If you've made $110K, for the year you have a tax burdon of $29k-ish. If you've paid $40K, expect a large lump back. Disclaimer: this figure doesn't take into account medicare levy, various rebates, and of course any deductions. The ATO has a number of tax calculators if you want to work it out better. For 40K tax you would want to have earned around the 135 mark. I get paid overtime, which is irregular (some weeks not there, others 30 hours worth), but that usually only throws out the end of year by a couple of thousand. 4-6K for me is an educated guess. My tax burden should be about 45K and PAYG is about 49.5. Then there's deductions, investments and medicare which usually break even.

There's a slight problem in that you cannot run a 4AG as a PRC rally car. It doesn't fit into classics, and as far as I know there's no AMSAG in S.A. The place sets like concrete, and after you''ve knocked the top off the dust, it's super grippy and you end up leaving black marks on the dirt. Back in the day the locals used to use Yoko 008R tarmac tyres. Used to get towelled each and every time by a Nissan March Supersport. Good times. :)

A brand new pair of DCOE 40 Webers will set you back about $1200a pair out of the box, plus linkages, plus manifold, plus filters, plus dyno time. Second hand, the going rate for a pair of Webers is about $500- $600. You should now get these rebuilt, plus linkages, etc. Dellortos are a bit cheaper, and can be found for as low as $250 a pair. Rebuild to follow, etc. Note, Dellortos are more expensive to get parts for than Webers. Everything is around twice the price, and you need two/ four of everything if you're going twins. I don't have a high opinion of Solexs, therefore I don't know what they cost second hand, nor do I care. Another thing of note, the car WILL require dyno time. You can get a half decent tune off the bench, but you will never get them perfect unless it goes on the dyno. After that, you should NEVER have to touch them again. It is unlikely for you to get away with putting twins on for under $1000. Budget $1500 if you want to do it properly. Then find a long tunnel, drive through it and listen to the induction noise. Turn around. Repeat. Several times. :) I personally prefer Webers (I own three sets), some prefer Dellortos. One or two freaks like Solexs. It's up to you which at the end of the day.

Gday. A couple of handy hints for you so that you time here will be well spent. The main one is make your posts readable to anyone over the age of 25. SMS speak is a pain to anyone not used to it, and as older people are more likely to have the answers you seek, you're excluding a large slab of experience when you do so. Spelling and punctuation are your friends. The other one is search and you shall seek. Many topics have been covered before. The rides and projects threads are a wealth of knowledge, and if it's not covered somewhere in there, then it probably can't be done. Try putting more info into you post. We can make many different suggestions, but if you only have $300, not many of them will be practical. You have to keep in mind that we get asked very opened ended questions like yours about once a day at the moment, so if you don't have a think about the questions you ask, you're not going to get answers you're happy with.
