  1. Sash had that setup pretty well sorted on gas. If I were you I'd just get the whole thing and continue to run it on gas for the economy. From memory it's also pretty responsive. Had to pop home for a mintue today to a grab the camera and took a pic while I was there. Oh, and one of my mates tought him to brap. Problem was what he actually tought him to say was "brap brap BANG"! :abuse:
  2. Where do you live again!? :P
  3. Finally got around to putting the chair restraint in my turbo car (pic in my thread) hehe. Turns out the '55 had a bolt hole in the (metal) parcel shelf and also a hole in the PDF shelf, never had to take any nhotice of it before and I retrimmed the MDF. Guessing KE30's must have just missed out on getting these. :hmm:
  4. hehehe we'll see what he thinks about a bit of boost..... well that isn't into a diesel anyway.
  5. That's not the way the ratio works. 4.11 means the diff has a 4.11:1 ratio (the :1 goes without saying). You should for every 1 turn of the wheel get 4.11 turns of the pinion (or tailshaft).
  6. There should actually be a little tag on one of the bottom bolts that hold the cover plate (borg warner diff) on the back of the diff. Depending on weather this has ever been taken off it might not have been replaced though. Have a look anyway. The tag is thin steel about 1cm wide and 5'ish cm long.
  7. At the risk of sounding like a smart arse and repeating myself - One that suits your diff ratio! So you first need to 100% confirm what diff you have. Was the car originally manual or auto? You then need to source the correct drive gears, matched for that ratio. Also worth asking - what wheels are on the car? Stock, or 17's etc?
  8. You need to change the speedo drive in the end of the gearbox to suit your diff ratio.
  9. When I used ke70 manifolds for J-pipes I'd just cut it off the ex manifold and weld it up. As for the inlet end, from memory they use a big banjo bolt. You might be able to just replace this with a normal bolt.
  10. Has that turbo got a S13/4/5 style rear housing on it? Bit hard to see in the pic. The compressor is from a GTR T28, only asking as the rear housing on these has a different dump pipe flange.
  11. That would be me. I live in Norwood. No spare 5k's sorry mate. Actually just noticed that yours is auto (was thinking 4 speed). In that case you'd actually be better off with a KE70 K50 as the shifter position is the same for the '55 auto. Weld the auto crossmember to the '70 manual one and away you go.
  12. AKA gutter scrapers!! stupid the way the spokes stick out further than the tyres side wall. I litterally rofl'd on the footpath once when a mate did it.
  13. 315cc 7mge mate. Wouldn't want to go any bigger than say 450cc on a fully worked motor otherwise you struggle to atomise the fuel. Byron is doing really well, running around now and starting to talk a bit, just single words like hello, bye bye, car :y:  , clap, and starting to try and sing (just the "round and round" of 'wheels on the bus'). Oh and he can "brap brap brap" too! Believe it or not I've actually got an update for Tar... maybe not what anybody would really expect but an update none the less. I'll upload a pic in the next couple of days.
  14. haha yeah induction noise is crazy load in rotas. I was in the staging lanes at Tarmak once, guy walks past me and says "there's something rattling under your bonnet mate"... I got out and popped the hood to see.... Think he shit himself when he realised it was the IDA. Bloody v8 drivers. I've got 4x resonators (2x each primary) and a muffler about a foot an a half long and mines still stupidly load. Oh and speaking of Harley's - They're my favourite targets for a slip-lane "play". Not only are they slow and easily beatable by a 13b, but at 1343cc the Harley V-twin has more capacity than a 13b, let alone a 12a!!! :lolcry: Also, seen these?..... http://www.xforce.com.au/cars/view_car/29
  15. Well I went to Archer's Mannor - where Josh originally said the motorkhana was at, didn't see the edit till Monday. Basically I've got a couple of k50's, but they're still in cars and need to wait until I sort my shit. I'd like to think one of them will be removed over summer. :hmm:
  16. Couple of pics from the MSCT website.....
  17. Damn!! any more violence and that shite needs an R rating!!
  18. Early mazdas also had chrome mirrors,.... but they're getting a little pricey these days.
  19. Location: knoxville...... he can't help it!! :P Click on the FAQ/Wiki across the top tabs. This also seems like more of a rides thread so I'm going to move it there.
  20. Would have loved to have seen it in action..... but I was at Archer's not symmons!! :P
  21. Incorrect. Only corollas and starlets had K50's. The gearboxes in liteaces are column shift things that you don't want for a corolla. And you be looking at about $800 for a townace 5 speed. Just keep your eye out for a KE30/55 style K50.
  22. Stealth edit huh? I rocked up at Archer's yesterday! :bash:
  23. Nick sold this car some time ago and it has been sold a couple of times more since then. He did all the build himself and from memory the WHOLE CAR cost him around $1400!!! I think he paid about $300 for a whole running VN.
  24. I'll have a chat to you about a gearbox on Sunday. I've got a couple of KE30/55 K50's but neither can really be sold at the moment.
