Hey guys. I've got an oil leak that appears to be coming from the dizzy where it bolts onto the 5K engine... It's around that general area anyway, and there is ALWAYS fresh oil there. I can move the distributor less than a millimetre and where it moves there is a bit of oil so I'm presuming it's happening there... just wondering what this is indicative of. Guy on ae86dc had similar problem with their 4AGE... someone mentioned a dizzy o ring? Also, how much do electric dizzies go for and what kind would I need if I wanted one? Cheers. :D

Hey. My work closes on the 19th to the 5th (I think), so I'm looking for work for that period. I have my forklift license and I'm pretty confident on it. I'm with Integrated and will be calling them up on Monday to see if they can get me work but thought I'd check here as well. From what I've gathered it's easier to get the hydro cam re-ground and shave a bit off the rocker pedestals. I would have done it but I don't have two cars... :'(

I've decided to pass on the cam for now after a lot of research and toooo many phone calls. It's going to cost quite a bit and if it goes wrong I'm screwed... Cheers for all your help guys.

1 2 2 is what the machinist I asked said... he said it's usually 1/2 to 3/4 depending on stuff. I rang him up after reading those posts and it sounds pretty promising... the only problem is that I won't know how much was taken off the cam until it's actually done due to wear that might need to be accounted for. It isn't really a problem, I just hope skimming the rocker pedestals will solve the problem cause if it doesn't I'm car-less... :dance: Cheers!

I don't know much about all this stuff, but what does shimming mean and how will it affect the pre-load? That sounds like the best way but I guess I'm just worried if anything goes wrong... Cheers.
