i was looking through my manual last night and its a US manual, i thought the only differences in their engines and ours was the pollution gear they had but as it turns out they also had electronic dizzys on all 3tc' and the gap i was referring to is the air gap for the signal generator.... so as far as the gap for a points dizzy, i have no idea!! now I'm going to have to find out though so i can set mine correctly so when i get the info i will post it.

love your celica mate. i like the JDM kit, i think once the whole thing is together and painted with the rims on it the whole package will look super sweet. it beats the hell out of seeing a celica with simmons and a truck intercooler like most of the "good" celicas in aus

yeah 3tc. i set just stuffed a bit of paper in mine yesterday to set the gap. tonight I'm going to set it properly so i will let you know what the manual says

it wasnt a key banger but yesterday i put my dizzy in 180 out and there was a nice loud backfire when i went to start the car, one of my neighours was washing his car and he shit himself

cheers mate. i ended up going to a wrecker and having a look. the wire in my dizzy was so worn and dirty from oil & dirt that it looked and felt like it was twine instead of wire. i just pinched the wire from the wreckers and she started up first shot..... actually thats a lie, first shot i put the dizzy in 180 out and she backfired real loud and scared the shit out of my neighbour who was washing his car.... second shot it started up first go. dishedra, from memory it is 0.2mm. i will check the manual tonight and confirm

ive got a mate who has started importing old US cars to sell in Australia, mainly impalas etc but he can get anything. what do you think people would pay for a good condition TE27?? and what other US toyotas would people be willing to buy??

ive got a KE20 and i have the exact same problem with leaking fuel. ive tried a new fuel cap which has slowed it down but it still leaks slowly, if i don't wash my car in a month you'll start to see the fuel building up on the side of my car. ive given up though now, i just fill my car 3/4 at most and make sure i wash my car once a month

that looks awesome and must be fun to drive -
i just stuck a little pod filter type of thing straight on top of my carb after my stock air cleaner died(engine is 3tc). i had to hack off some of the base of the filter and drill a hole in the top of the filter for the air cleaner bolt to go through and then it just all lined up perfect, i made a little gasket but i don't think it even needs the gasket, the filter was just a $20 one from repco. ill take a pic when the rain stops EDIT: car also passed rego like this no probs

no idea. but i need an electronic dizzy cause my stock ons is hitting my weber manifold and that means no webers which means no cool induction noise which makes me sad. anyone know where i would find an electronic dizzy?

where are you guys getting your swaybars from?? i had a look on the whiteline website and it says KE2x stuff is discontinued, same with toyheadauto site. -
there was a KE20 rear-end coil over set up for sale on toymods. maybe ask that guy how he went about it
-
i don't mind the body kit, i think it has potential. lowered and painted with some really fat wheels this could look tough as. i reckon some old school SSRs would look awesome, some wide ones, something like 14x8 for the back and 14x6 for the front.

thanks for that Redwarf, I'm looking forward to the write up. also watched some redwarf on the weekend, i think ABC2 was playing it, that show makes me pee my pants everytime i watch it.

i got some cheap and nasty $50 nangkangs or something. they are cheap, and nasty lol. but i don't drive hard anyway so they are perfect for my situation. i can't really comment on tyres but when i went from 13x6 to 14x7 wheels i really noticed a massive difference in the wet and the car doesnt follow bumps and grooves in the road like it used to. interested in some swaybars now though :-) -
I'm the same but i only spend about an hour a day. there are certain spots where i know i should change regardless of how the traffic looks because i know one lane always stops at that spot, it might be a place where lots of people turn right or lots of people stop for some reason. I also steer clear of lanes that merge into another lane because that lane is gonna have twice as many cars soon and you always get arseholes who don't merge 1 for 1, they have to squeeze two cars through cause they are stinkin cockholders with no patience. the thing that really pisses me off on the roads is when you get two slow cars who sit next to each other and noone else can get past them to the clear roads ahead. i call it the Flying V and i f@$king hate it.

i guess it depends what you are going to do with the car. is it just a daily driver?? do you drift?? have you considered 14x8's?? sorry, I'm bored shitless at work. first question still stands though.

I'm very interested in seeing this HOW TO. I will give you a shiny* penny for your troubles. thanks. *penny may not be shiny

for anyone that hasnt visited "the shire" you should know that using punctuation is frowned upon in the shire, so is having your collar down and wearing a shirt that isnt pink. i used to live in caringbah and the local paper is just one big sentence.

if you could make it so the spoiler was the same width as the valance id be interested for sho. only the top of the soiler needs to be extended like 20mm by the looks of it. i think it would just look a bit neater. send us a PM if you end up doing it cause ill be after a chin spoiler and flares in the near future

my engine came with a 'mild' cam, whatever that means. i can get the spec sheet for you if ya want, i know ive still got it at home somewhere. I'm running the stock carb still and extractors and i think the car is very very good for daily duties. if you get a new cam let us know how it goes cuase I'm looking at strapping some sidedrafts to my engine soon as well and I'm interested to see how the cam/sidedraft combination will work. EDIT: try rodger at RM Carburettors for linkages. i can't remember the website but google will find it for ya
