I supose you don`t want to hear that my new 2.5di turbo mazda bt50 gets about 430-460km on 35ltrs and with my rolla on a trailer on the back would still smoke a v6 falcadore!! :lolcry: Back to business who is interested in going to the proposed meet for lunch at noojee good scenery etc. From memory the food at the pub was good too. It will take approx 1hr45min to 2hr to drive from Northland shopping town to Noojee. I would prefer also to meet the pack at a stop in Lyllidale, a bit less driving from the peninsula. I`ll also have to call the pub to find out what time and if they even have lunch. Time would be about 10 - 10:30 leave would also depend on the pub lunch serving times but there is two in town. Just some ideas. stu.

The 11th sounds good BIG month with johns picnic then ours then the cccv but i have to go to that one, as the meet point is about 15min from my place. I`ll do some research on times etc and get back. stu.

I think there was also a cccv meet somewhere around there i`ll check and get back stu.

SORRY JP i got a bit caugth up over the weekend. Seeing as a few people drive well less performance based vehicles and seeing as i havent got a brake booster at the moment I'm one of them. A Tea and Bickies run has been called for. My idea was from maybe Northlands first meet up to Lyllidale, Yarra Junction, Powelltown and stopping at Noojee pub for lunch bit of a look around then back again. Just a thought stu.

Whats that you say more KE-1X`s coming please please please!!!!! I may consider putting off the sc-12 fitment and use some money to make mine look a bit nicer over the chrissy break. Don`t worry Jarrad I'm there 100% even if we have to go to Warnambool, have heaps of long service leave owing. I may also have a spare seat IF i get the front guards rolled for some reason it only scrubs that side badly. stu.

kickn5k replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in The Event Archive
You never know Mick, Ben may bring the team DORIFTO BMW could be a fun trip for you. I may have one spare seat and if its fitted the sc-12 will help with the extra person, at least i hope it does. I will be lipping the front guards aswell so that will make my trip a little better too. looking foward to this one people. hope to meet a few more rollaheads from SA. stu. -
Yeah sorry about that wrong log in. That aurion colour is ace although i havent seen too many of this colour in the aurion getting about yet, could have something to do with the 4-5 month wait on most new toyotas though. We all do understand the difficulties of being on your L-plates even though for me it was toooo many years ago. It does make it hard that you have to have someone with you while driving but it makes all the effort of getting your P`s well worth it. good luck with your rolla. It is good to see more people in the vic section too. stu.

I'm pretty sure i spotted "gze82`s" red and black AE-82 sprinter at Al`s custom exhausts on hammond rd Dandy. on Friday. I work in the same factory block and saw it on my lunch break. No photos sorry it was as i said red and black with black wheels. stu.

Were they not an oldsmobile v8? Thats what my old boss told me when he was making the pistons at the repco f1 programe but i may be wrong. 1. light 2. powerfull, good idea but may screw the budget just a little. I`ve heard customers spending 30k plus just rebuilding these things. great engine in 2.5ltr, 3ltr and 3.5ltr. if we are just dreaming here what about a scat v4 motor same as a sb chev just half of it. they run all chev parts and make great power in class buggy racing. 2.6l eh there is a guy in vic that has a genuine pw turbo sigma makes around 230rwkw on straight LPG great economy and huge amounts of power. any turbo engine on gas straight away makes it different just a thought. stu.

I have read the toymods thread and i think i may have a few suggestions for you: fuel pressure may be too high 1 1/2" su`s don't like anymore than 2 psi. The breather on these carbies are a bit dicky any blockage in the breather will create a similar issue. I beat my head against the wall with blocked breathers for months. stu.

I have these things on my car i had it so close to perfect "i thought", then i take it to a place with a dyno that know twin carbs, they tuned it and it was a totally different car. it is really really worth getting someone to look at them. These guys tune my car they are good with su`s but better with webers!! Mammi motors PH: (03) 59777973. sommerville VIC Gerald is the person you need to speak to. hope that is some help.

NANNA no more ladies i may have the rolla running 5-k boosted by then just need throttle cable and surge pot and i have everything for an sc-12 on the 5-k "bring on the boost" stu.

Hey Jarrad the only reason we don't complain about commodores is because (a) they don't handle (b) they look like eveything else on the road. I could keep going but id sound like i hated them "actually i do" Which make our cars look and perfom sooo much better. More euro beasts awesome not my choice but a 911 is like a mustang evryone would have one!!! lucky man stu.

This is correct information, as hydro lifters well sort of don't run clearance you only need to set the lifter preload when building engine and thats it. liffter preload is usually 1/4 turn to lock into the liffter. If you need a full description there is a heap of tech stories in the likes of the V8 magazines as alot of them run hydro set ups and its the same proceedure for the 5K to the small block Ford or Holden/Chev V8. hope that helps stu.

i think this area would be a good idea dfunct said he`d like something out that way, the only prob is that it is a mountain and my downhill mountain bike wont fit in the rolla. it would give me a chance to scout for trails though so I'm in!!!!! stu.
-
And you call my car old. I just thought i might put my 2 cents worth in and say "Mercury`s are for men and chevs are for sheilas" a 6cyl chev takes about 2hrs to wind up to a 100kmh so you don't have to stress about speeding fines then. don't forget the to take some panels off as the GOR lanes are not quite wide enough for an oceanliner let alone a 55 chev. in all seriousness it will be a good run for you mate as long as you have shares in shell. I'm in for this one by the way, and to the people that didn`t make the last one it is a great weekend and i really can`t recomend this one enough. hope its as good as last one Jarrod and Mel did a great job organizing the last one so more people would be great. stu.

Hey sim, Check out this thread for a good paint shop in dandenong they painted gze82`s ae-86 sprinter i saw it on the Arthurs Seat cruize and it looks better in real life. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=11145 stu.

I am proceeding to look at more power than the pissy 48rwkw in my ke-11 so its solid cam conversion, head porting increase comp from 10.2:1 to about 11:1, i will be making new pistons for this engine so i may try a different bowl shape for a better burn, etc. As the 1 1/2" su`s i have are not going to cut it because of rpm/airspeed issues and i have a 7k setup complete i was considering using this as i don't have the money for webers just yet. So basically my question is is it going to be worth changing to efi or get 1 3/4 su`s. If someone has done this conversion i would love some power figures and engine mods to help make up my mind. stu.

Oh forgot, Lou Mondello, (03) 9555 9591 Wren rd Moorabin. Apparentllly he is at a classic rally at moment but i also don't have a price for him he is actually a Datsun 2000 roadster specialist. but can also tune su`s

hey i had the needles reasonably close so it only cost me $80 for the tune and about $70 for them to re do the breather setup cheap concidering a mate just had a set of triple webers tuned at another shop and it cost $900. South eastern carburetors in dandenong sorted me with needles at about $35 each, on my 5K with 1 1/2" carbs i run the stock .090" main jet and a number 6 needle. I spoke to Gerald friday to book a relick on the tune on my car and he preached on a set of weber`s/delorto`s just be ready for that but yes they tune them but I'm not too sure on there range of jets there. Mammi motors Sommerville (03) 59777973 $66 per hour for dyno tune plus parts stu.
