  1. FYI - all the *e7*'s that have had the 3 little rubber grommets removed from that front lower rad support bar ( a few people were calling it a beaver panel on previous page(s); wrong haha ) which, on yours is all rusted out - don't have anywhere near as bad a rust issues as the water can drain out. Over time, yes, like many other area's on a 70 - rust is an issue, but to prevent this from happening in the future.. make sure the rubber grommets go missing after you repair the rust =D $.02
  2. Call me negative, but i wouldn't lift an eye lid if we, down here in auz-stralia, got a special AUD edition with a 2AZ, Front wheel drive and automatic only. Seriously, I'm skeptical of what this market will get, until i see one with my own two eyes. Toyota Australia feels like its run by a joker at the best of times.
  3. lol this should be interesting.
  4. Pfft. OCd. Original Condition Disorder more like it =D hahahahah
  5. lol at the fact that its been 2 1/2 years since i have put a spanner on this thing. time fly's when you spend 10 odd months combined oversea's in that time. haha. only been in this country 66% of the time since i worked on this car last. hahaha.
  6. lul yeah, time to get some dirt under the princess fingers. Tonights Objective : Remove Exhaust, Remove axles, Remove Diff centre & inspect 2 way cusco. Would have completed more, but its fu*king hot & flying mozzys like my sexy ass. Needs : Axle seals replaced (leaking, something about it.. sitting too long? ) . LSD is spastic tight. Never had a 2 way cusco? apart before. Apparently Mumblezzz back in the day had this one "tightened". Lets face it, it acts like a locker. its horrible. haha. So, still unsure what to do with that. Will talk to some people(s). Once axle seals are replaced, rear axles can go back in. Must inspect rear brake line to diff, think its a little old now. mmm. haha. Fuel line ends have to come off and be flanged to prevent any. um.. "moist leakage" Front end has to be jacked up into the air, on stands & removed. Ol girls been sitting that long, anything nolathane related has...*says this really quickly* Perished. So, out with _all_ of that, In with Adjustable camber tops, Xt130 LCA's, Ae86 struts and brakes. Coil overs? Perhaps, unsure. thats next weeks bother. Door cards & Dash need some completing as well. That'll do for now. Thats the until rego list anyway. Thankyou for all your support and comments over the years, puts a smile on the dial. :)
  7. Brings back memories of when i got my Ke70, all those years ago. Heap of the guys at school ended up getting them as well, had our own little cruise club of 70's. hahah Was fantastic =D Looks like a nice slate to start off with.. drive safe now : )
  8. hahah thanks Jake =D Yeah, cat can come out of the bag now days. lol. I had a 7K in a Ke70, it was batty. Would eat, chew and spit out 4age's any day of the week lol Started off as a 7K Long motor. Spent on and off 6 months porting out the cylinder head, leaving the standard valve sizes and (will explain later) standard valve springs. Should be known that Twin 40's from an Alfa Romeo on a Redline manifold was used. Had ported another manifold out, but due to size restraints and being in a Ke70, thats what we had to use. If you have ever seen the size difference in ports between a standard 7K to a 3K-Bigport, Well the inlet ports on this head after its work were larger again & a work of art. haha. Cleaned the exhaust ports up and reshaped a few things, but didnt tinker too much in that end. A standard Aus 4k Cam was used and re-ground into something that.. whilst i can't remember the specs off the top of my head, had a serious amount of overlap & duration. hahah. Double timing row chain used. Standard valve springs were used as a.. bit of a safety barrier. And I'm glad we used them... Sourced a collection of 3F solid lifters, 4K-U Pushrods & Ke55 4kc rocker gear. The rocker pedestals were machined down 3mm & the adjusting mechs inverted. Just for effect, we used a 4k rocker cover haha. The cyl head was also shaved down a moderate amount. Never worked out how much, but if anything less than 98 octane was used, pinging was a problem to say the least hahah. A 5K elecy dizzy was added as well, with the vacuum advance hooked up to suit. I never really had the exhaust manifold / extractors setup properly other than some porting work on the flange end - a proper set of matched tuned length would have made even more power than the 4:1's. 2" exhaust all the way back, over diff. The bottom end was standard size, but rebuilt. The sump was baffled. Using a W to K bell housing, and a 2005? hilux gearbox, custom crossmember, Re-bent gearstick, RZN106 speedo cable & a one-off one piece tail shaft with removable uni's, T18 Rear diff using an open 3.9 ratio. Clutch was a mixture of 7K and W series. I can't remember which was which. Point is, it was one inbred son of a bitch. The slave Cyl had a custom machined slave pin for the extra reach. Its alot to take in, haha, but my god do i miss that engine. The standard valve springs were the only thing that kept that motor from self destructing. The get up and boogie from 2,000 was seriously impressive. When 7,200 came to visit, often may i add - not only was it screaming and wanting to continue past 4pm, the standard valve springs would kick and and let you know - btw - this WAS a truck motor. Ha. Ill build another one yet, learning the things that i did from this... and changing a few things. I'm sure i could squeeze a fair bit more out again. I never did throw that thing on the dyno. The thing would wind it self off the speedo without trying, the rest of the car was a let down for that motor. haha. And then you would pick 5th and if game enough, try to recycle the 6pm onwards timeslot :P Cheers :)
  9. ill be there as always =D !
