  1. Where in Brisbane does Federal tyres? I've only been looking at websites so far but I haven't found anyone who lists them. At the moment I'm looking at either Federal 595 RSRs or Bridgestone RE002s. Edit: never mind, just realised I can look up all the Federal dealers on the Federal website :hammer:
  2. Tridon make a thermostat gasket for a 4K and the part number is TTG42. You should be able to get them from Repco or Supercheap Auto.
  3. I wish I joined sooner! I've known about it for a year or so now. I'm unsure on the restrictor, I think it's 20mm. The 600cc Engine still makes 50KW at 10 000rpm... :blinks: Same engine I'm pretty sure.
  4. WMMH: I finally joined the UQ Racing team! I'm hoping I'll learn lots from all the engineers involved. The 2012 car was absolutely wild, it uses pull-rod suspension up front, push-rod suspension in the rear and a Honda 600cc engine run by a Motec ecu. I looked over it for about an hour one day when it was on display in the mechanical engineering building, was so impressed. Now they are building a new car, I'm not sure what kind of stuff I will be doing for the team but I'd be super stoked to work on the car.
  5. Yeah they are a fair bit cheaper. I only need a pair at the moment so I'd save $80 over the RE002 at the price the local store has them for. Thanks for the advice, I figured this would be the case, hence why I asked here. But I have read that the Z222s are quite good for the price.
  6. Going to get tyres soon, this is what the local tyre shop had for under $150ea (probably had others but these are the ones I've heard good things about). Which would you choose? - Bridgestone Potenza RE002 ($150 fitted) - Kumho KU31 ($109 fitted) - Hankook Z222 ($139 fitted) the guy I spoke to on the phone actually recommended these, said he ran them on his Subaru. If there are other tyres you've used that are great post them up. Thanks.
  7. Did you seriously get this much smoke with a 4AGE? Or did you blow the headgasket haha!

  9. Sick!
  10. Awesome, I wasn't expecting an actual value I was just being a goose. BTW is that sleeping bag in front of your car because you actually slept in that shed?
  11. Who wants to go for a drive to the Sunshine Coast one coming weekend?
  12. Also I don't work on Sundays anymore, when I get my starter motor in let's get some cars together and go for a cruise somewhere, Sunshine Coast would be cool :y:
  13. Don't give me that qualitative shit, I want a numerical value dammit! But really that's cool, I want to upgrade too because sealed beams are terrible.
  14. On a scale from 0 to ∞, how much brighter are the lights over shitty sealed beams?
  15. This is cool man! You should bring it on the 10 year cruise.
  16. ^ lol because I spelt it wrong?

So I ordered a new OEX(Ashdown) 0.8KW starter motor. Cost me $155. I did try to find the 1KW, 1.4KW and reduction starter motors in the database, there were some part numbers listed for AE93 4AGEs but all the mounting dimensions were wrong (the ʞ©$ɟ??). I actually found the part number for the reduction starter motor but I didn't realise what it was when I was looking at it, it was only $20 more, I wish I bought it :(
  20. If you dug this money pit any deeper China would be out of debt.
  21. Ten year cruise is happening, even if it's just me.

^I think a new one will be sub $200 from work. Next time I'm there I'll find out, if it's too pricey I will get it rebuilt. $150 is not too bad.
  23. You could try flipping the centres to get less offset, although you should measure it all up first to make sure the wheel will be usable with the 'flipped' offset.
