  1. I'm on the nth side, but you're welcome to come over to peruse some of the fleet. I've got the Excel and one of the Corollas here ATM. It'll give you an idea of what to look for, and I can tell you what you MUST look for in a second hand car.
  2. You'll find the $10000 ones are the ones with the fancy DMS or Proflex suspension. $4000 worth of shocks alone. Then there's the rest of the car. The problem with most 2nd hand RWD cars is they need a partial or full rebuild if you want to be sure they'l get through the next event.
  3. Wait for it: Excels. It's taken over from the Gemini series in Qld. Cheap as chips to build and run. Great way to gert into the sport, and can do it on a real budget. As a hint, I can run my Excel for half the running costs of one of my RWD Corollas. Google Excel rally and you'll find their forum. Built cars, turn key ready to run can be bought for beteen $5000 and $10000 depending upon set-up. Mine will be for sale at the end of the year for $7000. If you think they're boring and slow, then you've never rallied in one. I've won motorkhanas with 60 entrants in one. If you're interested NDSCC are running a club rallysprint at Yarraman this weekend. If you're free, pop up and see what it's all about.
  4. Yes, there were a lot of bored armed forces people in out of the way places who damaged themselves doing the same thing. Some (maybe all?) had telescopic steering columns so you could stand up and drive through reeeally deep creek crossings..... True awesomeness never dates.
  5. Teaching them to blow rasberries is huge fun, too.
  6. Wow! An Austin Champ!! Those things are legendary. :jamie:
  7. Depends on how nasty you are to it.
  8. Youth these days. No staying power. I wrote up a how to on this sometime ago. Buggered if I can find it though. :jamie:
  9. I do the Stiglette's while she's asleep. I could have a brass band behind me and she still wouldn't wake up!
  10. Congrats. It's just the best thing ever, isn't it? My little girl who just turned one still loves sleeping on my chest, and has since day one, just like yours. Fatherhood tip No 43: cut her fingernails once a week otherwise she turns into a mini Edward Scissorhands. ;)
  11. Hi. Regonal areas are not the place for selling items. Please repost here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showforum=11 Ta. Rollaclub Mods.
  12. This is where you need to be: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showforum=86 :P You'll have better luck there.
  13. It's because Vicroads used o label anything that was 2 doors a "coupe". It's not. It's a 2 door sedan. The shape of the rear of the car dictates what it is. Will it fit? Probably not I would say.
  14. Are you talking about a KE30 two door sedan, or a KE35 hardtop. No such animal as a KE30 coupe.
  15. Already advertised. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=42122 :)
  16. Regonal areas are not the place for classified adverts. :)
  17. What type of Corolla? Some have bigger issues than others.
  18. Every states requirements are different. However, for example if you're in Qld you may have issues fitting a front mount due to the effect on the front crash zones. To be safe you would need to have it engineered, and I don't know many that would do it.
  19. Yep, never went on the scales though. However, it was damn light.
  20. Maybe a litlte fat, but pretty near the mark. 20's have never weighed 800kg, I don't care what anybody says, or what "the book" says. My stripped, caged, lightened 25 is 842kg, with minimal fuel. My 55 was about 960kg, with moderate Jenny Craig treatment. Lightest one of those I have ever come across was 890kg.
  21. get used to it. It took 5 months for my grunter to get done. Worth every day of it though. :abuse:
  22. One thing about black (particularly gloss) is that if your prep work isn't top notch, every imperfection stands out like dogs bollocks.
  23. Full stops, commas and general punctuation. I have no idea of what you just said. We do you the courtesy of replying legibly, please do us the courtesy of the same.
  24. Find some 185/60-14 for your pintara rims then. Either that or get some Datsun 13" alloys. They're about $10 each from a wrecker.
  25. ^^^^ Forester's are worth a look, too.
