I`ll second that mine were done Dec 28th 2006 its been on two rollaclub great ocean road runs, a few long trips with some other clubs and a fair bit of running around(at least once a week) and it is still in tune and other than runnig real rich at idle which it has allways done its still good. Find a good carby guy to tune it and you shouldn`t have a problem. stu.

I will not be able to make it sorry tate. I pulled the car out on sunday and the brake master cyl is now really bad pedal whent to the floor 3 times while driving. And i was wanting to nurse it to phillip island classic on the next weekend. stu.

I remember hearing about that boat. I had a SBC drag car piston in the other week that we had made. It looked pretty much the same as that except the rod was bent really bad but not broken. I`ll have to dig up my old phone and get the photo. stu.

Who Would Be Interested In Ke1x T Shirts
kickn5k replied to Matt-e30's topic in Automotive Discussion
here is a photo of my ke-11 on the rollaclub Great ocean road trip on the Australia day weekend. I can get the full file for this photo or there is a couple more on the vic section (GOR run thread) "pixelated goat`s photobucket" I'm keen as. 1 or 2 -
Wow so with the oversize wheels, the oversize dump pipe, the TRD badge on the dash, the NEONS and the braided hose Webers seca should be making about 900whp, should be good for high 8`s haha Chute and cage time for you mate. stu.

What a boat!!! The R32 is the real "Godzilla" and the only one that looks any good in my opinion. The other thing is that it will be PINK! well it is a nissan at the end of the day. stu.

Is this the bastard child that you have in the driveway or your slowcar towcar? its just that its hard to pick which ones which as the ride heights are close to the same. haha. Either way do you really want to be on webers list"that will make two of your cars then", thats why ill wait to race him at calder when the boost is in. stu.

Yeah dfunkt speaking to a few people namely pozman and a few others "i`ll slap you if you butcher that car" i think was said by more than one. I think i`ll be chasing another car. Young kid next door has a spare mini shell, midmount track car would be the optimum setup i feel. The engineer was not too keen on the idea of having electric motors for reverse gear, and as i really feel that these ke-1x`s are scarce enough on the road rego is high on the list. I am still really keen for a bike engine in a car so i`ll keep all informed. stu.

The car looks great Matt hope to see it in the flesh in the next couple of days ill send you a text. stu.

Yeah not an issue PM sent. stu.

i`ll third that, seems to me that you have an abundant amount of knoledge about cars in general. This should be a great show and some people off here could do quite well on this show i may even try to enter myself for a bit of a laugh. What about Cam "Mr moparman" for the stig., if you have seen him steer that dead stock 2 speed KE-20, it is a sight to behold. "nearly has the inside off the ground through corners" stu.

Yeah i spose your right, it was just that i had heard of a cheap high klm written off hyabusa but the motor was a bit smokey. Looked like it would be a good project, may just have to buy a cheap clubman cart with no motor and mod the frame a little and shove it in that. this is what got me interested.

Hey guy`s, Ive been looking into totally weird and different engine combinations for my KE-11. These are the things I'm after. 1. Different too what most people do 2. Available to be but back to stock easilly.(so not butchered) 3. Really light. 4. make around 280hp+ So in keeping with my list i have been looking around to see what could be done. Easiest would be a rotory but i make custom forged pistons and a rotor wouldn`t go down too well with the boss, and i don't own a charcoal chicken shop lol. So i have decided a turbocharged bike motor would be the go a guy in Sweden has a turbo(mild) honda fireblade in his mark 2 escort it makes about 250hp. And there are a lot of mini`s with hyabusa motors in england and a company there will make an adapter to suit the sproket drive from the gear box(which if i could be bothered i could make myself) but the best bit is that all you would need was to make a aircraft alum cradle to sit the engine and box in and its done. Have made pistons for a turbo busa before and it seems to be a common sort of upgrade to these bikes(are they not evil enough?) and they seem to make anything from 280-400hp depending on tune and turbo size. now i just need to find a crashed busa and I'm set, so i will be supercharging my 5k to keep me happy until its found. I will be talking to my engineer once they are back from holidays to see if it will be easy to engineer. should be something for all to discuss. stu.

Hey man thats probably about the time i was going to be pulling the ke-11 off the road to do the supercharger and EFI conversion. May have to put off that as it would good to get a time to compare, I'm in. Oh and i finnish work at 2:30 on fridays so it should be sweet. Tate i recon we should try and get a heads up race 5k v 5k. stu.

I`ll back that up 150% i had mine dynoed on Dec the 28th 2006 and havent had to touch them since. I love the sound of su`s on a K motor or on anything for that fact but in saying that if i wasn`t changing to to EFI and supercharged and i had an unlimited budget then i would go webers. stu.

The large rear shackles bushes are almost imposible to find through the normal sort suspension supplier"i tried for two months" Then i went to peders Frankston and they hunted and found that early cortina ones will sort of work if you`ve got a lathe that is. The small ones are available through peders etc. The tie rod end should be the same from peders aswell. If its the large bushes ill post the part number a little later. stu.

tas_ae71, I hope you didnt take take my post as a dig at you or your knowledge as it was not intended too. I didnt fully clarify that it was only about 16-18 psi because anymore and the car would just torch the tyres on the dyno with 3 people in the boot or not. Performance lpg just seems a little bigger here in VIC as there are a heap of real tough blown v8`s a fair few rb30 turbos on gas and even a 1ggte powered ta 22 celica. But i also do agree that a 4age would probably be as cheap to run as a hotty 5k on lpg, and would make more power std and also behave on the road alot better on the road. Camerondownunder88, For sure 7k ftw looks stock and makes torque and heaps of it everywhere. oh and in vic seem to be easier to find than 5k`s through wreckers. stu.
-
Looks like you`ll be driving to VIC for the GOR weekend mate. Nothing like a trip to mexico to run er in. Coming up great looks awesome. stu.
-
If you want power out of your 5k that too can be turbocharged and with LPG would be great, there are a couple of guys on here with turbo setups and a few supercharged ones aswell(i hope to have my s/c 12 setup running just after Easter) Hope that may give you some ideas. You may find a few in the rides section. BUT at the end of the day its your car and your choice on how to build it and you and only you need to be happy with it. Also sprinters are getting real hard to find in ok condition id expect to pay $4,000 for a driver in average to good condition.(well thats what id pay anyway). good luck with the project. :lolcry: What about a 7K? stu. p.s. also keep in mind engineers if your going anything but a K motor the last thing you want is to be put off the road just after its on the road.
