I now have the car complete, Just need the ram tubes for the intake. I'm a bit worried that today after i finished putting it back together as i had the engine and gearbox out AGAIN yesturday to fix a oil leak in the gearbox, While i was refilling the radiator and running it to remove any air blocks, it seemd to take for ever to a point that the engine was getting very hot but the temp was saying about 25 deg, there must have been a air block in the thermostat housing, I hope i didnt overheat the engine. i pulled the thermostat out to make sure all was ok, but it back together again and went for a drive the temp got to 90+ about 75 is the usual temp on the ECU hand set. I then puller the thermostat out again and bought a new one and lost the bloody rubber ring, ive put the thermostat back without the ring so the thermostat moves around in the housing Anyway here are some more pics Remote thermostat housing Now back to the gearbox, its been getting a little noisy, dumped out the oil yesturday and it was lovely and sparkely Metalic brown. once i drove it today it now wont go into gears, double clutch is about the only it will change gears and it rattles under load, Guess its time for a new one of those now.

I know how you feel, I bought a BRAND new car almost 12 months ago my wife drives it, it has a door dent in every single panel, it was reversed into 3 weeks after buying by a truck, Its also got a 3 cm long dent/scratch on the bonnet, god knows how that got there. Ive just given up, I will never buy another NEW car and I'm not ever going to spend heaps on body/paint work ever again. People have no care/respect for other peoples property. ive been so angry that if i had see the car that had done the damage i would have kicked their door in, even my wife was scared when ive seen some of the dents.

hahahah you guys and you low cars, and here is me fitting 8, yes boys and girls 8 leafs in each side, i also use a top leaf of the other pack i used and cut off the ends and flipping the original 2nd spring from the top, it lowered the car a bit but the spring pack stays just off flat, i found the otherway just flipping made the spring bend the wrong way and i have heaps of axle tramp. and its nice and stiff but doesnt give that bounce.

you have met me, i own the house that has the collection of rollas, the one you stopped at once and asked if any of the rollas where for sale. my brothers white KE70, TY's white AE71 and green KE30, my red kE30, but the one up the driveway you havent seen is the silver and black KE30 that had a supercharger 2T-GEU but now has a 4AGE 20 Valve. I will be bring it to the next meeting. Ive also got a Rolla club sticker for you too.

April 30 campbell town at Noon on the main strip Plan: The plan is basically to goto Campbell town at about 12 noon in the main strip near the park. Meet up with anyone from launie. Then head from there east-ward to Swansea. Stop off there have some lunch, have a break have a bit of a drink take some photos. After that north and south can go there own ways. Hobart will most likely travel via orford through some twisty roads. Then we can stop in hobart at Hungry Jacks town if anyone is interested in grabbing some tea! Try bring as many Video cameras and normal still cameras as possible to capture some god photos!

The turbo manifold turned up, it was a 20V manifold as i had thought and not a 16V one as advertised. Just need the turbo now

YAY, its working, Drove it today after a full days work on it, The induction noise with out the air box is huge. didnt even take it over 4000rpm.

looking at the dash, i don't think its a factory tocho, its a celica tacho an its totaly diffrent to the speedo and the numbers seem to be a little close to the edge surround. does it have a fuel and temp guage? but it looks good, i like the seats. its a later model than my new red coupe.

today the 20V took its first breath in the new car, 20V's are very loud without a exahust, I have made some extractors that a 4 into 1 with a 3.5 collector so you could imagine the noise. they would look better if i cleanned up the welds but can't be bothered for now. most of the wiring is done and the modified water outlet just behind the alt. i need to find a remote thormostat and ill fit the radiator and water piping. I think it will still be another week before i get to drive it.

Ive done the RA40 struts into my KE30 from what i see they are the same, you need the streering arm of the bottom of the RA as well as the lower control arm.

Well the 20V is here and sitting in the engine bay. Oh i can't wait till i hear those quads. more updates soon

Sad day, engine is out Empty space soon to be filled with a 20 Valve. And another rolla to add to the collection. run out of room in the drive way, so i have to park it out side, so here is the factory immobiliser.

Bolt on spacers are safe, the slip on spacers make the threads shorter for the wheel nuts, thats not safe, but bolt on spacers are fine. Replace struts? have not heard of that one, ive run +40 FWD off set on my KE70 with 25mm bolt on spacers on the front to clear the struts. if the bolt on spacers are dangerous wheel fitters are in trouble, when my wheels where put on my pulsar where i bought them, spacers where needed and fitted bey them not me :P

I would be there in my rolla but I'm selling the current motor and ill only have 3 days for the engine conversion to the 20V as it will be here on the wednesday, that isnt going to happen. I was going to do a hill climb on sunday, but i hope to be halfway through the conversion by then.

304 Stainless steel, looks lovely doesnt it.

ive fixed the axle tramp  its now got 8 leafs in each rear spring and its nice and tight, still have to put in the sway bar. Oh and the big news today is ive paid for my 4AG 20V engine, will be here next wednesday. Bellhousing turned you monday and i pay for the extractors tomorrow so they should be here early next week too. Ill be working torwards turbo it very soon so i got one of these too. But I'm still not sure what size turbo to run yet. I had my eye on a hybrid t3/t04 but maybe a little too big.Yes i did say extractors earlier, ill be running it while i look for the turbo and other parts.

ke30nuts: Not sure i understand, are you saying the 2T-Geu manifold will fit the 2T or 3T head or are they all the same? ive never had anything to do with the 3T pushrod engine, but i have been folowing a US build up of a starlet with a 3T Here is the link to the manifold setup Manifold this was the basis for my comment, maybe the US head is diffrent again, who knows roids70 maybe it will be better to locate one you can borrow to try.

as i said ive now got one in my ke30, but didnt say that it is a supercharged 2T-GEU with a huge intercooler infront of it and I'm also circuit racing, because i thought you might have already know what i drive, but thats ok :jamie: I still am not using the fan on the track, i do use the fan entering the pits for about 5 min to cool it enough for the next race because of heat soak.
-
I maybe wrong but i don't think they make efi for a 3tc engine. so its going to be custom. SU carbs work well enough. get a 2" one if you can find it, but ive seen 350 holly's etc used too

Gee i wish i had more time to go through these forums. Biggo. Ive been running VP commo radiators in all my rollas, my ke30 i have now and my ke70, easy fit. I can tell you even single core they work much better than the standard radiator. in 3 years ive never run a fan, the ke70 was a 4k and no problem in summer even driving through town. NO fan. doing a burnout for about 200 meters at 5000rpm got it to about 90 ish deg and as soon as it got moving again dropped back to 83 deg (thats where is sits normal according to the ECU) NO fan. ebay they go cheap for the VN-VS etc I paid $90 new wholesale for them :locked: so really the radiator shop should be able to supply you with one for $190 RRP

i moved my first reply to roids70 question to his thread so not to hijack your thread too much. you don't get boost at idle because you have a carb on the intake of the blower and on idle there is no air going through to boost (well a tiny bit for idle), mine has nothing but a air cleaner in the intake of the blower, so when the blower starts it sucks maximum air and makes around 5 psi at 1500 rpm.

I thought id put this in you thread as you asked the question The supercharger is designed to have the throttlebody before, I will work better that way. If your thinking of a carby blow through good luck, i tried it and kept blowing the accelerator pump top rubber on the carb like a baloon and covering the engine bay with fuel, I know your saying it works with turbos, yes it does but the throttle is open the engine is taking the air, with the supercharger low revs is still boosting where the turbo isnt and even with mine I'm getting 2 to 3 psi just of idle, imagine that being restricted by the butterfly in the base of the carb, where is that boost going to go?, the accelerator pump and gaskets on the carb. Draw through is the best way if you have to use a carb for a supercharger. EFI for your 3T isnt going to be easy either.
