  1. I'm looking at a camtech 608, 290deg adv duration, .453" lift. sound big enough? I want the idle almost rotary sounding choppy
  2. Ps. I'm keeping all the OG gear in the garage so it can be returned to 100% stock ifso desired. Exhaust, toyoglide, 3k etc..
  3. It's not going to be butchered but certainly not stock... It will keep stock appearance entirely but there will be a cranky little K engine lurking beneath the hood. Lowering and whitewalls is as far as cosmetics go.. Might respray it the factory white with black rear end soon.
  4. G'day everybody, I'm in the process of building a quick slap together 4K (because I already have the engine) for my ke20 for some summer cruising.. Over summer I am building a forged, boosted K engine to hopefully have ready by winter for racing season. My main objective is to have something that sounds pretty cranky, even if it's not if you know what I mean. I know it's only a 4k and it wont be fast anyway but I would like a cam with a VERY choppy idle and I'm also going to shave the head for 10:1 comp, throw in some valve springs, a weber and an exhaust. Don't really care if the cam isn't really suited as I said I'm mainly after the sound for hitting cruise spots in the summer.. So basically I'm asking what cam you guys have, what K engine and how does it sound/ perform? Would be excellent if people could throw some vids up of exhaust not and what not as well :) Ps. I'm not just a poser either, I'm serious when I say I'm building a quick K engine, I have owned numerous fast cars including vl turbos with 320rwkw, 270rwkw and an 11sec GTR (which a couple of people on this forum can vouch for) :)

  6. bud if you are happy to understeer in the wet when cornering, have a f@$kload of embarassing moments in car parks with comments like "hey your cars broken" being thrown left right and centre and rattle your car to pieces then do it.. I personally like them :) So I have a locker.

  8. G'day, I've just picked up a weber D6AV19A apparently off a 2L escort for 85 bucks off ebay. Could someone tell me if this is suitable for my 4k with big cam, springs etc? I notice that alot of people use the DGV, is this one much different?? Any help appreciated. Cheers
  9. Bumping this thread up as I have been offered a rebuilt 7k.. Looking at putting this into my ke20 and after reading this thread one thing is still shady to me... engine mounts. Does anyone know if there are any direct bolt up or minimum modifications for engine mounts?? Cheeers
  10. G'day Lads, I have just purchased a overrated 1970 ke20 corolla with 70,000ks on it from Brisbane and am currently awaiting delivery.. As it's so old it was never factory fitted with rear seat belts or side rearvision mirrors.. Will I need to add these even though the car never actually came with them to pass a blueslip??   15. pretty sure you have to get another blue slip and then you can pay for a permit and you have to pay for CTP greenslip for the amount of time as well...

  17. I have a 120amp r33 alternater at home which is a bolt up to a vl, think you could do the same with it for 120 amps of powahhhhhhh??

  19. yep u certainly could.. flip it over and do it on the other side where the pipes merge
  20. few of my sleeve at different stage, aorund 20hrs so far, half finished..
