Some guy i was talking too on the weekend was saying that the springnats might not be held in Shepparton this year and he`d heard it was going to be in Albury if at all. This is only maybe 50th hand information so don't count it as truth. If anyone knows can it be posted so eveyone knows. stu.

[mel] Arthurs Seat Cruz + Photo Shoot 1st July 2007
kickn5k replied to riced_corolla's topic in VIC / Melbourne
i might meet your group along the way as i live close to aurthurs seat give some more details or pm me which way your going. The problem in getting more people from this forum to do this run is that we have just done it. but am interested so keep posted stu. -
I have used wade before although they weren`t for K motors all performed as they were intended and last quite well. and the guy that tunes my corolla recomends clive cams he says he was wade`s apprentice. hope that helps stu.

I am pretty sure my master is just stock ke-11 one with the ke-20 strut and brake coversion, seems to stop ok not good or great just ok. So I'm going to use a remote booster and see how much better it is. stu.

So if a solid SBC/Holden lifter with A12 pushrods work, i was thinking that if you didn`t want to change from hydraulic cam, then a bigish regrind on a hydraulic cam with anti pump up SBC/Holden lifters would have to be at least better than a std setup. Just thought it may work but in saying that I'm still not sure, any thoughts? stu.

Hey Myles, Sorry forgot to post up here on the change to car, IT is the most value for money modification i have ever done!! car now sits reasonably flat on corners(still deciding if in need a rear one), and alot more stable at 100kmh hwy speeds. It ended up costing me trade price $185 for the bar and $100 to fit it at my local(Frankston) peders. As ROL-110 said to me "its one of those mods you wish you had done at the start" In short yes they make a big difference to the way the ke-1x`s handle. I`ll post some photos tomorrow if it stops raining. stu.

Thanks to everyone for coming and making the day what it was. Hope to see everyone soon. stu.

I can't belive some people that drive 4`s or 6`s and whinge about the price of fuel, your making me think about it and i drive a v8 :D Thats why i have a classic 4cyl so i can afford to do these runs, even though i missed the cccv run. The new sway bar totally changed the old girl so much safer and twisties rock now!! Pull the 20v engine out and check the crank etc. i may be able to help with a good price on bits. I have just been shopping and got like 20 snags and some bread, when webers calls we`ll get a bit more. Can`t wait promising to be a good day. stu.

And also a long way to drive her with a rattly big end bush it may run for 200km or only 200m, just don't know. I have sway bar fitted also, so i`ll do a run to find a couple of stops during the week to find a stop or two and get used to the new found handling the sway bar has given it. Until then Leigh or i will have maps with us at lyndhurst meet point so for those that haven`t met webers or myself look out for a white ke-11 a also white Ae-82 seca "twinky" and hopefully our mates hothouse green lc torana. see ya. stu.

My sway bar has arrived and booked to be fitted tomorrow arvo. So i`ll post its change when i have a drive either tomoz or tuesday. stu.

Jarrad Wouldn`t want to take a month!! I'm upset now i could only imagine if i had to wait a month. Also i think Pixelated goat(shane) and sheguel(ben) were also interested, but i`ll have to check with the pozman. stu. Oops forgot to mention if swaybar not fitted might only come to northlands on sunday.
-
Well if peders get off there you know what!!! i may have the swaybar for this one, still hasn`t arrived and now I'm getting upset. They told me a week a week and a half ago. So i may miss the cccv run as the forcast say 18 and rain with no swaybar it gets a little scary. Good to see the list getting bigger, good to finally show people the mornington peninsula has more to offer than just "Smack heads". hahaha. Looking forward to it. stu.
-
iam still waiting for the swaybar to arrive so when its in ill post the change if any. stu.
-
Good luck with the rego mate hanging to see it the photos look great. Still waiting on swaybar id like it fitted for the cccv run so I'm used to it for some twinky hunting lol "i wish" good to see so many interested people. stu.
-
Yes as said by Jarrad, webers and i will probably put on some snags and burgers etc. Should be a good run, webers and i will be doing a trial run next weekend from our place to get a time etc. Also to try out my new sway bar "very nice" stu.

Hey Scott, I whent to peders on friday to check on sway bars and they don`t use whiteline "doh" but they do use "signature stabiliser bars" they have front and rear kits for the ke-1x`s. 22mm front kit. 16mm rear kit. They are $210 retail each and the guy at peders said about $65 to fit each. I'm getting the front one fitted next week, was going to bite bullet and order both but on the advice of Doug i thought id just get the front for time being and see how it goes. Let you all know how it goes oh ill post up part numbers when i get them. Thanks for the help Doug. stu.

Pozman on his ke-55 has used corona xt 130 struts modified to fit coilovers with hilux ln 106 4 spot calipers same pad part no as rx 7 with pug 504 vented disks(db272) Felix is that swaybar a universal kit or for a specific make, as I'm getting one on the weekend from pedders. Thanks stu.
-
This may seem like a silly question but the mini is that a series 3, as there are a few things i havent seen on a s 1 round nose. The bonnet vents and the bars are a little different from the 63 that the guy next door owns. All hail gavclassic on all his weapons they are sick. stu.

Got it in one, the other issue was lancia had two drivers and two navigators killed in there grp b cars aswell as countless spectators. The movie "to fast to race" explains it all. considering they made 600hp most of them the acceleration of these things were insane. These new super 2000 cars are a tech masterpiece, probably the closest thing to a dirt F1 car.
-
Welcome Andy. Sweet rolla, wheels look great. hope to see it on the next run. stu.
-
With high 290ish horse and all wheel drive and lighter than the turbo car they say its farster than the turbo car on a tight stage but you have to be on 120%. THAT THING IS EVIL!!!!! I still feel rallying died the day they canned group B cars. Imagine sitting in something that did 0-100 in under three seconds like this. I love lancia`s supercharged and turbo charged. stu.

I know this thread is for rollas but when you see one of these parked in the shopping center across the road i had to post some photos, Well i do live in frankston so you just don`t see this everyday. and as per the owner it is a GT continental "not the stocker slug"

Hi Darren, When mammi`s dynoed my corolla we found a near stock cam in her as it only made strong power to 6000rpm and 47rwkw. Gerald told me to speak to Clive at clive cams as he would do a full custom grind if i wanted eg. he could mix grinds to get it to work right, he may be worth a call. the phone number is 9758 5977. good luck with it as I'm still not sure which way i whant to go. stu. p.s. got the sticker its on the car thanks
-
Nah mate it was going to be too much of a muck around to get on the road. and the cheaper one only had a 2t not 2tg.
-
Scott When i saw sus 020 on the vid i thought you were a bit on the crazy side but now I'm convinced. Thats sick. Good luck with it all 80 rolla coupe these things were the best locally built six untill the ba xr6t but not everone has that sort of budget. These engines respond really well to basic mods. Like intercoolers, exhausts and boost. and that little ke55 will be a jet. and i love the 55 coupes too. stu.
