  1. Folks I've been in discussion with Sheldon (blown 5k) for some time about getting my hands on a set of his manifolds to fit twin sidedrafts to an upright K Engine. He's interested in running a batch off so I am here to drum up some interest to see how many serious buyers are out there on RC. Serious as in you: - understand what you are buying, these are not a bolt on to your stock K engine - have cash - none of that 'when I sell my high school text books mummy said I can buy them' guff ;) Post your interest here. Check the pics out, also search club-k and have a look at the crazy NZ installs that are putting us aussie K lovers to shame.
  2. those wheels are fat, are they the Nemoto rising stars? And another question, are the MA61s the 14 inchers, or the 15 inchers?
  3. Mate take it from me as a previous owner of a CA18DET bluey..... Take the CA out and keep it, burn the rest!!!!! Edit: by the way, look forward to more updates on the KE10, looking good man
  4. So you sold it then>?>?
  5. Come on guys, this was a legit question and you've all laid into him. Pretty uncalled for treatment of a new member. Give it a rest and thread locked.
  6. Ken, if you think that swapping all your internals to a clapped out 40 year old 3K block is easier than going through the pits and getting the 5K registered legitimately all I can say is... ....You're a mad bastard.
  7. Hmm handy to know. Any idea how hard it was to retrofit the internals? And is it a denso or a bosch base???? Probably just simpler to drill and fit a pickup on the front pulley anyway....?
  8. Didnt happen to grab that dash off a bloke in Adelaide did ya?: Via Ebay?
  9. I've had plenty of trouble with coils playing up and even ballast resistors can cause grief. I'd give these a check/change as well/
  10. Yep water pump. They have a tiny little hole behind the shaft seals that is designed t leak when the seal dies, so you can tell its time to replace the pump. That's most likely where it's coming from.
  11. Yeh the perry ones bolt in no problems,
  12. Ke11's came with the pillar vents, ke10's didn't. There is some conjecture whether the KE10-B came with them though. So check your vin plate, if it's defintely an 11 then it should have them and they've been bogged up. You could try 'reclaim' them but you will have a hard time I reckon. it you're stripping it and want to do it properly, I would suggest you cut and weld in some patch plates.
  13. I would go as far to say; not really. Even with an exhaust, you'll still have the same amount of slows but will feel faster because you ear-dyno tells you it's faster! But chuck on the cams and carb upgrade, now you're talking.
  14. pretty sure 18s were all fully imported. I have a stock ke3x rear sway bar i was going to retrofit in mine but havent got round to it.
  15. scratch that idea colin, those facet bits of junk make a god awful racket, and the factory (quiet) mechanical one pumps enough to feed my twin dells anyway! As Reed said, pull the old one apart, they are extremely basic as you will see. Youll realise how easy it is to swap and it'll feel a million bucks when you do it and get it to work.
  16. Lowering blocks will be fine, if you can find them. If you don't want to go that way, plenty of workshops in the US should be able to help you with reversing the spring eyelets. It's a common mod for all the rodders and will get you about an inch or so lower. I would suggest lowering blocks are the easiest way, even if you buy them from Australia.
  17. It's been covered a few times before, superpro/fulcrum generally have none left. Allegedly they do a run of them every now and then when the demand gets up a bit.
  18. You should have no problem pulling it apart and replacing it, just swap the newer diaphragm across to it. I've done it on old Galant motors no problem. When they say it isn't serviceable, they probably just mean they don't make replacement parts for them on their onw.
  19. There's plenty of downloadable CR calculators, personally I wouldn't go off anyone's advice unless they're the engine builder. So many variables to this calc, you'd rather know for sure what you're aiming for. The only hard bit is measuring head volume anyway, the rest can be done with a vernier easily enough
  20. Makes sense, if your pumping all your oil to the hydro lifters that no longer exist, you'll get a pressure drop in the system.
  21. Haha the banks don't give a shit man, they just hit you up for the down you owe me for a cube of steel! Hahahaha well said.
  22. The other important thing to point out is, if you don't use the endurotec stuff, then what are you gonna use???
  23. Mate, just buy them, they will be fine. A lot of these crowds don't 'make' them themselves, just on-sell a brand of piston. I bought my pistons through Precision and they were Mahle items anyway.
  24. Pretty sure they had no cob and just vented back into the air cleaner cover on the early k engines.
  25. You know most of us are gen y here right? With the exception of red dwarf, i think he's like Gen BC or something. It used to bug me, but now I just relish in it. Wgmg. Toilet paper on roll backwards.
