  2. is mixing oils a bad thing?? ie, if i use castrol and then have to top up the oil should i ONLY use castrol again??
  3. that sounds like a pain in the arse man. if i was you id pick up a cheap 2T or 3T & a T50 for the mean time then when you are finished with them try to sell em for what you paid.
  4. that second one looks like they've been reading a mini truck magazine..... shaved door handles, locks, bumpers, mirrors, canvas sun roof and billet wheels..... i think they should have used a hilux instead of a corolla.
  5. i lived in wollongong for a couple of years while studying, lived in north gong, fairy meadow, towradgi and i thats all i can remember. but yeah i will be keen for a drive down that way if other people are interested, the drive through the national park is always fun

  7. holy shit you guys have some nice corollas. i want a KE1x now. i always thought the KE2x were the best corollas but i think i have been swayed. whats the weight of a KE10 with stock engine??
  8. yeah the rotor idea went out the window a while ago. i know a mechanic in sutherland building a 12A powered KE20 and i asked how much to put on one in my car and he said at least 15K with brakes and everything else to get it engineered. for that money i could buy a KE or an RX thats will be heaps quicker. i think the 3T with twin sidedraughts will do me for a while, when i get sick of that ill get a blacktop 20v or find a 4AGTE that someone else has poured thousands into for me to enjoy. do you guys ever have cruises or meets or anything?? ive got a mate with a 4age powered KE25 and we're always keen to go for a little drive around the sydney area or down to wollongong or something.
  9. well it has been a long time since i updated this. nothing major has happened with my car but i now know a lot more about corollas and just cars in general, its sorta funny reading my first post now. engine wise nothing has changed except now i know how to fix most things myself which is saving me a bit of cash. its still running like a dream and sounds nice. I have rebuilt a pair of mikuni solex sidedraughts from the 2TG that will eventually be strapped to the 3T, I'm just waiting for some spare cash to buy the manifold, linkage kit and get them tuned. once that is done the engine is finished and the only other work in the engine bay will be cleaning up the wiring and painting the engine bay. exterior wise ive got some 14 x 7 wheels of some sort, i dunno what the are called but they are alright. the inside part is painted black now and just the lip left polished. but more importantly i have a set of SSR mark 2s on the way, 13x7 for the front and 13x8 for the back, yeah they have a bit dish on them :-). when they arrive they'll be sent off for a full refurb and get the centre star bit painted the same colour as my car. also put on some fender mirrors which IMO was the best 200 bucks ive spent on my car, it just looks so much more pimpin now. interior, i now have some chocolate stains on the passenger seat and some ciggie burn holes in the carpet. ive also got a overrated dash pad thanks to Raven but thats still in wrapping until the interior gets retrimmed. future plans are TE27 style bolt on flares, lower it more once the SSR's arrive, get the twin carbs on and tuned and sounding awesome, interior retrimmed in black vinyle to match the original back seats. then its done and i move onto my TE27 project. new wheels go on, they are now black on the inside with just the polished lip, it looks better now: Fender mirrors not long after that almost forgot that i got these wheels as well to pick up this weekend, i seen them before the SSRs and they were cheap so i grabbed them but now that ive got SSRs coming I'm not sure what will happen to these. they are ROHs apparently but ive never seen another set.
  10. hmmmm..... i have been asked to move from sydney to adelaide next year to work in our new office but now I'm not so sure. i where are these dirt roads that are littered with gun wielding rednecks?? are they close to where people live?? should i learn to play the banjo before moving to Adelaide??

  12. i concur. my 3t is a biatch in the mornings and doesnt like to move for about the time it takes me to smoke a ciggie and find a cd to listen to, id say about five minutes. and even then its pretty slugish till its fully warmed up. if your car is heaps bad though maybe the timing is out a little bit. if its stock the timing should be 10 btdc, if you've got a timing light id check that.

  15. listen to them. for what it will cost to turbo your 4ac you could have had a 4age that will be more fun and a shitload less problems.

  19. i don't think ive done one of these yet.... Name: Paul Car: 73 KE20 Motor & Driveline: 3T and T50. Suspension & Brakes: the guy i bought it off said something about changing the struts but i wasnt paying attention. still got the 4x110 hubs so not much has been changed. Wheels & Tyres: 14x7 somethings on it at the moment Interior: seats from something else and a centre console from something else. i changed the carpet but want to go back to black carpet soon. Body: fairly straight body, only one ding from my drunk cousin falling into my car. put some fender mirrors on her for that old school look, best money i spent on the car so far. Other: its got a fully sick air horn that demands respect future plans include putting in a 3t that i am rebuilding with twin mikuni solex carbs, new pistons, mild cam etc etc and some SSR mark IIs when i upgrade to bigger brakes and 4x114.3 EDIT: and lower it, but the wheels on it at the moment don't allow me to lower very far so need some new wheels first. i don't plan on getting big HP out of this car or spend big $ on it. i just want a really clean old car that sounds good, looks good and gets the nod from other KE owners. this car is also the first car ive ever touched with a spanner so its a good place to learn, and when i do fix things its a good feeling. oh what a feeling :bash:
  20. nice. do you have a thermo fan?? ive got one on my 3t and it makes a big difference in traffic, especially in summer. ive never seen my temp get near half way with the fan, i love my fan, if i could bolt four of them to the radiator i would.
  21. i will be replacing my asian carb with a weber 32/36 whenever i can be smegged, it'll add a little bit of HP, should hopefully improve fuel economy, will look pimp and will be easier to play with. for a new one with an adaptor plate the cheapest ive found is about $350 delivered. if people know of cheaper let me know. i don't want an old one though, ive got enough carbies to rebuild. I'm rebuilding another 3tc as well and that one is getting some twin mikuni solex's from the 2TG.

  23. mine costs about $50 to fill up. i think the tank must be getting bigger though cause it only cost $40 last year.

  25. its probably not worth selling it how it is. try and fix it yourself, you'll learn some skills and ladies love guys with skills
