am i addicted?? well I'm here and I'm not working so you decide. i park my car right in front of the door at work so i can see it, and when i go for a ciggie i sit there staring at my car thinking what needs to be done next, i drive 200 metres to get lunch just cause i like to drive it, and cause I'm lazy, but i do like to drive it haha. the only reason i even know the US exchange rate is cause it effects me importing car parts and last week a guy at work said i should buy a newer car so now i have put a voodoo on him. i love my corolla and seriously wouldnt sell it for triple what i paid. and i have named her Beatrice.

would a KE30 locking cap fit a KE20?? the rubber around the inside of my fuel cap is starting to crack and i can see little bits of fuel that has leaked out onto the side of the car. that shits too expensive to be wasting.

i used to have a navara and i flipped the leafs and it was bouncy as hell. it sat on the bumb stops and looked pimp but it was shit to drive. i wouldnt recommend it.

yeha ive got a 3T in my KE20 and it looks mighty similar. if it wasnt pissing down rain id go outside and check for sure cause i know 2Ts are similar. that 2x4 I'm not too sure about, could be oak like littleredspirit said.

ive got 3t in my ke20 and the choke isnt hooked up and i need it working cause its a bitch when its cold, i know nothing about this so my mate has offered to have a look but i need to call him and tell him if its a manual or auto choke first, i don't know what to look for so I'm hoping someone on here knows. its got the stock carby. anyone know if its auto or manual??

i don't mind the blue one but i agree that it would be better without stripes, it looks like he was going for a race car look which he has pulled off. the orange thing makes my eyes hurt, those rims belong on an impala with hydros and the bodywork looks cheap and nasty.... it is original though

can anyone recommend a good mechanic in sydney who has experience with older toyota motors?? ive got a 3T which needs some TLC and i don't have the skills to do it myself. it would be good if they were close to the shire or southern suburbs but I'm willing to travel if they know their shit.

i drive a KE20 with a 3T which has a little bit of work done and will be getting more done soon. i live and work around the mascot area and can be seen anywhere from maroubra to cronulla during the week, sometimes i get out to homebush to use the indoor skatepark but thats as far west as i travel.

that MU is very impressive, i didnt realise anyone had done an MU that lays sill. i dunno how they did it though, maybe a rodeo chasis but I'm not sure if they are the same size, i know toyota surfs can be put onto hilux chasis' and then bagged so they sit real low like that. pathfinders can also be put onto navara chasis' for the same effect. i know of a landcruiser which is being built at the moment which will lay chasis with either 22s or 24s, livinglow customs are building it, check out their website for the construction pics, if they build it to show quality i reckon it will win a lot of trophies..... anything can be done if you don't care about registering it, it when you want to register it that it becomes real expensive...... i wish i knew this show was on, i used to live on the south coast and i would have loved to have gone

i'll give you rep just cause you did it all yourself, I'm mechanically retarded so I'm amazed when someone can do all that shit themselves. i think a lot of people on this site are toyota purists and don't like the idea of motors from other makes being put into a toyota, personally i don't give a rats arse which is why i'll end up with a rotor in mine. keep up the good work mate.

i havent been on here lately cause work has been flat out..... in between exporting container loads of shit ive been getting a small amount of work done to the KE, she had the tappets adjusted yesterday which made a massive difference to the sound but now i can hear that there is a leak at the exhaust manifold so that will be fixed soon, its going back to the mechanic tomorrow cause every now and then it does this funny thing when i stop the motor and it keeps on going for a little bit... something about pinging ive been told but i don't know what the hell that is, which is why i leave it to the experts. ive got a couple of questions that you rolla gurus will have answers for. where is the best place to get moulded carpets for the KE20?? please don't just give me some ad you've seen in a mag, i want to hear from people who have bought the carpet themselves, not people who have a friend of a cousin who once knew a guy that had a dream about getting some KE20 carpet. Also, how can i get this big arse crack in my dash repaired?? i hate it

yeah I'm thinking about going for a rotor, if you can't beat em... join em. but before i do that i want to get the most out of the motor ive got so i'll get some webers and what not and take it to get tuned as well, it definitly needs some tappet adjusting. what are the widest wheel/tyres you can fit under the guards?? what mods are people doing with the suspension?? i don't like leafs, ive help mates piss off their leafs on utes and replace them with a four link and air bags but as for normal cars with leafs i have no idea. does anyone ever organise meets through this site?? id like to meet up with some rolla owners around sydney to check out their rides and sit down and pick their brains.

i find corolla owners look, cause they feel the rolla love and understand someone looked after the KE20 for a long time before i got it and they did a good job. when I'm driving my navara, which is shaved and lowered i find i get a lot more people looking than when I'm in the rolla, i think people are wondering what the hell happened to the back of it to get it so low and how i manage to get in it when it doesnt have door handles. i refuse to look at cars with body kits and neons and corny shit like that unless its done tastfully, i truly believe just about any car can be pimpin when done right and sticking a wide body kit onto a hyundai excel doesnt cut it

thanks for all the help, i bought it outside of ebay for the asking price, i work with the previous owner and i know how much money and effort he put into it. its also handy being able to walk over to his desk and kick him everytime something goes wrong aint nothing ugly about the ke20, i love the shape and it shits on those ugly beamers that came from the same era, my username comes from a hip hop album by atmosphere and i liked the title so its been my username ever since. the 3t is pretty quick but a guy that lives below me just bought a series five rx7 and i want to beat him for half the price, he'll hate that. The 3t has some 'hot cams' already, I'm not sure if this made much of a difference cause i didnt drive it beforehand. i need to go through some of the threads and read what other people have done so i can get a better idea of the potential of the 3t, i like the idea of sticking with the 3t though cause swapping engines is a pain to say the least

First of all i know nothing about corollas, i bought one on the weekend and its the first one ive ever own. I'm here to learn as much as i can about the car and how to make it go faster without spending a shitload of money. I bought a KE20 corolla with an engine from a T18(whatever that is) in it, it goes pretty good and its like driving a go kart cause the thing only weighs 860kgs. previoulsy ive only owned utes which ive lowered the shit out of, i still own an 87 king cab navara with all door handles, badges, fuel filler etc shaved and some other body work done to it, its too low though and without airbags i can't really drive it anywhere without scraping the leaf spring hangers..... anyway back to the KE20. I'm in two frames of mind at the moment, on one hand i want to keep it all toyota so id like to put a decent toyota motor in it to get some more power, on the other hand I'm not richy rich so id like to get the best bang for buck. is it possible to get the same sort of power from a toyota engine compared to a nissan engine for the same price?? I'm assuming its not and that i'll end up with an SR or CA in it but you people are the experts so id appreciate ANY feedback. also, i don't like the brakes in it, i like to be able to stop fast and the drum/disc brakes arent cutting it, whats the best way to upgrade the brakes??
