i was just over there, last week of june and almost all of july. we hired a car in helsinki for 13 days, took the overnight boat to stockholm, drove thru oslo out to burgen, stayed a few nights in skjolden for a glacier walk (http://www.jostedal.com/), took off east/north-east toward tornio, stayed in sodankyla with some relatives, then headed back to helsinki.
i couldn't believe how much snow was still around. we stopped on our way from oslo to bergen to play with a small patch just 15 meters from the road. then when we were heading back toward sweden we drove past a cross-country ski area. some of the snow banks on the side of the road were more than 2 meters deep. i still can't really believe it, when it was 22 degrees outside and perfect sunshine, there was snow everywhere!
i do envy you for having such wonderful landscape (and snow), but i didn't much like how expensive everything is and the 80km/h speed limit.
very nice story and big +++ for all the pictures.
