  1. i could write an essay to explain all this, but really don't have the time atm. Couple of quick points: don't bother with the protein powder your better off focusing more on getting your diet in check. no so straight bar is called an ezy curl bar LEGS ARE IMPORTANT!!!! it is essential to train them just as much as the rest of your body, it also promotes growth for your upper body. You hav forgotten completely about your back, it is a major muscle group and very important If ive got time later ill knock up a quick 2 day split workout you can do, that way you can do that two days then the next day go for a run or something then repeat
  2. fair enough, does look cool. Would love to have it sit like that but its just not possible when the car gets driven daily, especially seeing as i do alot of K's
  3. man you guys run narrow tyres on your rims! i run 165/50/15's on the front of my car with a 6 inch wide rim and sure the is looks good but the grip level just isnt there. I suggest wider tyres if your aiming for the thing to handle, ill be changing to 195/50/15's shortly. don't think you can really go much wider if you want the tyre inside the guards because of strut clearance. On a 7 inch rim id be running 205's but bit hard when your rims side well outside the guards. ALso i think you find the whole rim/tyre must be inside the guard for it to be legal, not just the tread. IMO 15's are perfect for a KE20, any bigger/smaller can still look alright if done well also though
  4. yeh i was shocked at what i found, glad its all sorted now though. Finished it all off today only to find the sub that was in there is stuff too :bash: double checked all my wiring and it was all sweet, so got my make to bring around his sub and hooked it up and it worked perfectly so definitely the sub that is stuffed. Didnt have time to go shopping for a new one today. Real happy with how the new set-up sounds though with just the speakers, can't wait to get a sub in there, should sound very nice. Gotta love the good sound proofing in euro cars, just makes it sound sooo much better. No crappy (boot) rattles through the car don't like it one little bit, grille insert would have to be the same colour anyway to make it look any good. Car is pretty low as it is atm, pretty much as low as i can go without getting the wrong type of attention. Had a cop have a quick sus over the car the other day and he didnt say anything, i think any lower and he would of got the tap measure and defect book out as he looked pretty tempted to anyway lol Any lower would result in rediculus camber on the rear too. I'm happy with how it sits, don't have any scrubbing issues even at full lock over bumps. The tow bar has saved my rear bumper on several occassions though yeh the exterior is staying as is, ive seen lots of these merc with more exterior mods and i just don't like them. Makes them look too over done IMO Car is an earlier model so only the 12 valve, has enough power to satisfy for the daily. I think factory quoted power is 164KW
  5. just make sure you get a decent offset so they fill out the guards well, your current wheels would look heaps better if they sat out a little more especially at the rear IMO
  6. decided against it cos i think it break up the colour a bit, they tie in well with the tinted windows, tail lights, side mirrors and tyres IMO. By all means so a chop and convince me otherwise, ive already had a quoted to get them done previously and almost did it :bash:
  7. started collecting parts for the stereo install, but had a look at the current set-up and almost died at what i saw so decided the stereo needed to be done sooner rather than later. Some of the dodgy things include, taking power for the amp from a back window switch (with no fuse), ground wiring going to the fuel sender, wiring for the front speakers going from the headunit to the back of the car then back to the front speakers (and one wasnt even plugged in) meanwhile changing wiring colour and type 3 times, several wires which went to various places in the car only to find they werent actually connected to anything. I think the only good thing about it was the soldering, pity they only decided to tape up half the bits they soldered :bash: funny thing is with all the wiring that was in there, most of it was done wrong so only the rear speakers and headunit were working, the amp, sub, stock front speaker, 4inch in the rear all were doing absolutely nothing. So what should of been an easy install has taken me two FULL days to do and still isnt finished. The good thing now though is i have fixed ALL the dodgy wiring in the car, completely ripped out the old stuff and started again from scratch. Its taken alot longer to due to the fact there are so many electrics in the car, for example the passenger seat which had to come out was 3 plugs and some vac lines going to it under the seat for all the electric motors that power it plus the fact where the mounting bolts are i don't think merc ever intended anyone to remove it, so that took a good hr to remove. Also had to remove alot of the dash to find out where wires where going which took a while. The good thing is it has a nice size plastic "channel" which all the factory loom for the back of the car runs through which had enough room for all the new wiring to fit so its extremely neat and tidy under there now, not that you'll ever see it under the carpet. Only things left to do are mount the amp and run the wiring to the sub/rear speakers. Heres a pic of the wiring that came out of the car, 95% was doing nothing and heres a couple of better pics of how the car now looks with the new taillights and clear indicators :)
  8. i went down to show my support, would of been nice to see a few more people down there. There was enough to bloke Dale St though, some nice cars driving around the area to so good to see some people bring their cars along as well
  9. looks like its come straight from the showroom!
  10. another important note is alot the cars with these conversions were engineered years ago when the laws were different, trying to engineer the same set-up now might not be possible due to these changes in the law. Best example of this is all the engineered RX3/808's with 13BT, can't legally do it anymore though (some people say you very could but more dodgy stuff went on back in the day....)
  11. looking good mate! Interested in doing some seam welding on my car down the track???
  12. depends what you intend to use the car for, i rota can be mounted much lower and further back in the engine bay and is alot lighter than a V6 so is a much better option if you want the car to steer. Pure burnout/striaghtline car a V6 will do the job perfectly, at a much cheaper cost
  13. very nice! just thought id add my 2c about the whitewalls, they are infact illegal due to the fact they cut into the sidewall of the tyre. But minimal amount is cut and it doesnt effect the tyre at all, Ive also had a cop look over my car with twin whitewalls and nothing was said about them so you would be pretty unlucky to get done for it
  14. the only thing i don't like it the FMIC, the rest of the car is perfection!
  15. :P :P :P
  16. find an XR front end! much better IMO
  17. yeh fair enough, please don't cut holes in the guards puely to fit indicators. Were the old trims in good condition? Want to get rid of them?
  18. legality of not having an indicator on the front corner of the car??? You have the early style guards, without the indicator in them, so should have an indicator in the fender trim
  19. good work henry, i actually don't mind the pinstripe. Only thing wrong with the car IMO is that pee shooter is sitting WAY to low, needs to be raised up into the cutout.
  20. factory LSD's are crap in the hilux's, most people change to an aftermarket one when doing a conversion. But for the power the 20V produces you shouldnt have any problems with it id say provided its in good condition when it goes in. What ratio you going with?
  21. absolutely awesome. "overrated" should be reserved for cars like this
  22. would you be able to get some close up pics for me? Thanks
  23. handbrake all connected? I'm interested to know how, who, where and how much it costs if you don't mind me asking. Still havnt got mine sorted yet, PM me you prefer thanks
  24. I can get pics and measurements of my cross members and mounts if you like, can prob answer some of the tech questions to if you hav any
  25. i found guages mounted there a very hard to see at a quick glance while driving, steering wheel gets in the way
