  3. if you can grab yourself a ae71 gearbox crossmember that might help you out a bit. That you grab your old k series one, drill new holes and cut the excess off. Looks m in t
  4. looking good mate! nice to see its still ticking on.
  5. this is kyle's old one isnt it? Such a cool little car. Run into some issues on the way home did ya?
  6. i had one in a stock keto, and since one in a keto jap 86 brake setup. Decent upgrade for both setups.
  7. cheers man, um yeah i don't run a external thermostat setup on my smallport, so I'm just going to hook it in where the factory one was at this stage...
  8. hey guys, pretty easy one, just after the size of the thread etcetc of the 4age/4ac water temp, the thing that goes screws in at the front of the motor cause I need a bung to fit an aftermarket temp gauge. need to know asap. cheers,
  9. hey guys, theres I guy I know whos quite a famous guy within the 86 circles for his wiring. hes an ae86dc guy, but goes fantastic work. my loom looks 100% factory, clean and no issues. you could hit him up, see if hes interested in making up a loom for you, then its just plug in and play.
  10. I have seen a few sets imported for slant noses. I'd say they are hard to find. An alternative ive seen that looks fairly decent is Holden Gemini Chrome bars made to fit. can't remember the model but they're fairly accessible.
  11. i have a similar issue man, not really sure myself.
  12. lil piccy playing cars with a mate today sorry for the shitty quality
  13. theres a ke70 auto to manuel thread from one of the main guys on here, i used it as a guide for getting the thing out, then like rian said you need to drill the holes etc. Can i recommend using a sheet steel template, so you can line up the holes without any flex from cardboard etc (i did this my first time and my holes were slightly out.) oh and a good quality hole saw.
  14. if you can be bothered, jump on dc, look in the ke70 builds section a guy did this, either with a panno or wagon, can't remember.
  15. good buy man, you wont be disappointed with that setup.
  16. ahh i was just about to open a thread about this... Cheers! wouldnt have a pick of how you mounted it would ya?
  17. identical mechanically. only difference will be it'll have a higher ratio, which means your car will accelerate marginally quicker, but rev higher on the freeway
  18. ha you've got a louvre without clips, ive got clips on my rear window without a louvre...
  19. pwoah man, that rust is like cancer! looks like a decent buy, but you might be better of getting a new shell!
  20. mmm there is kinda a loop hole you can take advantage of being a ae71 in NSW. Unsure of laws in WA, be them similar or disimilar, but basically, the car is remaining the same capacity, therefore arguably does not require engineering. You can get the engine number changed pretty easily (which i have done in my car), as like you mention the engine numbers do not so much indicate whether it is an original motor being so similar. So whilst legally it may not be 100%, if you change the numbers, when a cop pulls you over, which I have done, and everything checks out, unless hes a mechanic in his past life, and he knows its not the right motor, chances are you'll get away with it.. Having said that, if you keep the car clean, and the install cleaner, you may never have a problem at all.
