  1. The extra 2 fittings on the bottom are only relevant to autos. You would have worked out that its of little consequence by now. Its looking great!
  2. Yeah basically what he said /\. Ive had the exact same setup on a blacktop motor and a silvertop motor. As in, same throttle bodies, ecu, flywheel, ignition, clutch, cooling system, exhaust, fuel system. Everything. They drive very similarly, with the silvertop having a slightly more satisfying time from 4500-6000rpm. The Blacktops are definately better over 6000 revs. Smoother, just happier. Put it down to the rods and lift I guess. Peak power was around 7400rpm with the blacktop, and around 7200 with the silvertop. There really isnt much difference once you use all the same kit. As for how it works in the car, Id have to say, even with a less than ideal tune, the Blacktop wanted to rev out faster and feels like it has more potential.
  3. Arent they on ebay?
  4. I reckon it was someone you know if they brought it back. Not the mark of a seasoned joyrider or theif. One of the neighbours will have a story to tell.
  5. Just do what everyone else does and go get a Manual for it from the auto parts shop and get started. Noone will spoonfeed you every tidbit you want in a time frame that suits you. Dissing the members of the forum isn't a good idea if you want to make friends and get help from people.
  6. Stop Stressing, It looks awesome!
  7. You definitely earned the chute. Even things like a wheel alignment are very particular for drag cars, the front tends to lift, the rear tends to squat, so you need to set it up a bit different to compensate for how the car sits under power with the front end just barely touching the road and the struts elongating. I'm sure your all over it anyhow. This car is amazing.
  8. You know its quick when you have a parachute. Wow. There's a good mechanic at Rocklea that I use who does suspension work for some very quick cars, including a 9 second HR. I can PM you his details if you want a little help getting all that power to the ground. All the best with the old girl.
  9. 4afe bottom end, bigport head, plus turbo. Cheap decompression and turbo it hard. Perfect for a burnout car. Boost and a bottom end you can lunch and go again cheaply. Just a thought.
  10. Welcome. can't wait to see pics!
  11. I'm not certain about this but I heard the t3 one doesnt fit just perfect in a rwd engine bay in an adm sprinter. Left-right hand drive complications, theres more detailed discussions on ae86driving club.
  12. If its twin cam its not a 4ac, maybe a 4afe. Sounds like the autos shitty.
  13. Id be more worried they wouldnt suit the car. But hey, go get some diablos or gestalt virouge and be like everyone else.
  14. At what point do we realize that these cameras will disappear really fast once people start vandalising them. They've tried the cameras everywhere thing in many countries before. Once you destroy 10 or so cameras worth around 30k each they seem to give up. Why do you think they removed the tidal flow system from coronation drive? Maintenance costs. Push up the maintenace cost and they will abandon the system. One man with a silenced 22 could be a hero and end this madness for everyone.
  15. Anyone who claims to have attention to detail should bow to Davros. WOW. Thats inspiring!!
  16. Just go to a reputable suspension place and get them to modify the length of the strut tube to suit the dampers you select to use.
  17. Thats about 45mm lower than mine in the rear, and maybe 30mm lower at the front. I don't know if I could go any lower with the way our roads are. I bet you're looking forward to those rear springs. My stock springs are ok but you have to run them a little bit higher than you really want to to get enough travel for the soft spring.
  18. I think some people need to go to the wreckers with a socket set and a tape measure and go and measure exactly how long a 3vz block is. By my measurements its no longer than a 4age. Its only 3 cylinders in a line, not 4. Its like two slant motors in there, hunkered down quite low. Thinking along these lines, 6 cylinders, with no firewall work will have its weight quite well distributed on or behind the crossmember. With a simple intake it would weigh not alot more than a 4age. What I haven't checked is the steering rack clearance issues, and how the sump fits. The 3vz does have tidy little factory block hugger exhaust manifolds that point the correct way for rwd applications.
  19. don't do it. You are far better off getting some coilovers made from ae86 or corona struts, IMO. Kit coilovers are usually the pits. Well, d2 are anyhow.
  20. Looks hot. Needs wheels.
  21. Sorry dude, I'm not a fan of cannons either, for looks or sound. I do however, love your car and am pleased to see its getting loved up like it should. I just have a small sports muffler, and its quite quiet. Not pretty though it is period correct for the car which is I think the major gripe with a modern Canon style muffler. All the best!
  22. Ive got one in pieces here. Kouki JDM Diff, with discs. Koyo Bearing Part Number: DAC357245AWRS The discs I got supplied from Japan. You can buy them from http://www.greenline.jp. All the best.
  23. Umm welcome mate, English? Post a pic of your car!
  24. Sunny coast has drastically better roads too in general. I suggest a rather windy trip home.
