Took the word right out of my mouth. Also doesn't hurt to give them a spray of VHT "Copper Gasket" too. Oh and if you just got regular sized intake ports then a 7KC (not 7KE) manifold gasket is steel and re-usable.
  2. FYI there was a guy offering these on Tasrotary pretty damn cheap from memory. Could make them in all different thickness' too. About to send you a PM btw.
  3. Good suggestion. How many are there? Just one or 4x?
  4. Agreed, you don't need goop on a HG. The normally have an orange/red line around the outside of them anyway. This is basically a heat reactive line of goop anyway, when the motor heats up the lines seals up. Saying that though, I have given head gaskets in my boosted motors a spray of VHT "Copper gasket" before, but that's all I'd do. Careful too.... its nasty stuff that'll make your nuts shrivvle.
  5. Hops and barley probably don't grow as well in Sweden if you get my drift! :lolcry:
  6. Glad you think so mate. Don't think I've even driven the car for a couple of months now! Been pretty busy at work and have been driving the Zuk the cart stuff around. Plus I haven't really got much coin to spend on it lately having a rug rat. Next thing I like to do is replace the fuel pumps and surge tank (as that's actually not mine) and get some speedflow fitting in the boot. I don't think my lift pump is adequately filling the surge tank and if you corner hard can loose fuel pressure. I also really need to paint and fit my flairs properly.

Its been for sale on here for months, except I think he was asking more like $7500
  8. Its such an unsuspecting car from the outside too. Its not till you peer through the tint and see the cage or notice the brakes etc that you start to suspect what its really capable of. I laughed so hard when I you were lumped into the super sedans at round 1. :lolcry: Purpose built drag cars...... and what's that corolla doing lining up!? :hmm: :lolcry: Oh and I used to add some castrol caster in with fuel when I was still running an OMP. Smells so nice....... "Are you running that on Methanol?" :lolcry: Which is a fair question as its only the addition of castor oil to ethanol that makes methanol smell the way it does.
  9. If a K: Gasket - under $25..... if not genuine. Head facing - $44 including GST Then you just need some oil, coolant etc. If you don't know what you're doing then try and find somebody who can help like Phil's offer. Including the carton you should just about be able to fix it for under $100.

  11. Correct..... engine hat :lolcry: The rubber one isn't a front main seal (timing cover). Not too sure what it might be. Is the other side the same? Just a solid rubber ring?
  12. No worries mate. Wasn't on my laptop last night so couldn't upload the below pic then. This is a used EM30 on the small port head. You can see the bigport sized ports on the gasket. Only thing that might be an issue is the fact they don't have the water outlet into the manifold. Does your head have this?
  13. Possibly. Deffinately not a KE30/55 box OR a cable K-T bell. For what you'd pay to get the custom clutch plate made, compared to sourcing a 180mm FW IMHO I think you're better off just using the normal 180mm kit.
  14. Is that what you were/are driving in Japland - Silvia?
  15. So they were running 0.000 as a perfect reaction time not 0.400? Just added time. Did you realise that only your ET was faster that the previous time that was there? Your MPH and 60ft were slower!!
  16. qft I suggest you go and wiki search on how a waste gate works buddy. And ah.... you don't need a computer.
  17. In the theory it'll work but the 200mm pressure plate won't fit inside the bellhousing..... been there, done that after buying a $400 (mates rates) clutch! :bash:
  18. Try a permaseal EM30. If you search for that in "...." you might be able to find a pic of one I've posted before.
  19. Think it might be more so a matter of weather the coil can hold out until then rather than Ryan!!!
  20. haha the ethanol ate the rubber!!!! :lolcry:
  21. Wanna buy Dirt?
  22. Carter "green" - Goldish looking pump with a green sticker. 7psi at 70GPH. Highly reccomend using with a reg though. Do a quick search for "Carter" and I'm sure you can find one of my rants about why I like them.
  23. Believe it or not there is actually a RWD gearbox that will bolt to the ET motor..... being that from a Datsun 120Y (from memory). A guy I know down here has an E15ET in his suzuki sierra which goes quite well, problem is he seems to blow reverse gear out of it every time he has a half decent 4wd trip. Pretty sure he's been through quite a few boxes so far. The other problem with this is they are the ONLY GB you can use, so there's no up-grade options like a K-T or K-W. Please don't take the above as an endorsment to go ahead with the conversion..... I'm with everybody else and don't think its really worth it. You can make pretty good power out of a turbo K for not a heap of $, so maybe look down that path a bit more. Also click "Tar" in my sig for some turbo K info and pics.
  24. Evan - To put a k40 or k50 behind a 5k you have to use a 180mm 3/4k flywheel. There is no (off the shelf) kit to allow you to retain the 200mm 5k flywheel.

Installation would probably still be the same as a 6AL, it would just be a matter of hooking it up to a laptop etc to program it.
