  1. The going rate over here is about A$400 - $500. You can can cheaper if you look, but not often. This comes in at about GBP150 - 200. It helps when they're a "matched" pair. Have a look on the tops of the carbs for the model, it should say something like 40 DCOE 29, and the serial numbers should be within a couple of thousand of each other. Cheers. *edit*: the one on the right looks like type 31. Now you just have to look at the left one.
  2. *Disclaimer* Lockers are also illegal for street use. Lockers void any insurance you may have on the car. They can make you understeer like a dog in the wet, and if your not a handy wheel man, may send you in the direction of your next accident. Save your dollars and get a slippery.
  3. One "b" in Weber. Like the BBQ. This is about the exact moment in time where having a good search around the forum would be in order. There's lots of good information around about 4AC's, you just have to poke around a bit. :lolcry:
  4. My race motor was balanced,, the thing hardly moved in the engine bay. A k-motor won't let go. I tried destroying one a number of years ago. Involved were a 4K, a brick, and a couple of mates armed with six packs. Brick installed on throttle, valves bouncing, beers consumed. Approx two stubbies later, engine screaming, boys disappointed with lack of action. Jif introduced into engine oil. One stubbie later, toxic fumes and steam eminating from every orifice in engine. Still powering along, although at reduced revs. Finally ran out of fuel and seized solid. They don't tend to let go.
  5. Yep that's what we're talking about. Those blokes are awesome. Screw that for a day job. First two aren't porters. Probably islanders (I'm not real up on bug smashers) Last two were porters. Those things are freaky.
  6. Ooooo here we go..... Kora, 600m, 7%, 5 736' elev - don't overshoot 'cos there is nothing to stop you at the end of this strip... Guwasa, 600m (if you really want the rough erosion at the upper end), 10%, 4 938' elev Gema, 560m, 10%, 5 250' elev - turbine Islander on approach And a few more..... Photo's care of pprune.org.
  7. Yep, that one's gutsy. You want to try and find some photo's of the airstrips in PNG. Some of them are on an 8 degree slope, and you can only take off down hill.
  8. Thank you Slapper. Love your work. :lolcry:
  9. ..... and another thread from a month ago asking the same question.......
  10. Dude, I'm sure in a month and a half, he's found something. And have you considered he may have been talking about rears? Please stop digging up old threads.
  11. Awwwwwww, one photo and I'm already heading north..........
  12. You can see the family resemblance. Welcome
  13. .... you are an angry little man, aren't you?
  14. Fair cop. However, to have an opinion, you need to have something to compare it against. Otherwise you lack credibility.
  15. Dude, you are the person who on another thread was bitching that he couldn't get his 50 hours L-plate time. That limits your credibility IMHO. So tell us in your opinion, what powerhouse is available in the 15K new car market that has heaps of grunt, yet retains all the safety features of the Yaris?
  16. yes-ish. The backing plate holes on your strut need to be oversized and re-threaded. But apart from that, it's bolt on.
  17. Ummm... yes. They ask you to do these things so that you have some semblance of experience before you hit the road, because at this point of your driving life, YOU KNOW STUFF ALL. People have been known to fudge logbooks, but that is called FRAUD, and funnily enough is ILLEGAL.
  18. From memory, you can replace your 3K with a 4K in Vic without an engineers. Somepeople have slipped a 5K through as well. A 2T or corona motor will definitely need an Engineers. Ball park figure used to be a 10% increase in capacity, and it was time to go engineering, but that may have changed. A Corona motor won't bolt in, and a Celica motor needs a bit of work to be made to fit, and is a squeeze in a 20. Gee they go once they're in though, although the weight tends to unsettle a 20. FWIW I had a 1360cc 3K that was in my rally car, but that took a bit of talent on someone elses behalf to become that fat. At one point we were looking at a 1410cc 3K, but that put us out of the class we wanted to be in. A bit of Googling will get you the engine information you seek.
  19. Getting a bit Homer-ish, they could be "speed holes".
  20. Early 20's had drums.........
  21. Dude, before you get shot down in a hail of bullets, let me suggest to you that you perform a SEARCH. In here, on google, in Toymods. There is a HUGE amount of information out there, and you've asked a HUGELY generalised question. Therefore, pop off, do a bunch of research and come back to us with questions such as "If I up the ergotrons to the thronomister on a 4age, will it be as effective as installing overhanded underdrivers......."
  22. I used to use Wade cams, and they were very good, and have a good selection of grinds.
  23. I concur. Excellent photos. :P
  24. I'm sure someone would like the tail lights. It's not like you have to unbolt them. :P
  25. I saw the thread title and i thought that it would never be as rusted as that one in Malaysia that pops up from time to time. I was wrong. Hmmmm...... I had an Isuzu Bellett that was in similar condition. :P
