  1. f@$kED UP!. it's making this god awful scraping noise when i brake. SO, since it's happened, i'll probably get all my pads replaced, and i might need that disc (i think it's disc) machined to get the scratches that are most likely on it now. What's a GOOD, but EASY ON THE WALLET brand of pads, with nice stopping power? f@$king cars, i dunno. i'm expecting this to cost me around $500 at least, since i'll need to get my mechanic to do it, plus cost of pads, plus machining if needed... *mumbles*

Hey All ! Yes, its that time of month again -> ive got another random idea ! While looking down the ports of my spare 3k biport head, i started to think...Hymm...Side draft is good, but theres not too much room... straightner kit for k motor is too much bother...eghhh... *ping* Ah Ha ! What do you get when you cross a 4ke inlet manifold, side draft intake manifold, 2 very nicely balanced down draft webbers, angle grinder and one of mr Dixon's ultimo welding/metal fabrication friends? A verticle side draft inlet manifold system :D ! (cut 4ke inlet manifold in half (middle of bend); slightly pull in the intake manifold pipes for cyl's 2 and 3 …

Not long fixed my non working fuel & temperature guage. It was that little 10 volt regulator on the back of the console. Now the fuel guage has gone again. Temp still working. The float had a crack in it and sunk ! Replaced that with a spare I had but it only worked for a week. Now it's reading constantly low. I have had it out last week, and time has taken it's toll on the simple slide resistor arrangement. As I had this problem in a previous KE55 I guess it is quite common at age 25 yrs. As new sender units are as rare as dinosaurs, and even if you could get one would probably cost a kings ransome, I was wondering if others have had this problem and how…

Right, as some of you know, I'm changing my diff. I was a bit slack today, the moment I got home I just crashed, was SO DARN TIRED, had to just about live on Red Bull for the drive home.... Anyway, eventually woke up and started actually doing some work on the car (note to self, washing car at night with no lights, you tend to miss lots of spots, and the bottom of the car and wheel arches are still covered in mud). Diff is almost out, all I have to do is unbolt the rear shackles and it should just fall out. Anyway - question. The T-series diff has a larger diameter housing, 65mm in fact. The U-series diff has a smaller housing, 57mm. Obviously this is a …

Excuse the crude 'painted' diagram, but heres my current vacuum setup on my 3e-te powered corsa. This is how I bought the car and I dunno if it's right. Can anyone confirm or explain the correct setup? At the moment the vaccuum is coming from the plenum via a large vacuum hose into a screw in/out adjustable diaphram that also screws into the side of the plenum. From there, the lower smaller hose from the dipahram splits from a 't' piece to a round looking sensor thing ( it has a single electrical wire leading away from it) and also to the upper vacuum point on the vacuum sensor on the far left of the engine bay. The lower vacuum point from the sensor on the left hand …

As some of you may know, I've been on the lookout for a 4.3:1 ratio for my T-series diff (and an LSD if I can find one cheap enough). Anyway, as far as I know my diff is out of an RA28 Celica (so I'm told anyway), and has a 3.9:1 ratio. Center is broken, missing bits that should be there. I did count the teeth when I first took it out, but have forgotten now, but I think it was a 43/11 ratio (3.909). Anyway, I was speaking to the boys at Option1Garage the other day (they seem to be the only people I can get an LSD or gears from, everybody else seems to talk a lot and not deliver), and they had a Cusco center and ring gear. Ring gear out of a 4.3:1 ratio, 43 tee…

Hey all Just a question about valve springs in K motors, (could be in other motors as well) I have seen some valve springs which look like '2' springs intertwined into one, is this just a cheap way to make valve springs extra strong ? or is there some sort of other explanation for this? My dad mentioned to me the other day (he flies ultralights and stuff) that most airplanes use rethreaded tyres, apparently there's some "property" about them that makes them favourable to use rather than brand new tyres... He didn't know why though. Is there any truth to this? If so, what is it about them that makes them a more preferred choice? On a sidenote, have just gotten some Hankook Ventus HRII tyres on the Satria, I'm rather surprised - they're pretty good. As good as, if not better, than the original tyres that were on the car (Michelin MXF Sport)... And they don't squeel as much either. They're 205/45R16's.

Hey all Well, Ive been thinking again with the motor designs, and i thought of another idea. Now, I'm not sure if its considered a 2 stroke..? (see pic) Anyway! My idea is simply a cylinder, big inlet port & valve on left, and Big exhaust port & valve on right with a big spark plug up the top... So, my idea is simply keep the general layout of a cylinder motor - (vertical) but place 2 electronic magnet's @ the top, and 2 at the bottom of the cylinder(see pic) So, basically i was thinking u connect them upto a dizzy type design which can Make the top magnets '+' Positive, and the bottom Negative '-', (piston = positive) - (Dizzy spins and changes positive and negative charge in magnets) So, you have the top magnet positive charged, and bottom magnet negatively charged (and piston is just positive) - its …
