  1. haha what a champ!!
  2. this car is inspirational mate!! I'm going to try and sort out a decent centre console for my KE25 this weekend and move the head unit to the glove box for a more original look.
  3. i havent done much research on the 2tc but i own a 3tc and ive done a little looking around the net. these engines have a hemi combustion chamber and love boost, if you want power from these engines without spending an assload of cash you need to throw some boost at it. ive read that they will take up to 12lbs with stock internals but personally id run 9lbs and put in metal head gasket and some arp studs to keep it all together, that should double the power. i already have all the parts to convert my 3tc to EFI and turbo and it has cost me less than $600 for a GOOD custom manifold, a big arse turbo from a 9 sec KP starlet and the EFI gear from a 3TEU, i have a microtech sitting there and i just need to get a customs fuel rail made. if i was you id be trying to find a 3tc and then trying to pick up the gear on ebay to put a small amount of boost through it, the guy from BRD racing was selling a whole heap of his gear on the US ebay not too long ago, thats where i picked up my manifold and turbo. some of the 3tc's in the states came with an electronic dizzy so you should be able to replace that points dizzy pretty easily.
  4. yeah sounds electrical. my 4age powered KE25 died a couple of weeks ago after i washed the car, it turnt out that water had pooled in the two spark plug holes closest to the firewall and i was driving on two pistons which lasted about 100m then the car died. once i dried out the spark plugs she fired up first shot
  5. use the clean one. cause its clean.
  6. Hiro when i seen those commodore seats i thought the same thing ive got prelude seats in my KE25 and they are really comfy and pretty supportive. they shit all over the hyundai excel seats in my KE20.
  7. one of my mates brings back cans of redline from the states and it makes you buzz. in the states its not legal to be sold to people under 18 and if your more than 15lbs overweight you arent meant to drink it. its the only "energy" drink where i have felt a physical reaction to the shit, i reckon the rest of them are just placebos and a can of coke will do just as much.
  8. The whole 911 conspiracy thing is just too far fetched for me... the logistics involved in setting that up to make it LOOK like Al-qaeda did it would be impossible... you'd need to have THOUSANDS of people involved who all had no problem killing innocent americans and all of them can keep their mouths shut FOREVER!!! it is not going to happen. as for religion, i don't believe in god, never have. i don't think I'm going to heaven, or hell, i think when you die thats it. but ive got no problems with religion, i think in moderation its a good thing cause it gives people hope and with most people it does make them a better person because they have a reason to be a better person... everone wants to impress their imaginery friends...
  9. http://www.otomoto.com.au/photos.htm heaps of old school jap rims in 4x114.3.... knock yourself out!!
  10. buy yourself a case of Boags premium and buy everyone else the cheapest shit you can find.
  11. should work
  12. if its not gonna cost you a cent than go the black wheels IMO. if its going to cost you money than don't spend a cent cause it sounds like you want the old school JDM look with the fender mirrors, front lip and wide wheels so your going to change it again soon anyway and you'll just be wasting your money on the wheels etc. ive got fender mirrors on my ke25 and ke20 and ive never had any problems with cops or pink slips.
  13. cheers mate ill have a look at the thread. $110 sounds like a good price to have some fun and keep my license.
  14. did you do the conversion and stuff?? or have you just owned it at some stage?? if you did the conversion i wouldnt mind finding out who your engineer is so i can speak to them about future turbo plans etc. superjamie, ive had so much bad luck with cars that i still find it hard to believe this one made it home without literally blowing up and killing me with it. lukeae71, the ke20 is definitley staying in my possesion for a while. it was my first car and ive always planned on giving it to my child when they learn to drive so they can drive me around in style when I'm old and senile
  15. no idea!!!! my mate took it to some big flashy panel beater around taren point (sydney), anyone from the shire will know the one I'm talking about, the big glass place that looks way too flashy to be a panel beaters, and they looked at it and said the paint would cost a fortune so they told the insurance company it couldnt be fixed i guess. but yeah i agree that the insurance company are idiots for not even looking at the damage themselves because I'm positive another panel beater would have fixed it. if i was my mate i would put the 6.5 back into the car and built a weapon but hes got a new baby and needs a car with four doors.... yesterday he was looking at turbo pulsars haha.
  16. if another one comes up let me know cause ill drive from sydney to canberra for some skidpan action... and porn.
  17. ive already got a members ride on here somewhere for my KE20 but i picked up a 25 a couple of weeks ago so ill put everything in one thread.... alright. The KE25 came to me through divine intervention..... it started on christmas day when my KE20 shit itself and left me stranded at home, alone, on chrissy day. my family is a 3 hour drive away so i decided to call around and do christmas with some mates. one of the mates happened to own a 4age powered KE25 and he had run up the back of a hilux a couple of weeks before christmas, we got talking on chrissy day and the way he described the car it was a write off so i offered him 1500 for the car so i could swap the engine, diff, brakes etc all over to my KE20, my mate was more than happy with 1500 cause his insurance already gave him 6.5 for it and he wanted it out of his garage. so boxing day i wake up feeling very hungover and very sorry for myself and i do the public transport thing over to cronulla to have a look at the KE25.... when i seen it i was blown away!!! its not a write-off, not even close to a write-off, and i already had the panels, bumper and indicators at home to make the car legal.... this was the KE gods way of thanking me for putting up with the moody KE20 for two years.... so upon closer look at the car i can see that the drivers side 1/4 panel needs replacing and so does everything below the grille and part of the radiator support panel is bent so it needs to be cut out and replaced, but the car drives straight and there was no damage at all to the engine or radiator... "exxcellent"..... after stuffing around for half an hour id pulled the guard away from the tyre and got both indicators working so i drove it home.... i had never driven a 4age powered car and my mate never floored it with me in the car so i didnt know what to expect. i only gave it a bit once on the way home but i was pretty impressed with how hard it pulled, in second gear it did 120 without hitting the limiter, its a bit gutless before 4k but once its gets to 4k it roars until about 9k but i can't see the tacho properly so its hard to tell. once i got the car home i stripped off the bent panels and bumper and took the straight panels from my KE20 and swapped them over so i could use the ke25 as my daily for a while. thats where I'm at now, trying to find parts to get both cars straight and then i can think about paint how it looked from the passenger side when i went to look at it... where it damage?? the damage.... not so bad really swapped the panel from my KE20 and the fender mirror came with it so i had to put the other one on to match. i have a thing for fender mirrors on old jap cars. also swapped the bumper and a couple of little bits from the front, some parts are still missing but everything to make it legal is there. a pic of the engine bay. definitley nothing broken there and this is her good side after a wash yesterday. this is my KE20 looking sorta clean. at the moment this car is sitting in the driveway waiting for the 25 to find its own panels so it can have its panels back. the 20 was a jerk on chrissy day though so it can sit there and wait patiently for its turn to be cared for. so future plans for the 25 are a respray either in the same silver, or british racing green, some te27 flares, a front lip (already have), some wider wheels with dish (already have SSR mk2's) and then either turbo my engine or 4agze, or go 4agze and then turbo that, whatever works out best bang for buck cause I'm a bit of a tight arse. plans for the KE20 are up in the air. ive got everything bar a fuel rail to make the 3tc a 3teu and ive also got a turbo manifold and turbo for it and I'm really keen to see what sort of power the 3t can get reliably. ive read about 500hp alcohol fueled 3t' from the states but I'm just hoping for a reliable 250hp and then strip everything out of the car so bring the weight down even more. i think the ke20 will become my 30 year project that I'm still working on when I'm retired if anyone has a drivers side 1/4 panel and any of the front end parts let me know.
  18. ive been on there for a bit and there are some awesome rides on that site. i really want a KP61 and a hakosuba because of that site
  19. its the driver in the wrong, not the parts, the parts are legal and can be bought anyway so i think they should make some money from these cars somehow. shit they could even paint them blue and white and have some half decent cop cars
  20. crushing a 50-100k car is *** stupid and the cops should use some common sense... sell the cars, or strip the cars and sell parts and then do something good with the money like building some tracks or paying for the hospital bills of people who have been hurt due to idiot street racers.
  21. i like fender mirrors on old cars, especially KE corollas and early mazdas. i have them on my ke20 and will be putting some on my recently acquired KE25 because they are part of old school jdm look that i like. i wouldnt say they give you more visibility than door mirrors, just a different view of things. the blind spot does move as well but ive never tested it out so i might not even have a blind spot now, i just always look over my shoulder anyway. as for the legality of fender mirrors i have no idea. as with everything on my car i just tell the officer/RTA thats how it was when i bought it sir and i think it was legal back in the 70s. and ive got a set of the squarer fender mirrors at home that would suit a KE70 perfectly, if your in sydney and want to buy them send me a pm. wont cost you much cause they are just sitting there collecting dust, i reckon a pack of ciggies would cover it.
  22. also very interested in the R&P mod. ive read that using KP61 starlet R&P is an easy way to do it, but if i had access to a KP61 i would be modifying that instead. EDIT: i just went through and read the whole thing and this car is awesome, and you look like my dad. thats all.
  23. it has been a long time since ive updated this. in the last couple of months i have been reading about these 3t engines and ive come to the conclusion that a carby powered NA 3t will not do..... i need EFI, and i need boost.... and i don't want a 4a powered corolla so the 3T needs some work. so i got an 3teu EFI manifold that came up on ebay to get the EFI side of things started. at the moment i have everything except for one important part.... a fuel rail.... its pretty well impossible to find an original 3teu fuel rail so I'm getting a custom one made up which should be ready after the christmas break so by the third week of january the carby will be gone and a microtech will be controlling everything. ignition is now electronic using parts from a 22r dizzy. this is the only pic i have of the EFI manifold, its got the curved shiny runners and looks good when its all together have also ordered a front lip from thailand ebay guy. i don't think its going to be a perfect fit but ill make it work. if i need to get flares to fit my SSRs than i will, but hopefully i wont need any flares. that can wait though. i have also picked up a nice turbo and manifold from the states. this wont be used for about six months though, i need to get some decent brakes and suspension sorted before i throw any boost at the engine. ive also got some SSR Mk2's that i need to get cleaned up and then ill put them on. i think they are 13x7 and 13x8. they are pimp. but the wheels are the last thing on the list at the moment, first i need EFI, then brakes/suspension, then boost, then wheels, then maybe a respray and retrim. then i eat noodles for 12 months to pay for it all lol ill get some updated pics of the car once this front lip arrives and i put it on. oh yeah its also got an oil cooler as well and a brand spankin new dash..... i think thats everything
  24. my advice would be to spend 15k of the money on a car someone else has already poured 30k into. use the other 10k to fix any problems or more power or whatever
  25. nice one. i hired Dark Knight and Rambo yesterday but i havent watched Dark Knight yet, ill have to watch it tonight. Rambo was *** awesome, i didnt expect much from it but Rambo kills at least a million people in the last battle. American Gangsta is also worth checking out if you like a good story.
