Medicine_Man Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 Just using normal high-tensile bolts, Will get some pictures for you on the weekend.. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted May 5, 2007 Author Report Posted May 5, 2007 Here are some photos of how bad the gasket was last weekend when I replaced it.. Quote
munki Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 I would check your extractors/inlet for warping the problem continues Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 (edited) Get yourself hold of a permaseal 1 piece gasket. they're actually listed in Lukey catelogues as "extractor gaskets" and they're a shite load better than those crappy ACL 2 piece things. The worse thing about them is were the the 2 gaskets but up on the double exhaust port area (were you've got some major chaf there), and when you up your exhaust temps a hundred degree or so, they only tend to last a couple of weeks. :S the 1 piece permaseals normally last me around 6 months now! :hmm: Plus at bursons were I buy my gaskets......ACL 2 piece - $15, permaseal 1 piece - $8. Not a real hard decision I think!! Edited May 5, 2007 by Taz_Rx Quote
Medicine_Man Posted May 5, 2007 Author Report Posted May 5, 2007 Thanks for your input guys, but it looks like the new gasket, replaced bolt and loctite has solved my problems.. Quote
Trev Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 Good to see its running again Justin, Hopefully you will be on the next cruise. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted June 12, 2007 Author Report Posted June 12, 2007 Lucky I didn't go on the cruise on the weekend, Found out on the weekend that my alternator had shit itself again (When trying to jump start my sprinter). Turns out it was a dry solder joint on one of the stator leads. Ended up upgrading it yet again from 55A > 80A while I had it apart.. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 The bitch snapped the accelerator cable today on the way home from work, Luckily it wasn't far from work where it happened. Managed to re-connect the cable and zip tie the mount back to the rocker cover to get the car back to work. Drove the work laser home, Will sort it tomorrow.. Zip Ties For The Win!!! Quote
