  8. daisy's original 3kc did 382,000 MILES before i swapped for a 4kc that had 175,000 miles on it the 3k used about a quart of oil every 800 miles driving 4,500 rpm on the highway
  9. which lifters are interchangable? i'm pretty sure the 3k/4k ones are, but i'm looking for a set of hydraulic lifters for daisy would i need to change anything to make them work?
  10. my (early) '70 3k was green and my '71 3k was red all the starlet 4k's have been black my '74 2t was red/orange and bubba's 3t was black
  11. no, more like someone was uncarefully shaving layers of my skin with a dull razorblade... i had to lay on my belly, and on day/night 6 i awoke to find my back "leaking" over my shoulders and soaking the bed sheet. the trip back took a day longer than usual, so we were on 4 days w/o a shower and i was feeling pretty rank
  12. how the hell did you get a 7K imported into the u.s.? what did it cost you, and what part of socal are you from?
  13. isn't that a TE26?
  14. all of ours here were bigports until like '75 i have a totally rebuilt 3kc bigport head, i couldn't use it because with flattop pistons i had around 250lbs of compression with dished pistons, you should be able to run it ok f.s. if you're interested, i ran this less than 1,000 mi after paying $250 usd to have it done
  15. ok; so kristy and i went to Kuai'i for our honemoon, and were only in the water for about 3 hours. it was awesome; we were where the river emptied into the ocean. you could see the freshwater mix with the salt water. it was a strange mix of ice cold fresh water and very warm saltwater. anyway, kristy was starting to get a little pink, so i said; "I think you're getting burned" even though she had spf 50 waterproof sunblock on. she said; "you look a little pink, too" but just barely. so we went in......after a couple of hours, we were red as lobsters and in excruciating pain. this is me on day 3.......
  16. i think they are 1.25" taller my 4k was 3/4" taller than the 3k
  17. te70 came out 8/78......and is looking tssuper!!(insert heavy lisp)
  18. i used kp61 springs but had to cut them down they fit right in i seem to remember the te28 springs were the same diameter as the ke18, you REALLY need to send a pm to felix
  19. i didn't mean you were wrong..... here in the us; most corollas were 't' series; they got bigger brakes, rear ends, suspension, engines and transmissions as well as better trim the ke1x here went from 9/67-4/70 the 1970 models went fron 4/69-4/70 and got the 3kc, bigger front turnsignals, bigger side markers and added rear sidemarkers as well you're on target for model no.s, but the "70" models were ke11, ke17, ke18. there were no 4 doors here prior to '71 the ke2x started in '71 here, the 2tc bieng first availible in '72 ("t" series) also there were no 4door wagons until the '75 model year, and ALL wagons were 4 doors after we never got a panelvan, i made daisy what she is. we never got a ke/te5x (other than the te51) it went from the te31 to the te72. the "k" series ended in '78, the "t" series ended in '82 and we only got the ae72 ONE year (1983) then it went to the ae82 and ae86. now this is just for here, but it may be true in other areas
  20. it's cool, but seems kinda redundant. you can usually tell how a thread is doing just by how many pages it has. i give it a 4

  24. celsior?! here in the states we call that a lexus
  25. let me exonerate myself by saying that i have had MANY beers tonite; that said; i first found my first corolla by cruising around on my '77 puch maxi sport moped and found this awesome cute little ke17 just sitting there rotting no rust, no dents, and bad original paint. it was parked right after a full rebuild because the owner had a company car to drive. $25 usd i got her started after sittting 10 YEARS!! and drove her home. she would overheat if i drove her on the highway (50mph+) then i traded her for a '66 dodge polara police car because i was a 15 year old moron and i always regretted it. then i found daisy and bugged the old guy for 9 YEARS to sell her to me finally he did for $1usd. many mods later;
