  1. It depends.. They can be long or shorter.. They're base adjustable, Can be standard height or can be real low.. See the threads the whole way up? Mine wind up so there's 1" gap between the locking collars of the bottom and the spring collars.. I have roughly 6-7" adjustment from that alone Unlike a sleeve kit the bottom part where the spindle is spins up and down to shorten or raise the ride height instead
  2. From memory they are the same just ae86 is a bit longer.. A friend in Tas bought the ae86 kit for his ke70 and couldn't find any spinter hubs so he had the spindles machined to kit standard KE hubs, They only shortened the end from memory.. But yeah Golf shocks are awesome, Many different ones around and many different heights. They were oil from factory though i'm pretty sure so make sure it's a gas one when you purchase (If you want gas shocks)
  3. Yeah it's interchangable no problems, Usually everyone just sells them as a complete F series diff i've seen
  4. I don't see how you can get them wrong.. Tack weld the sleeve and test it in the car.. If it's wrong height re-adjust and weld it| If the shock is wrong length and won't be captive put it on the lathe and shorten the shaft and re-nurl the top. I took a pair to a engineer here and he charged me $25 to do both.. Ae86 damper options won't work if he's intending to use standard struts.. The other option you have is switching to ae86 coilovers. You can buy many different types off the shelf. Brand new you can get BC ae86 front coilovers without cambertops for $600 delivered! These are 32 way damper adjustable and base height adjustable so you can retain spring pre-load If you do that you'll need to use ae86 balljoints, steering-arms and brakes though.. EDIT - I've never looked at those drag front runners before in person so i have no ideas what mods you'd need to do to run them on corolla struts etc or what brakes
  5. Yeah I reckon the vynal die iI rubbish. It rubs off dashs and looks like crap when that happens, it's not very water happy either.. It's cheaper to buy material and trim the doorcards yourself than vynal die them
  6. Its the only one ive personally used. Youll need to shorten the struts or make a spacer for them to fit snug
  7. Yeah ke20 coilover sleeves will work as the outside size of the struts is the same for both ke1 and ke2
  8. Don't paint your seats.. We blasted and cleaned mz20 cloth seats in a friends car, painted black with the dye.. I drove it for 5 minutes to mitre 10, got out and my back and ass were coated in black powdery shit, And this was after they'd been vacuum'd and it'd sat a few days.. It doesn't sink into the material.. We chucked the seats out because it just ruined your clothes
  9. Judging from the amount of bolt holes in the top and the frame looks to be F series (Ra65) Looks from the size to definitely be that too. T series is much smaller and from memory has 3 bolts holding it to the frame at the top. Ma61 LSD will swap straight in there, Using your existing axles etc and everything. Axles are same as ma61. Will be direct swap. I paid $200 for an entire ma61 rear cradle with whiteline swaybar, lsd diff and superpro bushed everything.. So i can't imagine the lsd diffs being too expensive
  10. I spoke to literally 25 suppliers about those mr2 shocks.. No-one had them or could get them. Ordered them from Tokico and they turned up being to suit 52mm strut.. Ended up getting mk1 gti golf shocks, Easily and readily available, even from eBay. Search overseas on ebay and you'll find like 1"/ 2" and 3" lowered ones. I use the 3" lowered shocks in my ke10 which is like 6/7" shorter than stock shock
  11. Not sure, I haven't heard that personally.. Do you know if your rear end came out of a 2.0 carby or 2.4 efi car? If it's 2.0L it'll have smaller T series diff which supposedly altezza centre fits The ma61 diff i have now is great, My diff has had 330kw through it for a year and no issues at all. It's starting to get a little noisy now 'cause i've been pretty hard on it but it's never been rebuilt from what i can see.. Never once broken an axle or anything.. There's lots of 1UZ and 1JZ swapped celicas and cressidas running standard ma61 diffs with no issues, Some make pretty massive power too
  12. Any ideas where in Tasmania it came from? I've never seen one on the road but have heard stories of a couple.. We bought one off an old guy down here who claimed to have a factory condition ke17 in a dehumidified shed to keep it perfect. Wouldn't say where it was or show any pictures but.. Can't believe how perfect this looks!
  13. You can't buy them you make them. Look on a website "techno toy tuning" as you're in america I believe? Look under ke10 for a "sleeve kit" which is coilover sleeves and sleeves. Along with this I'd get gas shocks to put in the struts too. I use mk1 golf gti shocks which are fairly short, I'd see what your local parts shop can find you.. Then get a boilermaker/ welder to put the kit on your struts and thats it
  14. Jealous!! Looks amazing Incredible how much better it looks on those new wheels compared to superlights/ minilights
  15. Stock guards would be best.. Make the wheels fit the car not the car fit the wheels.. Factory arches suit this so much more than bolt ons or anything ever would Looks awesome besides that though, Colour looks nice and rich
  16. I think in a ke3x you may be okay, If you were running coilovers it'd be a problem, My cars broke 2 1/2 and bent 2 in 12 months so i switched to BC racing coilovers and haven't had an issue. Also Raptor racing sell weld on camber adjustment kits for the rear end and Weir make a shim kit for MA61 LSD which is direct bolt in if you need either.. My LSD has so much more grip now, It's almost welded! For $200 was awesome
  17. Yeah it's offset on a ke1x, It's not through the knuckle like a normal Ke30/ke70 etc it's on a tab on the side I sold my setup and went ke20 struts with the stub axles adjusted so not sure if i have any old photos kicking around but see what i can dig up
  18. I've tested ae86, s13 and hsd blank cambertops.. none are ideal. The problem is ke1x has such a tiny hole in the strut tower and most cambertops hit this before getting any real adjustment in.. Ideally what you want to do is make a spacer ring to drop the cambertop down around 8-10mm so you can have full adjustment I removed the bolts which hold the two halves of the cambertop together and welded them together. I figure around 7" of weld underneath is stronger than 4 m6/m8 bolts What I also did, If you look at ke10 knuckles youll see the balljoint hole is off centre on a tab on the side.. I had this removed the knuckles drilled to suit ke70 balljoint in the middle of the knuckle like an 86/ ke70 knuckle. Gaines roughly 35mm track and a good 3deg neg camber Edit: Also as brought up above you'll need coilovers. Standard struts won't get any camber gain.
  19. Just wondering, Have you re-enforced the shock mount on the swingarm at all? I personally broke one running s13 coilovers in the back of my Ra65.. Replaced the swingarm and the bracket on the other side bent.. They really aren't designed to have the full force on the little pathetic bracket.. May not be as bad with ke30 as it weighs a lot less but they have the issue with celica gt-s's in the states a lot too
  20. What's being taken off spares car? Spoilers and skirts etc? Seats on the right are definitely cooler if they can be cleaned up
  21. Have bootlid, Glass and headlight surrounds. If you're keen send me a PM and i'll get you in touch with him
  22. Should have most of that, ill call him after work
  23. My brother and i threw out a ke25 bare shell recently after we discovered the front end was very shitly joined on front another car.. I know he has doors etc still i'll ask him if he has bonnet and boot still as they were both quite good condition from memory
  24. Ah rad! If you still have my number should shoot me a text when you're around
  25. Nope? Didn't know you were down here? Would like to have a look at it if you are!
