  1. Spotted tonight, Moggil Rd offramp. A white levin coupe, very stock apart from mags, and quite straight. Two young dudes in it. With his buddies in a silvia with unpainted kit on it. I really liked the call made by the dude in the passenger seat of the trueno. He looked at my car and yelled,"Whoa, ghetto, what you got in it!!!" I had to laugh. He was looking at my beaten up gaurd, lol. Then I smoked em. Blacktop ftw.
  2. Put a turbo on it. Its already in the car ffs.
  3. Hello everyone. I'm just putting the feelers out to see if there is anybody in the Western districts of Brisbane who is interested in becoming a Cabinetmaker. My business has grown to the point where we would like to hire a young person to train in the ways of our business. If you enjoy working with your hands, have your own transport, and wish to work in a relaxed and friendly envirinment with bosses aged 26 and 23 then shoot me a PM. Our business is located just next to Hattonvale on the Warrego Highway. It takes me 50 minutes one way from Indooroopilly. Its all on the highway with no traffic jams ever due to travelling outbound in the morning, then inbound in the arvos. We are between 25 and 30 minutes drive from Ipswich depending on where you are in Ipswich. Its a pretty standard commute time but its all cruising on the highway therefore easy on fuel!! Anyhow, we do kitchens, bathrooms, shops, offices, wardrobes, entertainment units, car audio boxes, doctors surgerys, basically anything we like as far as work goes. If you are young, energetic, good with your hands and want to work in a Corolla friendly environment with young car enthusiast employers, please shoot me a PM. Matt
  4. I saw this car as it was a work in progress. Its amazing. He has made so much space under there. 205/50 is a pretty decent rolling diameter to slam like that, and at that offset on an 8 its even more amazing. Legal too, its under the gaurds. My only question is, when you gonna make some moulds and start glassing these? I reckon there would be a few dozen takers.
  5. Id rather have a 4age atmo than an sr20 atmo any day. Revs ftw.
  6. Welcome to rollaclub. don't mind these boys, people just call it like it is most days. Have a good read and search on rollaclub, see what you can do with her. I notice there is no 5 speed there in the wish list. Stoked on the auto? What are you building it for exactly? What engine are you thinking about? What are you thinking about doing with the suspension setup? First of all, are you building a cruiser or a racer?
  7. Not a bad idea, as long as you realise that you need all the same hard to find parts to complete this conversion. So these parts must be hard to find, especially when you arent looking. Anyhow, build a tough k motor, raise the compression, cam regrind, bigger carby, extractors and exhaust, ooh shit I just spent 1200 dollars. I coulda had a 4age. There are parts for sale, you just need to master the search function.
  8. Have a good look at the clutch master cylinder and the slave. I'm assuming you bled it?
  9. True, I assume the missus must be a good driver, cause you wouldn't want to bend those.
  10. I was up there today, no spotters? I keep seeing the mintest KE70s in Toowoomba. Tip, if you want to find overrated ke70s, hospital carparks yield very many.
  11. Hes nuts but hes no Dougie. That shit on the bike is hard. He doesn't touch a foot down for ages.
  12. Ive seen that car I think, if its the same guy who had the ae82gze that used to hang with my friend Tucker, who had a Twincam.
  13. The new laws may be some kind of blessing, if your gonna give her an engine conversion. Theres' lots of time for research. You'll have plenty of time to source parts at the right price. Hopefully you could have everything you need ready to go by the time your able to start. That would make for a snappy swap, without the usual comedy of errors. You can still play with the suspension and brakes can't you? You could get the rest of the car up to spec first too. Not a good idea to have a 4ag on standard brakes and cut suspension, with the standard +1 camber they come with. Anyhow mate, I'm just trying to be positive for you, the car is sick, someones looked after it fairly bloody well. What a great place to start from.
  14. ROFL Thats sooo cooool!!! Talk about custom. Wheres the mission statement?
  15. Although it sounds unlikely, its completely possible, but we shall see if the sheet appears now, wont we. Ive heard of high revving 5ks pulling well over 100kw atw.
  16. This is a tiny bit off topic, but I really like the front bumper, compared to the aussie spec ones. It appears to be a shorty. Did any have chrome bumpers, to suit that front end, in South Africa?
  17. Its gonna be nice with a fresh head on the 4a. How long till an AE71 comes along and you swap it over?
  18. Sick wheels, mate. Love faded 80s gold. Schwing!!
  19. Hes, hearing a large click, but then its not turning over, to me that says starter solenoid fires, so it is getting some current, just not enough voltage to turn it over.
  20. Is it just me, or are those cams f@$ked?
  21. I was gonna say the same thing, but I thought I might seem bitter and to be making excuses, I also checked mine and there were two questions on planetary gears, and I'm certain I had it correct, just had a different interpretation of what 'rotate', and 'turn' meant to the author, Id of thought they would have used the term 'orbit', for clarity's sake instead of turn/rotate when referring to planetary gears. So thats 2 marks I should of got but missed out on. The others I had wrong were all fair and square.
  22. Its only balance that will make it shake, a bad alignment will get you bad tyre wear, which throws the balance out, which then causes wobbles.
  23. Try http://www.trademe.co.nz. There are a lot of old starlets over in NZ, might be more able to find one there.
  24. Look at it from the front, there is a ring of bolts holding the centre of the diff into the housing, count the ring of bolts. If your really stuck I have a loose s and a loose t here I can photograph for you. S and T diffs look very similar, just scaled up/down.
  25. If I were you Id find a good carby tuner and get him to put it right. Then just get it checked once in a while. He may be able to explain the details to you and show you how to tune it. You could also buy a manual which covers the motor and carb, assuming its the stock carb.
