  1. one possibility it could be is the clutch itself isn't balanced properly. just another individual thing it could be. if you're taking the box off anyway, you might as well put the 4spd on to rule it out as the cause. not positive news i know, but better having a small list of possible culprits that a long list of it's probably not's. dF
  2. does it only do it when taking off in first?? what about going up a hill in 2nd or 3rd (when under a fair bit of load)?
  3. short(ish) update. acquired a 'new' tailshaft from a ke25 at pick-pay-n-go, put it in and now no more vibrations or leaks :y::D:D bloody ecstatic!! have purchased some new wheels which chrisandliz (thank you again) has kindly picked up and will be storing for me while i go OS (as they're in perth and i'm in vic). i couldn't have the partner see them arrive a few days before we leave, as i'm supposed to still be saving my $$$, not buy more 'useless bloody car parts'! :bash: pics of said wheels (courtesy of the seller) went of a short drive today for morning tea, took the back road to Ballan. found some spots for photos. i love the last shot of the cat checking out the side pipe :D dF
  4. wonderful liz :D if you know anyone that can test fit them, ke1x or ke2x, i'd love to see pics, as well as find out if they'd fit on the front without hitting the struts. also, tire size i'm assuming is 205 or 215 given they were on a rotar, which would give the fatness illusion. my current wheels are 14 x 6 with +27 offset, running a 195 on the rear and a 175 on the front ( dunno the height of them :bash: ) *looking for a current pic to upload* had to upload some phone pics from when i got the front tires put on, the 195's scrubbed against the strut :y: dF
  5. will they be able to be adjusted if you choose to go to some softer/harder springs? ie. has the revalving been done so that with the 6kg springs, the adjustability of the shocks is in the middle (not softer or harder)? (i hope that made sense reading it) dF
  6. cheers Adam, if you can hold them until the August TCCAV meeting, i'll grab them from you then, as i can't attend the June or July meetings due to TAFE and holidays. else i'll just get them after i get back. dF
  7. what did the pads from race brakes cost you silver?? and could i call them up and they'll know what i'm on about?? or could i buy the new pads you're selling?
  8. ebay, ae86dc or r31skyline forums...
  9. i've been beaten with the "house-and-yard weekend" stick granted i've done nothing for a month.......i'll do what i can to sneak away and meet up somewhere with you all. do you have addresses and times for saturday? can you re-post?? cheers dF
  10. yes, front guards are the same between the ke30 and ke55
  11. ......and the front?? 12P would be +12 (assuming P = positive) they certainly don't look to have that low an offset. how sunkern are the centers compared to the rim? do they stick in a bit?
  12. well, after a bit of f'ing around, finally have an address. still not sure of times, i'm assuming work hours tho. (9-5) PM sending.
  13. well, i've got news that mty earlt train wont be running tonite, so i'm at work currently on my 4th since 4pm :rolla: i have sport at 7 then refing at 8....will be interesting, esp if i get onto number 5 before i leave :hmm: i might be back in later tonite once sport is finished and i empty the fridge of beer ... dF
  14. fark, i have 6 sets for my 20 and another set awaiting pickup. and i am nowhere near having a wheel fetish.
  15. by 13 wheels, do you mean sets of 4, pairs, or individual wheels? and i'm assuming they're all 4 x 110 PCD?
  16. was it an older bloke? fairly sure he won last years championship in his class.
  17. will this be done properly?? going thru Regency??
  18. :hmm: that's tops! as there's a few of us in bacchus :D i'll be sure to let the locals know
  19. there's a great "discussion" about getting a 4age into an ae86. that would be a good read for you. but quickly, if the car wasn't sold in aus with that engine, it's almost always needing an engineers certificate. moving around in series of engines is a grey area (some say 10% size increase, others 10% power increase). but you can usually get away with having a 5k in a 3k car cos it's the same series and you don't need to modify anything to do it. so, yes, you will need an engineers cert putting a T engine in place of a K engine. man this post was all over the place, sorry. i'll try and find parrot's post. dF do you have access to toymods??? http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31457
  20. you need to read that bit as a whole. i thought that the auto boxes have different yolks to each other, and the manual yolks are different from both the auto boxes. so 3 types of yolks. anyone else have any input?
  21. i hope to hear back from him tonite with an address. i sent a deposit this morning, but there was someone else who was keen for them.
  22. yeah, the holden box :y:
  23. just quickly, i pulled a tailshaft from a ke25, u-series (banjo/jap) diff and the 2spd toyoglide box. went outside just before and tested it against my spare K50. what i didn't expect was it to slide straight onto the output shaft of the K50! i was under the impression that the auto yolk from a toyoglide was like that of the 3spd powerglide (ie. different from the manual yolks) can anyone shed some more light? cheers dF
  24. well i've bitten the bullet and said i'll take them. currently waiting to hear back from the seller. he mentioned both north and south in the ad, so if i'm successful, i'll get both of his addresses and find out what times suit him for pick up and put it up here. cheers dF
  25. great to see this still moving forward. thought about dry-ice for the sound deadening?
