You are right about the swaybar, you just need to change to the appropriate swaybar, which isn't a KE20 one. If you use an early T50, there is no need to widen the transmission tunnel, couldn't say for the later T50 presumably fitted to your injected 3TGEU. If benhachi is fitting an earlier 2T, it is likely he is using the earlier T50 fitted to a TA22. With respect to the master cylinder, you are also right. Ideally you source the correct master cylinder which in a RHD configuration, needs to be very close against the strut tower. Some TE27's in RHD came with a brake booster, and some came unassisted. Again, it is a matter of sourcing the correct parts to ensure everything fits in. I sourced a TE27 pedal box, engine crossmember and manual trans crossmember to ensure everything fits as it should There is no need to cut the firewall at all. The hard part if not sourcing original parts is making sure you fabricate your engine mounts precisely to ensure you have adequate room, primarily for the clutch and brake masters.

There is also info on here, you just need to use the search function. Most "KE2x's" (or in other words TE21's and TE27's) sold in the US had 2T's in them from factory, and of course Japanese TE27's had 2TG's. It is simply a matter of modifying crossmembers and the engine will bolt in. No firewall modifying required. Perhaps the post above referred to a 4AGE? Of course there are numerous other issues to sort such as clutch actuation and so on, but it isn't hard, and a good modification for the car.

These are the ones I was thinking of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-500-126-CHROME-BULLET-SIDE-VIEW-MIRROR-/200432797281?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eaab9c661 Plus there are plenty of listings selling this style http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item5641349754 You can also get the second style in a clip on http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item3cb2dd8038 If you go to places like Scott's, Bill Thompson Auto Rubbers, rare spares etc, I suspect they will stock something like the last two.

I am looking at some clip on chrome jobbies for the TE27, and also for the KE15 to supplement the standard fender mirrors which are a bit hard to adjust to. Have a look on UK ebay and search 'chrome bullet mirror' There are screw on ones there too, but I quite like the short arm clip on fiat items. Bit pricey though.

Wow! That is pretty special. And have to agree, the colours have really come together well.

Sam is a good guy. Be pretty cool (and useful) having him as a neighbour

From now on, park it around the corner!
-
Don't buy that house! If Sam ever turned on all of the powerpoints in his shed at the same time, he would black out everything in a 2 kilometre radius.

F#$%^n hell! Have you tried Dave?

Yes that Red wagon was still there today. Was pissing myself at the poxy little motor in so big a car.

I'm not a later Corona person. There was three together in a row down the bottom, but couldn't say if they were RT's or XT's. That model looks the same to me. There was a clean liftback there, but I think their an RT aren't they? For god sake, someone save that 66 Crown. Kills me to see it there.

Centre Rd this morning, there is a rough KE30 four door over near the commercial stuff. More interesting is an untouched bigport 4AGE in an AE82 seca at the top of the ford row.

You will need to do some measurements of your existing strut tube, then work out the length of strut insert you need, with or without a spacer of some sort. You also need to work out the stroke you need. Then you need to look around and see what suits, insert wise. And that doesn't even consider cost, valving, fashion and so on.....
-
The answer is you need to pull them out and have a look. Coud be anything in there. But if you have lateral movement in the piston, clearly something is wrong. Possibly as you suggest, an insert with a diameter smaller than the strut casing has been put in and tightened to the shithouse. Shortened struts are a minefield, with lots of possible combos. Really depends on how much has been cut off the casing, and how much travel you need. I have just received some front SW20 AGX inserts I will be installing in an untouched strut casing, with a T3 tube spacer. Hopefully they will suit my application. Waiting on the spacers to arrive. These are vastly cheaper via the US than buying here.

No, it was the princesses under the big hair....... Who inexplicably, failed to appreciate my manly charms. Actually I had big hair around then too, a shocking mullet! Not good when it is red :laff: There is a pic of me from that period on here somewhere, I should look for it.

Hell yeah. In the early 80's, when I was a young lad getting around Reservoir in my shit hot (stock standard) Datsun 1200 4 door sedan, brand new Sigma's were something that P plate girls with big hair got from daddy for their birthday. Have hated them ever since.

Hmm, I think Mrs Bamboo and Mrs Parrot would get on REAL well. I'm on here a lot too, but frankly have become pretty selective about the threads I will contribute to. My interest is tech, victoria, classifieds and build threads. That's it. I have little enough time between family and work to get involved in the social scene. Mind you. it would help if any of my three Corolla's were actually on the road. Then I am likely to make the extra effort. Embarrassing turning up in a French family barge.

Wow great job. I was watching your various threads along the way trying to work this out. Seriously well done condensing this down into one thread for the benefit of the community. Cheers!

Changed jobs recently, and regularly see a nice, daily use KE26 in the Ivanhoe/Heidelberg area on my commute. Anyone on here?

The KE55 I mentioned on 7th November was pretty good. Can't say about the guards & bonnet for sure, but I would say well worth your while to go there first. It was on the other side from the KE35 and 55 that have been there for months

Have seen this thing in the flesh, and can tell you it looks amazing! Awesome job Harvie.

I have a 13 row setrab unit fitted to my AE86. And that has overall dimensions of only 24 x 9cm. And this is run in conjunction with a thermostat take off plate. Think Automotive in the UK (Mocal Manufacturers) recommended this size as being able to cope with up to 180HP under Australian conditions. They work on engine capacity when determining cooler matrix size, and suggested this would easily manage anything up to 2 litres. They were tossing up between a 10 and 13 row cooler. I tend to agree with the other comments. If you are using it regularly in motorsport such as 6hr relays, rallying and so on I would say go for it. For short clubsprints or daily usage I wouldn't bother. Whatever, the one you have is way to big and is only going to cause you trouble. If you go here you can download their catalogue in pdf which has a lot of oil cooler tech incorporated, plus lots of shiny bits to ogle.
