  1. ;) More torque, more power, and a bolt in replacement to the 4K. Really is a good upgrade to the 4K. If you "have the chance" to get one, and have the time/ability to do it, I'd recommend it.
  2. Carlton Draught Anything in a cask Same as above ;) Serious about the draught (also Coldies are good), as for wine, I have no idea. Don't ever drink the stuff. Also, Happy Birthday :(
  3. Confidence is the key in a driving test. If you know the basics, just do them in the test like you would any other time, and just don't stress and look incompetent. Good luck with it. :yak:
  4. Sounds almost like an exact replica of the dramas that happened to mine! Starter died, new starter went in then a wire shorted and sent the rest up in smoke. If anything else follows suit, make sure you have a spare welsh plug on hand once it is running :yak: Hopefully she'll be up and running without any other dramas once the new starter arrives. Be good to see some videos of it driving :y: Looks good :loo: -Alex
  5. I think mine was around the $200 mark aswell. Are they even supposed to turn at a greater RPM? I thought it was just the initial turn had a heap more torque as opposed to the standard one or something along those lines. All I know is that they work well :yak:
  6. I think both look pretty good, but I'd have to say, for me, the black looks the best. Might look a bit better with less tint though :yak:
  7. I had the exact same problem with mine when the rebuilt 5K went in. Was using the old 4K starter which managed to turn it twice then give up. Replaced with a new reduction starter and had no worries. Higher compression + a tight new engine might just be a bit much for your current one to handle :y: But also check what KE30_KE35_KE55 suggested.
  8. So tell me this: Do you like the smell of acetone while your eating your Big Mac? My take of it.
  9. Coming of an Alfa, I'm guessing that it'd be likely to be a side draught, so an adaptor plate would be useless. You'd need to get a new manifold, linkage kit to suit, new filter and then pay the money for however much it will cost to get tuned properly. And generally extractors need to be fitted when using after market manifolds, so there is more money for them and an exhaust too (or just modify the stock one) It will be a pretty expensive task for little to no power gain if it is a stock engine, but if you have done work to it, or plan on it in the future, then it will seem a little more justified. If the "option" of running it is just because you have it sitting there, I don't think it is really the best route. No, Yes, Yes but a 40mm would be better (assuming stock engine)
  10. Mad. That is pretty cool, worked for me first go. I'd like to know how it works... :|
  11. Damn this car is nice! Looks like you've done a really good job on the conversion too, grats :jamie: Any chance of getting some videos up soon? :|
  12. I'd be very interested in going to a meet depending on what date, as I am still waiting on my car to be tuned at the moment. I think that if more people express interest and you start working out dates, that'll be the best indication I have of whether or not I'll be ready. Definitely hope that I can make one as it looks like a good days fun :y:
  13. Wow! Was it some crazy circumstance like getting knocked out and hitting the wicket or just some small concentration lapse and stepping onto the stumps? Such an uncommon way to get out for any batsman, let alone Tendulkar.
  14. Yeah I know it is actually pretty weird. Something that I've never really taken notice of, but yeah we get both Prime and 7 and Win and Nine. Really have no idea why. Also, how about AB DeVilliers getting out. First I've seen someone get out hit wicket (that I can recall)
  15. Haha, Mine has a great big dirty "WIN" in the corner. Nine/Win, I think they are one in the same. :y:
  16. What the hell you doing watching Ten when the cricket is on Win! :(
  17. Dear sweet Jesus. :( Front wise, maybe go with AE86 struts and look down the FC brake upgrade? Even XT130 struts with the Hi-lux/Peugeot 4spot upgrade. Both those struts will give a wide variety of inserts that can be used, and also can easily be converted to coilovers. Going with the S13 route, one thing is that you will gain a hell of a lot of track at the front, so I doubt you'll be able to fit those rims in the picture under the guards. Rear wise. As AE70 said, what diff are you running?
  18. I used the stock linkage setup with my old 32/36. Basically get a welder and use your imagination a bit. All I did was use the stock throttle wheel and mod it so it fit onto the Weber shaft, then just made a steel bracket to fix the throttle cable to. I would post up a picture of it, however the Weber and manifold have since given way to better things.
  19. Getting smacked by the wooden spoon. Oh the memories. Laughing was not the best option.
  20. Pole, chain and a rope. Makes it possible to remove a 4k and box together, so should be a piece of cake just lifting out a stripped 4AC.
  21. ^^ Sounds to me like the starter. Mine had the exact same problem. Brand new battery and leads to the starter and it still had trouble kicking over a tired 4K. Replaced with a new reduction one after it failed to be able to turn the 5K and I haven't had any problems since. Grab a multimeter and do a few tests though before spending money on a new battery or starter. :P Regarding ticking sound, if you need the car a daily and can't afford to take it off the road, best bet would be to just put up with it for the mean time and perhaps just buy another 4K in better condition from a running car. It's probably easier and cheaper to just pull the old one out if something major happens and replace it with another one over a weekend with some mates, rather than rebuild the one you have. But like others have said, just drive it till it dies.
  22. Pics or it never happened.
  23. So how did you enjoy your stay in Wagga Wagga Towe001? I take it from your avatar and comment that is was baaaaad :) (I detected sarcasm in it) Hope that it didn't ruin your Christmas ;)
