Nice work MM, shame they don't stay like that though! :y: Worse part about polishing stuff........ keeping it polished.

:y: @ Ben. I've got one of those before "Not having Proper control of a motor vehicle". With no demerit points they're just a good one to laugh at with mates......like right here!! :hmm: or sometimes the issuing officer! Looks like a good little score with the 5k and twins. Oh, and even though this is a KE2X instead of a KE3X it does also look eirely familiar! :)

It was pinned........ (the actual list thread I sent you, not this discussion thread) but wasn't updated regularly. That's why it was un-pinned. :y:

To quickly answer the question - "why heaps of people choose the 4k"? Because its the most available and cheapest K motor. Most wouldn't bother with a 3k because of the size - although a 4k is not much bigger it does have a bit more torque. 5k's normally sell on here from anywhere from $100 (junker) to $500, so although the bigger capacity and even more torque is good you could get several 4k's for the same price. If your zuk has already had a 4k in it then fitting your 5k will be very straight forward. The only thing you'll really need to check is the flywheel. If it has a corolla K40 in it then you need to use a corolla flywheel and clutch kit. Depending on weather the 5k you have has already been fitted to a corolla it may have a corolla flywheel on it (which has a 180mm clutch plate surface). If it hasn't been touched since its removal from a liteace then it'll have a 200mm flywheel on it - Swap to a corolla FW and you're set. :y: I have a '94 Murati (Indian made) Sierra - see pic in sig, which I'm actually about to fit a 7kc (1800cc K motor) in. Then I have more even stuff planned for it. :)

If you want minimal lag then get your hands on a T25G the "G" bit is the fact that it has a .48 rear housing which makes a hell of a difference in response. An EXA/ET T2 would be responsive sure, but top end flow would be a lot more restictive than the a T25/G. Oh and as far as FMIC go have a look in my projects thread at the MX6 cooler, I've had 2x of them now (sold one with carby turbo kit). They are so easy to mount in a rolla, and the inlet and outlet end up in pretty much exactly the right spot - for my setup or yours. Last one cost me $40 delivered off ebay. :y:

Did anybody else happen to notice just how many people were online yesterday morning??? Around 50 logged in users and another 50 odd guests. I assumed it was everybody checking there PM's as we all had one of these scammer PM's.

Rear Brake And Diff Upgrade Advise Needed
Taz_Rx replied to DX_COROLLA's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Mate I think you really need to start using this..... http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Main_Page -
Kiwi's refer to any "dished piston" (5k and 4ku) K motor as a "twin squish" as they have smaller squish areas in BOTH the head and piston, hence the twin. :D

I don't get much attention in the turbo car by the looks, which is fine and dandy with me..... until they notice the semi-slicks. It normally gets attention from the sound of it (espeacially with the glimer drive on), and the usual question is "Does it have a 4agze in it!?" :jamie: :D

Also got one from zuratikl

Yes, you can. Suggest you actually use the search tab in the top right corner as there is several threads here discussing this. :D

Car Not Starting After Driving For 20 Mins
Taz_Rx replied to DearmanKE's topic in General Mechanical
So it still turns over, just won't spark? Does it actually have points? or is it electronic with an ignitor? -
Sweetness, yeah I think we should have another CPITDD pretty soon. If the Holleybank cruise was anything to go on then I think there's a few cars about that people wouldn't care about taking on gravel etc. :jamie: ...oh and he did say the "SC" van. :D

Just a few.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l1-QbsU5gA...feature=related For anybody who hasn't seen the whole "The Wall" - Hire it, get stoned and enjoy!! :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FRtkek-Et4...feature=related For the country bumpkins! Not exactly a music vid, but I just love the song. Sure I'll think of some more. -
My diesel van got written off (statutory) in Hobart a couple of months ago. Don't think the boss would be too keen on another one down. Should make another trip out to Breaky soon actually. :D

1st Episode Of Top Gear, What Did You Think Of It ?
Taz_Rx replied to Budowski's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Thought I'd ressurect this thread for opinions on TGAU - Season 2...... :D Much better than last year, I genuinely laughed a lot more. James is heaps better than Charlie, but that may be somewhat in the fact that he's obviously not trying to be a "Jeremy". Warren seams to have taken over some control, but its still fairly shared. James' school girl giggle on the jet-ski was hilarious. I wanted to kick Warren when he introduced the "What were they thinking wall", then wanted to shake his hand when they dropped the moke on it! :jamie: "trampoline add" re-creation was funny as. Did anybody else get the opinion that the double bass belonged to Steve? Oh and nearly forgot..... How funny was the look on Skaifey's face when Warren told him the first time slower than the other 2!! like he said, he really did look like you was going to up-end Warren for his chair! So what did everybody else think??????? -
Glad you're a bit happier now mate, felt a bit bad yesterday when you weren't happy with it. So guessing you never dropped my name to try and get a better price?

Whats the casting in the bell housing around the clutch fork like? The PP fouled on the flat spot around this in my K-T.
-
Think it may be the one I saw at a track day at Symmons once. If so has a carby fed 4age in it.
-
Nah Todd only 5k's have the shitty TTY bolts. 3k/4k ones are much better and re-usable. ....still no comparison to a an ARP though! :)

Hey buddy, just been having a read of your SAU thread and thought I might make a few points for you. 1, I saw your "want to swap" in the first post here and was keen to swap your T28 for my T25G, but after seeing that its one of those chinese T25/28 hybrids I'm not really keen now. Haven't had any personal experience with them, but they deffinately don't have the best reputation! :y: On the same topic this statement concerns me.... With the turbo plumbed up you shouldn't be getting any resistance like that! I hate to say it but the problem may be an already un-healthy turbo! :hmm: Plug gap and timing won't really make much difference to how it runs at idle plumbed up or not!! 2, have you actually locked the dizzy? 3, You sure you've got the fuel system sorted!? :hmm: You said something about needing a pump with 8-10psi. So are you really going to be happy with 6-8psi of BOOST? 4, Your FMIC concern - Ok your carby backfires, it happens. But how in hell is fuel supposed to travel back towards the turbo when the induction pipe is under vacuum!? :hmm: Seriuosly mate, I would not worry about this and fit a FMIC when ever you want. ..... and this leads into my next suggestion..... 5, The guy who wrote this about the above.... ........has probably forgotten more about turbo K motors that what I have ever learn about them!!!!! :) He is the guy who originally helped me out with my backyard setup many years ago and I learnt heaps from him. Can I suggest that if he ever gives you advice again then take it very seriously as he's always right. :) You may have read posts of his here under the username "untubbed_20". ....oh and I nearly forgot, do you still have that T28 in the first pic? this one.... Cause thats a GTR T28 (one of the twins) and would be a much better size match over a S14/15 T28 for a 4k. [/rant] Si.
