  1. Depends which motor. 7KC has exactly the same sized ports (in & ex) as a 4k or 5k. 7KE has oval inlet ports, port and round out the ovals and you then have 3kbp sized inlets. Exhaust ports on the other hand are quite a bit larger than 4/5k. The 7ke also has fatter manifold bolts/studs too. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/23452-exhaust-port-size-differences/page__p__273324__hl__port__fromsearch__1
  2. Highly doubt you'd have a K-T50, but there's a pic of one here.... http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Tech:Engine/K_Series/Gearboxes Look for the verticle ribs.
  3. That was my "I haven't googled it" disclaimer.
  4. Just got this this afternoon.... Better to be safe than sorry.
  5. Nice job of the speaker pods!
  6. That would be were my Tomei Chrome Moly A12 pushrods came from!!!
  7. Weight of the engine won't really dictate the need for new springs. The desire for a sportier ride might though! Have a bit of a search of the tech area, there are quite a few thread about suspension upgrades and options. Search function is in the top right corner below your login.
  8. Your call, do you think it would be worth it? Maybe go get a job in the UN!!
  9. Do you know if those commonwhore shocks are a short stroke for the rolla? And what brand are they? .... or should I just ask Damon?
  10. Was gunna say! Think I paid around $700 EACH for brand new housing when I rebuilt mine a few years back. And they didn't require machining.
  11. Settle down ae824ate, even Steve Wonder could have seen English is obviously not his first language. To answer your question - The 7KE will always be the more efficient motor as it has EFI, simple as that. However, they're internally the same engine so they both have the potential to use just as much fuel if driven hard. The 7ke could possible even use more than a 7kc as they actually have bigger ports. Food for thought.
  12. Deffinately. With my old CT12 setup (only running 8-10psi) I went from not being able to hold a 2nd gear burnout (when it was NA with a weber) to easily churning 3rd!!!! That setup was a little torque monster though. Honestly I think a draw-through SC setup would probably be cheaper than a blow-through turbo. You don't need to do the same sort of fuel setup (a mechanical pump would do the job, just not ideally), don't need to make a manifold or j-pipe, no water and oil lines, no cooler or BOV, and you can pick up an SC12 or SC14 for around the same coin as a decent T25 or T28. Really also depends on where you want your power and/or torque.
  13. Suprised to see a few Isuzu "Gemini's" there!! KP47 And while I'm at it a pretty stout TE27....
  14. If you're keen man then deffinately. I would have bought a copy by now..... but I haven't got a working PS3 to play it on. :bash: Oh and I have to work at about 1:30 so would have to be Saturday morning.
  15. haha but he probably has all the little drift sluts.... and maybe some boys too wanting to jump his bones!! :lolcry:
  16. A pair or each? And are you talking new or second hand?
  17. FYI - 7k and 7afe rods have the same toyota part number..... and spool make 7afe rods.
  18. 5k + 3/4k head + mild cam + draw-through supercharger OR simple j-pipe blow-through turbo setup. Actually, pull that turbo off your WRX and fit it up to a 5k. I used to run a TD04-L and it was sooo perfectly suited, bugger allo lag but still really good top end. In a KE10 you'll lunch any bogan in his commonwhore, hell you'll give mildish VLT's a run for their money!!! :jamie:
  19. Clutch will love it...... gearbox and diff won't though. Good to see you got the FW machined too. Too many people overlook it. :jamie:
  20. Yeah RA40's had W40/50. are you sure your's were 55's? is the gearbox case steel or alloy. And yes a W50 (in normal RA40 form) is hydraulic clutch, but as soon as you bolt the K-W bellhousing to it it becomes a cable operated box as the litace was still cable.
  21. Would love to have a run but can't really afford my S2 and membership this close before xmas. Might come round for a look though. You going to test out the new carb setup Josh?
  22. Long time, no update. Just so people know I have not used this gearbox yet. Not long after getting it complete I ended up buying a K-T setup which is now in my turbo car "Tar". The K-W50 setup is sitting on a sheft and will hopefully be installed in another car soon.
  23. Yes shaft spline is different, but they are still cable..... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/12935-how-to-fit-a-w50-to-a-k-series-motor/
  24. Certainly do, if you've put one together you wouldn't doubt them. Tips for beginners when putting them together - Soak the hose in some HOT water for a little while prior. It'll make the hose slightly more flexi. Also wiping a small amount of grease or dishwashing liquid around the fitting or end of the hose helps. Also anybody thinking of using them - The fitting itslef isn't really any cheaper than a braided one, its the hose itself that can save you some coin.
  25. Most of mine are push lock, never had a drip from one of them. FYI - The straight are easy to fit into the hose. 90* and 45* ones ones the other hand are a bitch. I ended up with a bruise in the palm of my hand from doing them!!!
