Gday guys, my 35W 6000K HID kit will be in my '55 in a few days. Wanted 4300 or 5000k. Just curious, and yes i did search, how many people have done a HID setup before on their rolla, and how satisfied were you? Yeah yeah, i know its illegal to do it on a car that wasn't manufactured with it, but i drive mostly early morning and late night in the country. 2 of my mates have done HID setups, and never been hassled by the cops. HID kit will be here monday or tuesday. Got the day off tomorrow so i will swap the carbies over, and piss off the egr system i think. Also gonna tighten the steering box up, and look at suspension bushes etc.

The word overrated gets thrown around too much. Its far from overrated man, trust me. But i reckon the whels look grouse, makes it look like a different car. f@$k keeping it original, I'm gonna make this old girl shine!! Its stressing me too much to keep it original. Planning body work/paint job, schmick interior, and perhaps a NA 13B, or 12a turbo. We will see what happens. Plans for now- Save some coin, get out of debt, splurge on the corolla. Update time! Heater core was f@$ked and leaking (why it wasnt connected), sourced another one and its sweet now. Found more rust yay, found the vacuum leak to the distributor, so its running 1000 times better now, still missing at a warm idle, but ive got another carby to put on it when i get time. Picked up some wheels today, wrapped with them.! Sit nicely in the guards, and ill look at lowering it soon. Let me know what ya think. Crappy photo's, ill get more soon. Cheers, Luke.

Ive worked with a few people that lack that little part in your brain which does this automaticly. Its quite funny to watch haha. My mate has to have a few goes at taking wheel nut off a burnout car lol, he tries, then thinks for a tick, then goes the other way lol.

Ive been thinking of a dark metalic grey for my KE55. Nice colour IMO. Its hard to find the colour I'm thinking of.

Its running great after the carby rebuild. Still gutless and a bit of a miss when warmed up, but its smooth and she idles now. One more thing done. The throttle cable lug broke getting it off, just clamped the cable with a bolt for now.

Going to put a carby rebuild kit through it today, see if that helps. Try and mount the cd player if i get time too.

Its still on the road, i need it to get to work and back, i just don't trust it too much yet. Itll get there.

Wheels are the wrong PCD :bash: Spewin!! Primary jet got clogged with shit the other night making it not very drivable so i was up till 12:30 in the AM cleaning the carb, then up at 4:30 >| Then the exhaust snapped open just behind the cat, so wrapped 2 beer tins around it and MIG wire. Everyone stared at me driving it home, was not a happy camper!! f@$ked off the cat today and welded in a straight piece of pipe in its place as a quick fix. Carby done something bloody weird before, just flooded itself, engine died at the lights >| . Disconected the fuel line from the filter and wound it over for like a minute before she fired. It was just spewing fuel into the throats. Its giving me no joy, just one f@$kin problem after the other atm!!!!! Wont idle when its warm even after being tuned 1000 bloody times, the heater core is f@$ked and leaks, guess that's why it wasnt connected, fuel hose was leaking, dicky radiator cap, gearbox is leaking oil, and the problems with the carby and zorst. Give me a while, itll all work out.

Agreed with all above. Read my topic about how i feel about P platers that think they are drift heros. YOU'RE NOT! And its kids that think they are that kill people (my best mate a few years ago), or themselves. If you want it on the street, don't bother. If its an off the road car, go for your life man! Learn how to control it sideways, test its cornering limits, learn to judge corners, abuse the f@$k out of it! just don't do it on the bloody road!

Yes, rotary engine displacement is multiplied by 2. BUT. NA and forced induction ratios for car kerb weight and cubic capacity is different. Naturally aspirated motors (in QLD) is kerb weight multiplied by 3, and forced induction (turbo/supercharged) is 2.5 times the kerb weight in cubic centimeteres. Your best bet if you are not sure is to ring up an engineer who has the books and paperwork shit to make it all legal and legit, and ask him if and can it be done. Forgive me, ive had a few beers.

Got a set of wheels off my mates brother today. They will do for now. They are 14x5.5 i think 'performance' meshies. They really need a strip and clean up and new rubber when i find time. Flat out with work, so progress will be slow. Will get some more pics after work tomorrow night. There is a decent 3cm lip on them, and alot nicer on the eye than stockies.
