  1. Now now lets not have this degenerate into a racist slur thread. Rules say: Racist, sexist or other offensive posts wont be tolerated. You may be banned outright. n.b. this isn't aimed at JiP_01 there's a deleted post between his post and mine. And NO Jon you can't have access to the trashcan!
  2. Toll road seems to be the going term.
  3. Have you changed phone or internet providers recently? There are plenty of scammers around and they are more than happy to scam businesses too. We had a scammer try to do my work. Just lucky the accountant spotted it (and he works 50km away) because the deadbeat boss was actually going to buy this shit. Then they wanted me to talk to telstras fraud department about our phone setup...ooohkay then! ...I didn't end up calling them back lol smegem!
  4. I'll have to try and clear some room up top, getting far too crowded and we can't pin every thread that deserves it.
  5. Clubman of some description. Must haul!
  6. Normally, yes.
  7. K50 from a KE70 would be my guess. Cut and shut bellhousing adapter... for a sierra?
  8. Oh haha yea basically. The clutches are slightly different between the two weights of flywheels but will work with any of the K gearboxes.
  9. No, there's a change in flywheels between KE30->KE55 from memory. The 4K flywheel is lighter than the earlier 3K flywheels. Not sure about 5K.
  10. I think its a custom machined piece. I don't think anyone dare machine down a cast flywheel that much. The ring gear will probably be machined off an OEM flywheel and pressed onto this one. Cutting gears is a pain in the arse!
  11. I would classify that as "I don't particularly like my legs" lightening.
  12. Cheer yourself up with some pr0n from Teddy: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=4604&st=990
  13. You can buy the stuff in 5kg buckets through the mail (OK TNT express ...lol). Don't ask me how much it is but :)
  14. I have to mix kilos of the stuff at work. Whenever someone comes into the Lab and sees 3 kilos of sodium acetate on the scales they think I'm dealing Meth.
  15. WTF... Can't be much room for the strut in there
  16. Me too! I got all excited when I saw them. Mostly down around Queenstown/Wanaka area. Good ski cars. Caldina = pr0n.
  17. Check your battery connections. If they're good but there's no power it could be a collapsed cell. What gear are you trying to roll start in?
  18. For an old corolla it wont hurt. If the tanks clean and you're not going to pick up any crap into your carby etc then I can't see an possibility for adverse effects. Modern cars however.... The fuel pump won't like running dry for one, nor will the injectors. Doing it once or twice won't kill them but repeated efforts will.
  19. Top speed aside, just highway crusing with a 4 speed isn't pleasant. You're not likely to nuke your motor but. I drove my KE70 for 4 months with a holden traumatic (auto) and a 4.3 diff on the highway every day. Think ~4300rpm for 15 minutes. A 4.1 diff and a 5 speed brought that down to a much more comfortable 3200rpm. Off the top of my head 4th gear with the 4.1 at 100kmph is about 3900rpm. Find yourself a K50 out of another KE55. Theres probably on in the for sale area at the moment.
  20. We just finished "negotiating" (read: told to sign this) a new Collective Agreement at work a few weeks ago. I found out today that our "spokesperson" was given a raise above the normal rate (even though his job is not entitled to the pay rate) and thus there was no futher negotiations. Kinda explains why he was fighting for a higher yearly increase and then suddenly rolled over and took what they offered in the first round. This was disclosed by an employee who resigned yesterday over a pay dispute (mind you he'd only been back with the company for a few weeks). Totally F U C K E D. So...anyone know of any IT/Mining/LAB Tech jobs out there? And... Should I be contacting the workplace Ombudsmen?
  21. I've been hearing some good results with spool rods but I'm not sure I'd personally trust them yet. I don't think I'd ever touch wiseco pistons.
  22. Probably anywhere from $200 for the cheapest backyard dude around up to something like $500 to remove and replace.
  23. Be careful with the inverter. Its in all likelihood a non-pure sinewave and some laptop power converters don't like the psuedo sine wave lower end inverters put out. Some work just fine some go up in smoke. Id try it without the laptop connected first. Power bricks are cheaper than laptops (Although the Asus Eee comes close to some!)
