  1. after all my whinging i can only put myself down as 30%. - 50% due to car and - 20% due to funds of said car will know more next week and even more the week after. (selling cars is the WORST) dF
  2. so you've decided on a 1J bundy after all??! :D as for the battle of the boats..... WATCH THIS SPACE. (or one similar) dF
  3. you should get a ke20 then poz. much more classy too than a 35
  4. if they ruined them, they should foot the bill. $800 is a bloody disgrace!!
  5. coln, i didn't need to swap any of the wires/pins around. my te27 cluster was plug and play.
  6. the west is a farken big area. i was out at watergardens satday morning, but didn't see any old rolla's.
  7. if all goes swimmingly, i won't be taking any of my currently registered cars. pee time then home time
  8. more clearance is always good. but does/will it interfere with the guard when dropped on the coilies?
  9. i was just over there, last week of june and almost all of july. we hired a car in helsinki for 13 days, took the overnight boat to stockholm, drove thru oslo out to burgen, stayed a few nights in skjolden for a glacier walk (http://www.jostedal.com/), took off east/north-east toward tornio, stayed in sodankyla with some relatives, then headed back to helsinki. i couldn't believe how much snow was still around. we stopped on our way from oslo to bergen to play with a small patch just 15 meters from the road. then when we were heading back toward sweden we drove past a cross-country ski area. some of the snow banks on the side of the road were more than 2 meters deep. i still can't really believe it, when it was 22 degrees outside and perfect sunshine, there was snow everywhere! i do envy you for having such wonderful landscape (and snow), but i didn't much like how expensive everything is and the 80km/h speed limit. very nice story and big +++ for all the pictures. dF
  10. last weekend in august would probably be the best (for me anyway). so there's a month between this, hiroshima and torquay.
  11. is this not too close after the Hiroshima Screamer Cruise (last weekend of Sept)?? or the Torquay Car Show (first weekend in Nov)?? i think we'd all need the month between them to save $$ for fuel and to repair all the breaks that'll happen.
  12. sounds interesting, is it available? can you send me details via PM? thanks dF
  13. putting that 1j into the aw11 will be a fun job.....good to see you're giving yourself 6 months :y:
  14. well, i'm having to deal with jet lag...got back thurday night, home at 11pm, bed at midnight, up at noon, still up now. haven't got pics up from trip yet.....700-800ish i think, haven't done quality control checks yet either. not gonna be a fun job :lolcry: went and got all my bits together for the brake upgrade. have everything but my M12x1.25 tap :y: hopefully a more thorough search finds them for me tomorrow, whenever i wake up. i'd write more, but i'm a bit out of it...i blame this thing called "winter" and "darkness", things i didn't have to deal with for 6 weeks!! dF
  15. this is a combined norway/sweden/finland spotted: ke20 in finland 2dr ke30 2dr ke70 2dr ae82 hatch (carby, not 4age) nothing in sweden except for alot of old mercs and volvos....and one ke36 in norway couldn't believe my luck with seeing the ke20, was right up near the arctic circle too  back in a few weeks. dF
  16. last day in the office today until July 27. drove the 20 in with a mate. he loved it! it backfires changing between 2-3 and 3-4, scared a cyclist or two taking off from lights. anyway, expect a big post on the 27/28/29 of July (whenever i get some spare time at work after i get back) with plenty of pics (of either the trip or the neglected 20 covered in filth) dF
  17. i've got plenty of toyota badges we can put on the wagoon.
  18. RT46 is the model, engine is a (powerhouse) 2R. the one you snapped has aftermarket taillights, most likely cos he didn't want to look long and hard for some original ones.
  19. Matt, do you have any idea how rare they are?? While 7k is probably a bit OTT, if you offered him $1500 and he spat in your face, you should feel honoured that he didn't kick you in the nuts then key your car as well.

all too new.....needs moar ke1x and 2x. actually, the less 1x/2x that are in paddocks means more on the road ;)
  22. tailshaft length wont be a problem if you get a 4spd gearbox from a ke30, ke55 or ke70.
  23. thanks Matt. my holidays are coming up rather quickly, so the 20 will be left behind while i'm galavanting around Scandinavia for 5 weeks. nobby will still take it for a spin every now and then, to make sure it doesn't feel neglected while i'm away. i'm hoping it'll rain like all buggery in aus while i'm gone so i can have some perfect 24hr sunny days filled with drinking and dancing. ;) :? ;)
  24. Forum Rules have a look through the above link, paying close attention to 1.3.0 cheers dF
  25. the 2spd toyoglide was also used in the ke30, ke35 and early ke55s, all of which still had the 3k engine as standard. does the year of the box matter that much??
