  1. Skinny, old, worn out, cross-ply tyres help too!!! :D
  2. One of my mates is looking for a Corolla RWD for his wife to hillclimb!! Doesn't have to be anything special, but not a rusty old shell either!! Looking up to a grand. Anyone with suggestions, feel free to PM me!! Cash is waiting!! :)
  3. Saw that "pink bus" in Davey street yesterday. He did laps of the round about, we exchanged thumbs up, then went down Lynton ave. The front grille with "Toyota" sprayed onto the mesh looks pretty cool indeed!!
  4. Flowers... Not stars, I believe. :) As the "Corolla" is part of a flower, I reckon the 'stars' are actually flowers.
  5. Si, Rob told me you bought the lot!! Let me know when you are finished getting all the parts you need, as there may be still a few left that I need!! 1/4 finished 35... Umm... No thanks :jamie: I've waited WAY too long to get the van straight again!! The drift camber (6 degrees negative!!) was way too unruly, and damn dangerous!! Talk about turn in!! ;) The 2 deg neg it has now is pretty close to spot on... The grille badge is gloss black, the grille is matt. Once the gloss hardens properly, I will scratch some of it away to reveal the chrome '3 flowers' and the 'C' on the badge!! Now, unfortunately, $$ denotes how long the next round of mods will have to wait!! (It could be quite a while!! )
  6. **UPDATE** January '07 After 3 days of cutting, unpicking, welding, painting, and general stuffing around... She's BACK!! After stripping all the removable bits... This was how the radiator support looked LH side was Aok... Nice and straight RH was NOT!! Cue my mate Richie... Brilliant mechanic, excellent panel-beater, and loves doing performance mods to cars. Races a little old BMW, which is a weapon!! Chop Chop on the damaged radiator support. After unpicking the spotwelds, we removed the damaged side of the radiator support. Beating the inner panel back into submission... (Note the snatch strap pulling tension thru the panel. It made things ALOT easier to manipulate) Bottoms of the panel were a little rusty, so we decided to weld the good bits of the panel together. Not easy to see now that its all sorted. RH panel is all sorted. Mmmm... 205 tyres are always a MUST for Corollas Welding LH side panel in. All fitted... Needs a bit of paint. Ahh.. there's the primer. Note how tidy the panel beating is on the inner guard. All painted white... ... Then Black. KE30 grille, painted matt black looks the goods!! The front guards need to be colour coded a bit... which will happen soon. We also gave her a tune, added a relay to the starter motor, fresh engine oil and filter, new diff oil, armrests and fresh interior panels (Thanks Jamesrolla), better exhaust tip... and... FIXED THAT MOTHERf@$kING RATTLE!! :jamie: ;) (see earlier posts) She's all pretty nice... Stay tuned for some nice additions in the next few months (You WILL like them, I gurantee!!)
  7. Spotted a White KE1x in Devonport a few days ago, when I was up there getting the 36 fixed!! It had spitfire rims and P plates. The guy driving it noticed my car, and I gave him half a wave Pics and updates of the sexy 36 in the projects section shortly.
  8. My 36 had a broken ignition barrel and stuff, so I put in a button and 2 switches. It was a fair bit of mucking around, but it works ok now... I think the alarm system had something to do with the difficulties with the switch and button install.
  9. Both those cars have been on the scene for a while from memory... Its a shame that they did that to a sprinter, but yeah, it does look kinda ok.
  10. that ranch wagon is the bomb. Driven a Phoenix like the white one... like driving a small house!!! I'd love to build a lowrider/hopper out of an impala!!
  11. I think everyone knows that I hit a rogue DEER here in Tassie in my KE36. All the impact was above bumper height, but it did much damage to the radiator support, bonnet etc. Should be getting it fixed in about 2 weeks (accident was in april...)
  12. I love old skool Japanese cars... Looking at the pics of those TE27s (and the old Datsuns in the background) makes me feel nice in the pants!!!
  13. That AE82 4WD "Conquest" looks kinda a bit Group B-ish... Wow!!! The model from TE37.org... I didn't think they made a "works" 37. The TTE works colours from the 70's and early 80's weren't actually that nice or special... I was going to build a KE30 rally car, and it was going to have the previously mentioned Castrol "War paint" ie, the green and red 'swirls', that were on the late 90's Celicas....
  14. This will fix ALL their problems... http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=...;products_id=28 I know a few ricers here in Hobart who regularly shop here!!
  15. Wasn't the "whistling Pig" the Toyota Celica Twin-cam Turbo Group B car, not the Quattro?? :) McKlein's "Rally Cars" book says that Whistling Pig was the Celica...
  16. Occasionally... It will start. Just keep pressing the button. It is still quicker, easier and less of a pain in the arse to roll start it. But sometimes, its not practical (tho touch wood, I haven't been stuck anywhere...yet), so it needs to be rectified.
  17. I'm not.... Does someone have a K-series starter motor they are willing to sell?? Mine has destroyed all its bushes, and I'm starting to get pissed off having to roll start the KE36 everywhere!!! PM Me if you have one that you are keen to move... Cheers, Nick
  18. I saw the pinkie and a blue KE35 in the top end of salamanca square on Friday night... They were parked side-by-side having a rev-off!! I was going to come over and say hi, but my van was stuck in Salamanca with a stuffed starter!!
  19. On a Turbo Sportivo?? :jamie: I think NOT!!!
  20. ...Unless he looks at where the idea actually came from. Most current BMWs have them, and I actually considered the proper kits for my E34 BMW. But not with the $450 price tag!!
  21. Do TE27s still exist in Japan?? wow...
  22. I changed the LCAs in both my KE30 and KE36. I put in 2 differnt types of Sigma LCAs (one early type, just like a corolla one... and a later type, with a bolt-on balljoint) The early type made a perfect adjustment to the camber being between 1.5 and 2 deg neg. The later type were no good, as they made too big a difference in the camber. I have never looked under a KE25, so I wouldn't know. Are they still Macpherson strut the same as KE30-70??
