  1. Cool and fun. I dig it. Although I can get past how thermodynamic lily retarded it is putting the turbo there, packaging issues or not.
  2. Coat hanger down the window trim to lift the arm on the outside lock barrel works a charm. Also, on old rigs, you can apquote easily pry the window frame outwards enough to reach in and unlock it.
  3. "everyone" is mostly people who've never run hydraulics on a hot k engine. I also run hydro, massive lift, very aggressive cam, twin sides and it flies. 7k rpm, no problems. At a massive 68kw it's one of the gruntier NA 5ks out there haha. So yes: they will be suitable.
  4. Yeh that will be easiest, it is possible that you've got a hydraulic cam profile as well. I don't even have a full set of hydro lifters I could sell you unfortunately. There are other options for solid lifters though, I'm sure some people have done it.
  5. Ah many rants for my enjoyment! The skateboard one is bullshit though, I got done for no helmet on mine years ago.
  6. Mate keen to see how this crossmember goes! Just a pointer with spot Putty, it's a single pack so it takes a long time to dry and contracts a lot more than bog; fill to deep and you'll find it'll depress quite a bit over time. Much easier to work than bog like you've discovered, but just keep an eye on it cos it's a trap I fell into long ago, filling to deep then having to rework it after I'd primed it up.
  7. am I the only one noticing the kevlar barrel on that smashed rim? It's hardly a stock, off the shelf rota is it?
  8. Probably not overkill if you're seriously looking for 10k revs! Keen to see how this goes. Some of those 2L sports sedans are serious monsters. There's a couple of escorts getting around with 30k worth of Cosworth under the bonnet so I'm keen to see how this performs. How are you going to manage the fact that 3k's are getting to be 30+ years old and the block prep will be critical? Love to see some shots of this head as well, next time my engine comes apart I want to do a bunch of work to the head.
  9. Put a reg in, sounds like you've been over the setup plenty and that its clean etc. A reg definitely wont hinder anything so you will at least eliminate one possible problem.
  10. Spent a total of 6+ years driving cars with mph speedos but only ever had fines in my kph speedo cars.... I don't see the problem personally.
  11. Yep but not broken, altogether not there. It looks like its been replaced with a unit from another vehicle, I'll grab a pic.
  12. Have you worked out how your steering geometry will match up to the original geometry?
  13. I would have pulled it off but mainly for the fact that it would be bloody hard to do a clean job of it. Also, if you had some argon or a similar inert gas, you could have purged the motor to avoid potential fire issues,
  14. No I actually.need the barrels gprs the resettable odometer, did ke20s ever come with resetting odometers?
  15. Wow. That is cool. Does anyone have a pic of a ke20 cluster with resettable odometer? I have a ke 17 sl dash but it's missing the lower odometer, this is a good sign that a ke 20 item may fit.
  16. dagnabit. 4x110s cool as, what you gonna slap em on?
  17. Wow. How much for them delivered to Adelaide?
  18. Early galant master cylinders GA-GD models, are dual and have the same bolthole spacing. You also have options for a matching size bore and at least one other size so you can tune your braking a little if you want.
  19. I second that, pearls are tacky especially if you don't have a straight-as-a-die body.
  20. Why not just run the 5k head with with the 5k pistons? I'm running the shallow dish pistons, just need a big ass cam grind. Alternately you could just get an engine builder to rip out a couple of cc from each head chamber.
  21. These things are uncommon, but not in particularly high demand. I would have said altezzaclub's pricing was fair.
  22. yeh if you could that would be good. I've seen some of the upright conversions on club K, amazing.
  23. Honestly, I've had more alternators fail than you've probably cooked dinners. OK maybe not. Alternator probably cactus. They'll often give you niggly little problems for months on end until they finally die. My money is on alternator.
  24. Can you tell me anymore about the uprighting? Maybe pics of the modified engine mounts and gearbox mounts? Is the spacer plate tapered at all, from the pics it doesn't look like it. And that manifold doesn't look like a once-off job, looks like a manufactured part, any more info on that!!
