  1. I got stoked on this car when I saw this photo: But then I got heaps bummed out when I saw the next few photos of the engine failure. That is so unfortunate man! As Dave said, what are you going to do to fix it?
  2. Flare the fenders, raise the car, get different wheels. Any of these will work.

If you guys recall on page 26 of this thread I posted that I bought a pair of these 15x7 +19 Hartge wheels: Well I somehow managed to purchase the other pair off the guy who owned the set before the guy I bought my pair off. He initially wanted to buy them off me to add to his pair and complete the set, but I refused and then somehow I ended up with a full set! haha so stoked. I'm really digging these wheels :elvis: So anybody want to buy a pair of 15x7.5 +15ish Work Ewing Mesh? They are crazy light 3 piece Japanese wheels.
  4. MX5?!
  5. That orange one.... "That's my car!'
  6. lol, nice! I remember when my friends and I had paddock bashers we would always cut a hole in the bonnet and run a vacuum cleaner pipe from outside the bonnet into the air filter. One time we even mounted a petrol engined leaf blower that fed air straight into the engine, that was a great day.
  7. ^Word! I work for Supercheap Auto, often when oil is on sale at Supercheap we are selling it for less than we pay for it, so keep an eye on the sales catalogues.
  8. If I were doing it again, I would just go to Bunnings and buy some aluminium lengths in various sections, I'd also buy a drill and hacksaw/grinder if I didn't already have one. Then I'd just sit down and figure out how I could bend, drill and bolt all the pieces of aluminium together to make new brackets. I've seen people semi-successfully ziptie their bumpers bars on, so I can't see why you couldn't just make new brackets with aluminium, or mod the original ones to suit the new bumper bars. You just need to have a good look at the original brackets and see what needs to change in order for the new bumpers to fit, then make those changes, either with welding or bolting new bits or metal onto the existing brackets, or starting from scratch.
  9. Alright people, I've done a little bit of research into doing motor sport in QLD. The normal requirements for road registered cars being used in motor sport are: - CAMS license to suit whatever motor sport you're doing - being a member of whatever car club is holding the event - a CTP insurance extension for the day (you call your insurer within 30 days of the event to organise the extension for the day, some insurers will extend your CTP for the day for free, some insurers charge $10. You need to get the extension every time you attend a motor sport event) - safety gear: helmet, long sleeves/suit etc, whatever the car club holding the event specify Also on the topic of motor sport, is anyone on here a member of the Holden Sporting Car Club of QLD or any other car club in QLD that hold motor sport events? I'm interested in joining a car club to do some motorkhana events, I know that the Holden Sporting Car Club does motorkhana events at Willowbank but I don't know about any other clubs around here.
  10. Guy is a hero, I used to see him dancing around town when I lived in Byron:
  11. Or when people making an offer on an item for sale and say something like "I'll give you $900 CASH!" Oh shit really? I was expecting people to pay me in tazos.
  12. I saw one of these in an antique shop the other day: A Curta mechanical calculator, such an incredible machine. I wanted to buy it but it was $1200...
  13. Just the term "fitment" pisses me off. People go to tremendous efforts to get gap between their tyres and fenders to a couple of millimetres, call it "fitment", then spend 20 minutes trying to get out of their driveway. The ʞ©$ɟ is wrong with their brains?! That is an anti-perfomance mod.
  14. I think you guys are reading it wrong, this is the "gif" thread not the "biff" thread.

Either of these would be cool! The only reasons I want the Autotecnica one is because it's ADR approved and I can get it from work ;) I need to test out my twin cam wheel in the brown car and see how it goes first. I only have 2 steering wheels at the moment, one's a twincam wheel (in the daily) and one's some ebay piece of junk (in the brown car) that I want to throw out but can't because I have no other wheel. I lost my original KE70 steering wheel because I forgot to take it out of the AE82 (we were using it to move the car around) before it got crushed :(

So I drove the car tonight with functioning brakes. The brake pedal feels great with the HEL braided lines. The fixed back seat makes the car feel like a big go kart. The steering is great with the shorter T3 steering arms (yes I changed my mind, steering is crazy heavy under 20km/h but once you get moving it is super direct - again it feels like a big go kart). The 595 RSRs on the front are good, braking is so effective with these tyres on. And they seemed to grip well in the few corners I drove, but I really have nothing to compare them to except for the 195/50R15 that are now on the back (Gemstone brand or some shit??), they used to be on the front and they would run out of grip very easily. The things I want to get in the future: - T series + LSD - poly bushes for everything except trailing arms - two more 595 RSRs for the rear wheels - new steering wheel, I'm thinking about getting an Autotecnica Monza Classic like this from work: But it's 365mm, and I'm really liking the feel of the 330mm that's on there now, apart from how flimsy it is. I'm pretty keen to race it now, so if anyone on here wants to hit up the track let me know. I've never done any racing or been to any racing events so it would be cool to go with someone that knows how it all works.

Yeah, this is what I'm going to do. I've got 2 pairs of rails so it's a really quick job. Plus getting in and out of the fixed back is a bitch so I'll reserve it for the track.

No idea on the brand of the seat (which is a little worrying). No ADR tag on it so I can't get a mod plate for it as far as I know. This seat will do for now, it's a steel frame seat and it doesn't feel sketchy or anything. It felt quite solid when I was throwing all my weight agains it to test it out, much more solid than the factory seat. It's also pretty heavy which suggests it's strong (I know this is not a very good assumption to make). I should really get a brand name FIA or ADR seat. I really want a Sparco Sprint, I like the idea of a steel frame seat and they're only about $500 from GSL Rallysport. Velos are ADR, and all the comments I've read about them have been positive. Australian made too! But they're about $650.

Fixed: Sorry I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but I really struggled to read that, I'm sure others will too. Also, I'm really liking the look of this car, but I see what you mean about needing to flare the guards. It must be almost undriveable like that!
