion, so will be very tight but should be able to squeeze it in there.
  25. Anyone in brisbane PM me if you need genuine oil filters a E1 is about $12 I think to me a D2 that I used on my 3t was about $14 maybe couple of bucks more not sure. If you want me to get some would probably be better off getting a few at once.
