  1. I’m sure it has been discussed previously, not necessarily in a KE30 but the concept is the same no matter what. You will have to search the forum for the threads. May be easier searching in google but add rollaclub to the search terms for forum specific threads edit: and when you find it, add a link to it here so it’s easier to find next time
  2. Very nice!
  3. Another thought, if you were on mars with zero gravity, would you even need an oil pump?
  4. I’m thinking higher rpm is the exact opposite of where you would be going. My trusty 2T in my TA22 years back was struggling, but after a can of slick 50 it was reinvigorated. It was smoky and not good beforehand, and great for years afterward. But oil pressure in a can? I can’t see it holding up for long. Welcome back by the way
  5. Not sure where you are, or if they are the same, but a 92 model has gone into pickapart Kilsyth today
  6. Hopefully not to much drone
  7. Currently on eBay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323483320718 You may find he will accept an offer of $95.
  8. Rear guards usually require refabricating inside the guard.
  9. I should add, after a speed event we would swap the spring back so the second Venturi only opened as per factory, or you lose flexibility for around town driving.
  10. I assume that’s the old “swap the spring from one side of the diaphragm to the other” trick. I’d forgotten all about that. We used to do that back in the 80’s club racing days. But soon it was a slippery slope to twin side drafts Ah the memories!
  11. Yes definitely agree with the oil in the plug hole. I left that out
  12. I would take the plugs out and turn it over in bursts of about 5 seconds about 7 or 8 times. Then put the plugs back in. Should have oil pressure by then and fuel to the carb. Double check no fuel leaks then fire it up
  13. You have to question why Toyota ever went with that design in the first place. I can’t recall ever having seen another 2 piece manifold gasket.
  14. Shouldn’t be too hard. Lots of later corolla’s had cable release. I would visit a wreckers and take something complete from the earliest toyota I could find with it. For example, ae86 coupes have them, and I’m sure our AE82 seca had one. Your hardest task may be getting the cable length right.
  15. That’s an amazing story, and congrats on getting it this far without being shot in the process. The install certainly looks looks pretty neat
  16. That's awesome. You shouldn't have told people about the pineapple tins. You could have started a business and retired on the proceeds! Great to hear it is running so well. As a boy, dad and I used to do an annual Melbourne - Labrador - Melbourne trip and his KE20 just ate up the kilometres along the old back route through Dubbo, Goondawindi etc. Good times
  17. Shack...... that is the awesomest shack I have ever seen. We are currently in the process of arranging a second renovation after I got a bit shitty and insisted I needed a new (bigger) shed, and showed the piece of rotten bearer I cut out and replaced so i could open the back doors of the existing 100yr old timber shed. Plus my sons cricket bat repair business has gone ballistic, so everything in there is permanently covered in sawdust. Bits of bat, grips, and assorted wood working tools are strewn everywhere. So he gets his own attached workshop. But no, a draftsperson isn't good enough. So now we are going through the consultative process with a "green' architect, and it has grown to potentially adding a story to the house etc etc etc. Grand designs has a lot to answer for....... Check back in a couple of years and with luck it will be out to tender.
  18. The bearing shops have amazing lists cross referenced to a blinding array of genuine and aftermarket part numbers. And often much cheaper than you would expect.
  19. I can't imagine why you would want to do that? Is it because you are looking for a cheap way to get the car going after cracking a twin cam head? if so, depending on what car you are putting it in, you will need to work around different sensors, engine computers, fuelling etc I think you need to give a bit more info
  20. It’s tempting. A rare weekend without any kids sport
  21. I’ve gone through the library but can’t find any references to dates of manufacture in the various parts books etc. I believe mine is a Feb 1969 car. I can’t remember why, as it’s been a while. But my body number is KE15176xxx (number obscured obviously) so I would assume yours was built after mine making it a 1969 model. Is there any particular reason you ask?
  22. I wondered if Jeremy had used up all the bandwidth
  23. A 4A type RWD T50 is 1.7 litres as Rob said. A 2T type RWD T50 is 1.5 litres. Where are you filling it from, the fill plug in the side of the box, or through the gearstick hole in the extension housing. If the latter, you generally have to be pretty patient and let oil drain away before adding more.
