Well now that the bodywork is complete, We really have to get our finger out and get the mechanicals done.. Today we ripped the diff out again and started tidying it up ready for a fresh coat of paint. Matt decided while we were going to re-seal everything again and make sure its all tip top.. We took the brake drums off, removed the brake lines and brake linings, Drained the diff oil and removed the axels. Went and got a few nice whire wheels for the drill and then proceeded to remove the 10 kilos of dirt that was attatched to the diff. Have to tidy up the welds on the swaybar mounts too, but that will come later..

As you know I'd normally be the first person up for this sort of thing, But unfortunatly if I want to get those damn Dellortos on my car I need to work all this weekend. That means I'll be staying up the coast from Friday morning till sunday. Sorry but I'm out for this one :)

Update: Today most of the panels were bolted on and fitted up to make sure everything was as it should be, only one door left really to fix now and some small other repairs to take place..

well you have your major cancerous rust where you can poke your finger through the panel that is affected, Its a good idea to have the area in question cut out and a patch welded into its place. If it is only a surface rust on the panel, you can sand the rust off the top, apply some rust converter, let that sit and do its job, wipe it clean it with prepwash then undercoat the panel ready to be painted.. If you want the dodgy fix, you can fibreglass the area then bog over the top.. depends how rough you want the finish to be..

Good to hear its almost sorted :P If my conversion skills were as good as yours, my sprinter would already be running. But such is life, sometimes you have to learn the hard way ;)

Just read the pinouts off the ECU circuit board, Thats how I've done my engine so far..
