  1. The new calipers require an adapter plate? or do they bolt straight up? I'm doing a VT caliper and disc conversion to my torana in the next couple monhts (using a CNC stub axle and custom hub, 2 piece disc with hat drilled to torana stud) Next step from standard VT stuff is obviously upgrade options for the VT, but need to then look at how it fits (or doesnt) with the torana front end components.
  2. I'm really thinking you need to shoehorn some CCs in there though! With that frame stretch, you'd be able to hang the ass out easily if it had the power! Ohh, and yeah, been happily married for 2.5 weeks now! haha.
  3. exhaust drama aside, its awesome to log on after the honeymoon and see you still going on this! haha. If it was fast, it would be the perfect little package. Looks cool as hell!

  5. DO IT! PROPER panel beating is a dying art. 90% of beaters these days are crash specialists, take this off, couple spot welds on the new panel out of the box, seam sealer, glue, paint and out the door. Not many know how to form panels from scratch, let along doing it with only hand tools like the old school guys.
  6. Getting married in 5 days!
  7. new baby and a crook knee.... sounds like a good time!
  8. I always giggle when I see people riding those twin front wheeled trikes, just seems like full sized bike for people that have no balance Would much rather a proper mans bike :P
  9. Adan on tc.org.au did S13 IRS into his 86. Worked out pretty well from all acounts so far (>6 months finished)
  10. in the world of competitive motorsport, like Mitch said, 8k is cheap! I know people who have spent nearly that PER CORNER to run middle of the pack in certain classes. Shit gets out of hand when you are talking classes that are power/weight restricted. The only places you can find more speed than the next guy is cornering and braking (and obviously skill) so they spend up biiiiiiig!
  11. ouch. Resale on the later model toyota range seems to be a bit shitty lately (going off trade prices) which is really uncharacteristic of the brand.
  12. Pull the old cluster out I say! Alloy sheet with some holes and sit them back where the original cluster was.
  13. What happened to your frame stretch and fatty? are they going back on?
  14. Thats the first sensible thing I've read in here. Another kick in the "working class" that the current Govt is supposedly working for...
  15. With the radiator, Talk with Nathan from JAR (just alloy radiators) He'll make it any size, any spec etc etc. I had him build the one in the torana, VERY well priced too.
  16. thats unbelievably awesome!
  17. wow. Sorry to hear about your mum man, I can't imagine how that would feel or the huge impact it would have, seems like you've used the car to help you trhough, which is good. VERY lucky on the neg driving charge, who'd you get to defend you (locker?) I love the last line of the bluebird..... street registered... haha. I'm guessing the powder coating and cermic coating are at someones business?
  18. going upside down for the first time is one of the coolest and scariest things you will ever do! haha
  19. Glad you got rid of the PVC pipe :) Just from previous experience with a track car (not mine) that had brake ducts made from PVC, the stuff is actually highly flammable, never would hav thought it would go up as quick as it does, scary stuff. The standard cotton lined or generic paper filters that most commodores end up with are terrible. You can generally see the fins distorting (they get "wavy" and seperated from the resistance) after a good flogging.
  20. yup, one of your mufflers is ʞ©$ɟed. Or your neighbours kitten climbed through the intake
  21. wow! that looks like a serious bit of gear!
  22. ummmmm... ouch! Was that you driving? Bought some new wheels for my goon on the weekend, was cheaper than buying new tyres for the factory 19s that were on it (and they were cheap!) 20x9.5 rears with 285 tyres, 20x8.5 fronts with 245s Always a helpful puppy needs to be lower, but wont happen till after the honeymoon :)
  23. haha, well thats more complicated than I expected! If you said "yes" my response would have been "Do it!" haha.
  24. would it be faster?
  25. MRP make a plenum that works with boost +ITBs
