If you want power out of your 5k that too can be turbocharged and with LPG would be great, there are a couple of guys on here with turbo setups and a few supercharged ones aswell(i hope to have my s/c 12 setup running just after Easter) Hope that may give you some ideas. You may find a few in the rides section. BUT at the end of the day its your car and your choice on how to build it and you and only you need to be happy with it. Also sprinters are getting real hard to find in ok condition id expect to pay $4,000 for a driver in average to good condition.(well thats what id pay anyway). good luck with the project. :lolcry: What about a 7K? stu. p.s. also keep in mind engineers if your going anything but a K motor the last thing you want is to be put off the road just after its on the road.
  3. Why wouldnt you want to run LPG 50 odd cents, octane rating as good as some race fuels. More power from running on petrol I'm not too sure as a good customer at work(I work for special piston services) he has a ESP XE falcon 4l, 6cyl with 1000hp garrett rolla turbo and Gas Reaserch LPG system makes 520 rwkw and is the worlds fastest "LPG" powered vehicle at 10.20ET`s may not sound that quick but an XE isnt a light car by any strech. Also on the up side as gas burns a hell of alot cleaner than petrol so engineers will pretty much engineer anything on LPG. As i make pistons I'm not a big fan of the rotary engine but as i also have a KE-11 i know there is bugger all room in there so a rotary or 4agte may be your only options as bang for buck goes and i would go a rotary as its alot cheaper. My Question to you p_schrapel is why would you whant to butcher something as rare as a KE-15 with anything other than a K motor is beyond me but atleast its will hopefully be a toyota engine. stu.

My 5k stock other than a little comp 10:1 baby crow cam, twin 1 1/2 su`s and 4 into 1`s made 50 rwkw @ 5700 well thats when it hit the power brick wall and just kept revving making no more power. But seeing as they are stock 5k ports in the head thats to be expected. So yeah your 4K seems real healthy considering thats a stock carb reading. stu.

  11. I like most others would prefer to go to portland not just to have less of a drive for the SA people, i would also like to see a fair bit more of the best road in AUS. Is apollo bay maybe our only option? Its only Leighroy and Benny that are the bad element of last years group!!! If you told the people that run the place in apollo bay that they were not coming then would they take us? hahaha stu.

  13. This would have to be one of the best presented Ipra ive seen for a while, great effort. Also is that a merc 190E cosworth in the last couple of photos? a mate has a rusted out one that he imported from overseas that we will put all the good bits in his stock and registered 190E.   16. Thanks for the head info its just that I'm tooooo lazy to pull the 4K apart to check it at the moment. The swaybar is the best mod ive done yet totally transformed her, I'm waiting to either lock the diff or lsd and then i`ll experiment with a rear one, and some Yokohama motorsport tyres. On the piston front i was wanting to find out if these heads are easy to find ill use one as i`ll be able to use a shallower dish and achive a better burn. It wont cost me as much as you may think as i work for Special Piston Services and make custom made forged pistons. here are some i have prepaired earlier. These were made for a nitro turbo Harley Davidson
  17. Wow that was a heap of interest in this thread after a quick update. Cameron, Felix and Taz_rx thanks for the conformation on what will and wont work with the lifter and pushrod package. Still not sure which 4k head i have but i think its a dish top, i`ll have to use that or sorce another one as my 5k head was apparentlly decked pretty severe to get 10:2 to 1 on dished i will be starting to make new forged pistons with larger bowls in the very near future just want to get through sime cruises in the next couplle of months and the great ocean road trip and then it will all happen maybe in a bid for 8-9 psi for Easternats. Matt it still scapes a little but about 80% less since i put the 22mm front swaybar in, i`ll be getting the guards rolled properlly for that weekend. stu.

  22. Its been a while since there has been an update and that 65 rwkw figure will hopefully be blown out of the water literally. Might have to add SC-12 supercharger to the list and chasing about 90 plus rwkw with the 7-k injection. Only decided to do this when a mate in QLD said that because he is casing more power than the sc-12 can make for his ae 101 4agze20v powered ke 70 drift car "its just siiting there pay for postage and its yours". the list off bits i need are : surge tank. catch can. throttle cable. forced induction grind cam. Datsun A-12 pushrods and holden solid lifters. stu.

  24. They Engineered my rolla with "don't laugh" a slightlly and very slightlly wormed over 5k "know it all f*&ktard at vicroads" My cert was $450 plus gst but was because i didnt need a brake test. Make sure that the state of tune is pretty good as they do not just a db test but a sniff test. All i had to do was knock sum noise out and he wasnt happy with my harnesses as there was no adr tags only date tags for cams approval. All up cost me $780 for the lot. They are really good to deal with though as long as youve done the conversion with commonsense in mind you wont have any probs. stu. p.s. great idea would have prob done the same with my ke-11 if i wasnt working making pistons.

As title says john`s rod and custom show/picnic is on over the weekend of 2-4th nov in Pakenham.(I think) Some of the best rods and customs in the state will be there, even some that the Nobbler has worked on!!! Just wondering if anyone other than the nobbler, webers and myself will be going? i`ll be in "rony" my white ke-11. stu.
