  1. Its almost done. I have just finished mounting the SC12 Supercharger. Next i have to make brackets for the intercooler and plumb it. thought id share what i have is newyears weekend.
  2. you would just be pushing the valve open more and that means open longer. but a bigger cam doesnt do that, the end point of the lobe will be flatter or more peaked etc and off center opening the valve longer and maybe in a diffrent part of the piston stroke for the different effects. the vlave isnt pushed down further as there is a limit. People can have trouble with valves hitting pistons, thats because its opening in a diffrent part of the piston stroke (as above) or its not dialed in correctly Another reason is the spring will only compress to a point where it will bindup. Things stretch at higer revs as well as expand from heat etc thats why there are clearances.

  5. As this keeps going off topic, I'm not going to read it all. Rolla__Boy can you send me some pics of your SC14 on a K motor, Ive fitted plenty of SC12s but couldnt find/make room for a SC14. Also i don't agree with you when you say "I wouldn't bother with the SC12" Why? Will produce 10 PSI of boost all the way to 7000 rpm. Thats heaps for a K motor without spending heaps and thats why we are doing this in the first place coz its cheap. I'm saying that the extra cost, weight and engine drag on the engine wouldnt be worth the trouble of a SC14.
  6. Back to the Holden and Ford thing, I bet that Holden whatever is running a FORD 9" so why stop there. I have a friend here in tassie running a VB commodore EX commodore cup car running a Ford 351,toploader and 9" diff. We call it a forholdan. The car runs a 11.9 over thequater, has one neally every burnout comp, and does a 1 min 2 around simmons plains (Tassies race track) i think the V8 supercars are doing a 56 sec. Not bad for a complete home build.

  9. Yes the BIG Chrome 17" wheels on a little ke30 do pull a few lookers. Even to the point where ive had my car parked in town and have watched from the other side of the road people taking pics of it. :D . But i also have a set of 195x50x15 wheels and tires for racing and my bad attempt of drifting (practice makes perfect) and for helping my fuel economy. I would love some big dish wheels. But they cost way too much now, everything is FWD offset
  10. I don't think is a good idea going 18" wheels, 17" only just fit and it rides like shit with 40 profile tires and the big wheels weight heaps, also try getting RWD offset 18" to suit a KE30.

  13. Buy why? A 1ggte has been done into the KE30 etc corolla and isnt as much as a boat anker as a rb30, I would also think it would make more power than a rb30 too. People keep asking these questions about radical engines in these cars, ANY thing will fit, youll just have to modify a little more. Monster garage put a jet engine into a celica.

  16. Ive used a a cheap and a autometer A/F guage on the same sensor. there wasnt that much diffrence in readings, but i could have just been lucky, But they are NOT for tuning, these guages are a approx display, you should really use a wideband exhaust gas analyser.
  17. The VL and VL Turbo pumps are for Fuel injection not for carbie setups.

In my case i used EFI and the computer controlled everything timing wise. but to run safely with carb and normal dizzy, you SHOULD limit the amount of advance, as you may get detonation if you run high boost and high revs. My fuel pump was a EFI unit. The fuel pump will differ with draw through or blow through, Draw through you could use the standard pump or a low psi pump (4-5 psi) blow through youll need a higher PSI pump as youll need the fuel pressure higher than the supercharger boost, EG you run 10 PSI boost youll need 13-15psi fuel pressure.
  19. no 150 hp, no way, we are running 10 PSI, Yes it goes well but not that well, i would think we might be getting 80-90 HP from a 4K

  21. hmmm A12 I have one in my Datto 1200 ute, As most people know i LOVE my fuel injection, i wont use carbies i hate them. This weekend ive started making my EFI manifold for my A12 from scratch. Short runners big plenum and a 70mm throttlebody, I'm looking for revs over torque. ill keep you all posted and put up some pics when ive got alittle more to show if people are intrested. I know these are not Toyota or corolla, But it maybe information that can be use by others in the future. If this does work ok ill be trying the same for my brothers KE70 as the 4KE manifold is not good for revs and the 7KE are just too hard to get and cost to much.

  24. i would have thought they would be too wide for a corolla? My 2002 corolla seats are almost too wide in my ke30 the inside of the seat sit on the center console. I would have thought a falcon seat would be wider.
