could the drums be oversized too much? they will slowly wear from the inside out, but i'd imagine they're pretty thin if that is the case. maybe the wrong cylinders to suit drum diameter? could it be wrong drum diameter to shoes? ? were there different listings for the jap vs borg diff? just ideas...

i agree with tas ae71, i measured up a celica diff, and found it within millimetres to be the same as *e7* diff. the MAJOR difference i found was the panhard rod mount was about 90mm further away than ke70. apart from that, the housing will fit, but the upper and lower links are slightly off, so the bushes are constantly stressed. ( and therefore will flog out quickly) -dave

i tried removing some the other day. the plastic is very hard to extract without cracking it. i have the proper tool to get it out, but the rubber is usually so brittle it is near impossible. best to cut the old rubber seal to get the plastic trim out. best o luck. -dave
