  1. 7psi....... yeah right, I'm going 4agte then!! :jamie:
  2. Interesting thing you just made me remember - Yes a f1 engine can do 20,000rpm , but it does so with a very short stroke. A top fuel drag car only does 9000rpm, but the piston moved like half a foot in its stroke. This actually means that the top fuel engine has a faster piston speed than and F1 engine. From memory @ 9000rpm the piston is doing something crazy like 170 strokes per second!!! :jamie:
  3. Easiest and cheapest way would be to get a weber adapter plate and use the EFI system off the first EFI falcon as then you can use the stock manifold.
  4. C = Californian emmission standards. :jamie:
  5. Correct, draw-through is easier as the carb is not under boost pressure. Saying that though you do need to make sure the turbo has carbon seals as it'll have fuel running through it.
  6. Do you get todays email from Troy Wood? I might update the tassie section drag thread and upload the attachements.
  7. Plenty of good roads mate as I'm sure you're aware of. I'm not real busy at the end of this week so I'll draw you a little map with some suggested targa stages. :P Oh and don't forget to drop into Launy as that were most Tassie rollaclub members reside.
  8. Whats an engineer!? Good turn out for the test and tune Prewer? I was workjing, would have liked to have had a look.
  9. Madrolla also had a pretty hypo NA 5k with twin sidies and a 50 shot IIRC, just before goin g turbo. I'm sure you could find the thread somewhere about it. Here ya go.... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=7336
  10. Turbo 4afc would be a bit pointless IMHO when you could just drop in a 4age/gze and boost that. If you want to persist then just do some searching for K series blow-through info. All of the pricipals are still the same. :P
  11. Pretty much what Dave and i were discussing via PM. :D Dave - Can you cut and paste our conversation from PM into Steves thread here (including my dodgy paint pic)? I'm flat out at work and don't have time.
  12. Look like they might be waste spark dualies. It has to be a 5k I think. Can't run a dished head on a flat top motor as comp would ne bullshit high. And given the rarety of 4ku's in aus I'd again say 5k. Guy also swore he had a time slip for the 12 second pass in his ebay add.
  13. 13's sounds a bit more realistic. The other 2 guys I have4 mentioned have run 13's...... but both were in KE10's, so quite a bit lighter than that 30. The guy was swearing black and blue on ebay that it was a 3k. However I just noticed in this pic...... ....lugs! :D
  14. You don't need the mechanical advancement on boost, as the timing needs to be backed off. The BTM unit lets you run normal mechanical and vacuum advancement for off-boost drivability. Then as soon as it sees boost it'll stant pulling out timing at your present ratio being 1, 2 or 3 degrees of timing per psi. So if you're running 15psi you can have between 15-45 degrees of retarding. Mechanical advancement should get up to about 40*, so I think 1* per psi should be fine. Then at full revs on boost you'll be running around 25* which is pretty much perfect. Only problem with the BTM's is they're around $700 retail. If you can get mates rates somewhere you could probably get one for around $400.
  15. That would be the one I mentioned above. PM Radrollaz for some pics of it, he might still have them saved somewhere.
  16. Have you ever looked into ignitions like a MSD 6A BTM (boost timing master)? they pull out 1-3* of timing per psi so you can still have full mechanical advance for off-boost drivability, as well as adequately retarded on-boost timing.
  17. Lol at "Prancing Moose"!!! :P :D
  18. As all have said love the setup and how stealth it looks. You really would just think its just a standard engine bay if you didn't know better. :P I also like the idea of being able to convert back to NA in a couple of hours easily. Draw through makes things so much simpler. Had it on a dyno yet? Surely there would be a bit more to be had out of it with a small weber. They can make a bit of difference on a stocko NA one so I do see why you wouldn't get half decent gains on this. Maybe even to stick with the stealth look you can have a look at another members stealth EFI system from an early falcon. I'll find you a link..... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=18354
  19. The 3k that I found this with was from a KE30. I'll dig out the 3k PS mount and take a pick of it next to a 4/5k one.
  20. They mentioned these laps on top gear last night so I thought I'd have a look on da tube today.... and quickly beaten by..... Zonda did seam a lot more settled though.
  21. This 'bucket seat' looks pretty cheap!!!....
  22. Thought you would be keen.
  23. Oh trev  good work. I did LOL. Thats the shit Red, now I'm back in my confort zone  ...... You're gunna fly high, you're never gunna die, you're gunna make it if you try.....
  24. Between 3k > 4/5k just the passenger side mount is different. Driver side is the same. Its were it bolts to the block - 4/5k have a step in the mount and the bolts go into the block at different levels. IIRC the 3k one was completely flat. Did you maybe space out the step with washers?
  25. Its not so much the load that it has on it, its the speed of the cycles. Yeah I realise relays can go through millions of cycles in the life time, but they normally don't have to switch on and off so many time in a short space of time. An ignitor could deffinately handy the load and quick switching (as thats what they do) but the problem is they don't have an "87a" equivalent to let current flow through a secondary circuit when the ignitor is not triggered. doecke55 - RE PM, click on the link trev posted and there's diagrams on pages 3 & 5.
