Hi Guys, I was wondering if anyone knows of a machine shop, preferably in Sydney, that has alot of experience with the k series engines? Whilst they are a simple engine that any shop can machine up, I am seeking a shop that has built them for racing Thanks

Just bought a 2006 corolla wagon, pretty happy with it, only thing is when the fan is on and the engine's been running a while the air comes out quite warm. Is this normal? I know for some cars this is just a design thing, trying to figure out if it is worth chasing up...

I am doing the clutch on my 81 sr5 and I need to know the torque specs for the drive shaft to the differential, the drive shaft to each other, the transmission mount bracket bolts, the bell housing bolts to the block, the clutch cover bolts, the flywheel bolts, the main seal shield/transmission gasket bolts, the shift lever bolts, along with anything else I may be missing in my lenghthy run-along sentence. My manual is simply a general manual for corollas from 2tc all the way to 4age and has none of this specific info except flywheel torque. And all I have found online is more flywheel torque specs. Any help is appreciated, help me get my baby out of the garage and back o…

Gday rollaclub crew I'm new to corollas and rollaclub but doing a 4age ke10 conversion and have two different t50 gearboxes and wandering what the numbers stamped on them mean. they have factory stamps in the cast but also have numbers which look like they have been hand stamped. the first one has 3-2 on b/housing and ex/housing it also has hand stamped numbers on the under side 21 spline input and 20 spline output. the other has 2-2 on b/housing and ex/housing 7-1 in the centre section on drivers side and 11-1 in centre section on passengers side it also has hand stamped numbers on several places top and bottom of gearbox and 21 spline input and 21 spline output…

I would like to find some plug wires with a 90 degree plug to the distributor side. The engine is a blue top with factory cover, between cam covers. Would there be any compatible leads out there. The only ones i can find all have straight ends. The cheap ebay ones any good or rubbish? http://www.ebay.com....l8AAOSwvg9XYg-i The reason for this is with scorcher distributor the straight ends are streched to fit the distributor, the 90 degree ends would fix this problem and look better. rob

My vintage x-code 5.6" TRD LSD is beginning to show signs of wear. I've located the correct TRD part number for a rebuild kit--40107-KP611. However, it's listed as discontinued. However again, just because a part isn't being made doesn't mean that part can't be found on a shelf somewhere. I know someone is going to suggest swapping in a AE86 rear and it might come to that...but buying a complete are axle assembly and adding or rebuilding a LSD for it, is going to be big bucks. The 40107-KP611 rebuild kit is listed as being about $150 US. Can anyone lend some advice on how to communicate withTRD Japan or point me to a third party that is good at hunting parts…

Finally got some time to do some coilover adjustments on my Corolla. I installed new outter/inner tierods, 8kg springs front and 6kg at back, then had the car corner balanced after. Not really happy with the ride weight. Just trying to mimic the adjustments. It may have been better if i waited for the new springs to settle before the corner balancing. Lesson learned. Have a good day all.

Ok so there was a member request for KE corolla weights from the old "Qld Code of Practice - Light Motor Vehicles" I have dusted off the old book and taken a few pages regarding the KE rolla weights and some relevant pre/post pages, https://www.pdf-archive.com/2017/07/11/queensland-code-of-practice-selected-pages/ The unlock: corolla These selected pages are for engine swaps regarding vehicle weights for both pre - approved swaps and weight based swaps. Note the page numbers as this is not an extract page after page, its separate relevant pages as needed.

For anyone who got too frustrated, and just asked the parts store to look at each piston, sorry that this was too late. This should probably go on the wiki page. Ask me for the xl file with the data. Not totally finished yet, but what i have done is confirmed correct. Sources: japan-parts.eu (some incorrect data verified by other sources) Precision intl (pictures) Alibaba (good source of cheap Chinese exporters with product photos) rollaclub (images) ebay (people selling new products in boxes with part numbers) JCC Pistons (Dimensions) http://www.jcc-tw.com/en/

OK lads, After fussing with my old and crusty Aisan for nearly a week, I threw in the towel after realizing gas was leaking out the main shafts. A few days later, and I have a nice and shiny Chinese copy sitting on the wife's kitchen table. Ahh, but it looks like some changes occurred in the design. - Top cover of new carb had the fuel inlet clocked 90 degrees the wrong way, and a different thread size for the central air inlet stem bolt. To save aggravation, I just swapped in my old top cover (painted black because ugly). - Circled in green here looks to be a bimetallic switch which is controlling vacuum by some preset temperature. This fe…

Hey guys, I just got a new ke70 (also my first car) I have a blackbelt, the ones with the square lights (picture attached). So the original cluster meter is those without the tacho. I just got a dashmeter with the tachometer. So my question is how do I do this customisation? Can i just use the first two big connectors and will it be safe? or do I have to combine the two small wire connectors to fit into the third plug point? Honestly any help would be great cause I'm very very new to all of this. (sorry if I'm posting it wrong, any tips would be great :D) 1. KE70 2. Old meter with 4 plug points 3. The blackbelt mete…

Hi, Well Today I got bored so decided to work on the sprinter. I decided to install my newly obtained heater controls with good unsnapped control arms. But before Installing it I decided to rebuild it to make it like new  Below is a rough guide on how to do it and what mine looked like before and after doing this. 1. I have a few consoles so start with your best one. 2. Strip it back to raw metal. Use sand paper or grit blast or acid it is your choice. I used a grit blaster to get bare metal. There was some surface rust on the item take this off. Below is a half way shot of the part sitting on a spare gear box. Notice the rust on the right. This was…

I am considering buying a set of extractors from the US for a 4AGE in an AE71. I know that the Jap spec AE86's have the clutch fork on the drivers side of the T50 don't they? And the AE71 T50's have it on the passenger side right? And this can create a few small problems with the bottom end of extractors hitting the clutch slave lines or something like that when trying to use Jap extractors on ADM vehicle. Now I was interested to know if anybody knew which side the US AE86's had their clutch fork on the T50? Hence or otherwise, are their likely to be any issues with trying to fit US AE86 extractors to a 4AGE converted AE71?

Hey people, i have already done the conversion some time ago but was just wondering how much power they can take before they go bang. I plan on bolting a s14 T28 to the side of my freshly worked 5k and possibly running it in the local hillclimb, will the diff and gearbox handle it without too many hard launches or burnouts? any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Hi all, I have done a quick search which yielded no results. As many would know i have put a 4g93t engine into my ke20, i know that this engine is a legal conversion. My question concerns my brake mods. I have upgraded the front brakes to GSR lancer brakes, i have not modified the calipers, or struts, i have however made new mounting brakes, these are made to the original thickness of the ke20 ones where they mount to the strut and are the same thickness as the GSR bracket where the caliper mounts. They are very strong and rather overkill but they are the brakes so i wasnt gonna skimp. The rotors mount the same as the original ke20 ones, only are thicker and l…

Ok folks, I am still beating myself up over what to use for my ignition control. I'm still thinking the Jaycar Prog Ignition, but I've also started looking at the MSD gear because I have spare money.. I like the jaycar item because its cheap and I can get 2d curve control (MAP or TPS) as well as knock sensing. I've been looking at the MSD stuff, but I just can't seem to get that same functionality. Can anyone who has used MSD gear, whether on a rolla or something else perhaps post up details of their setup? Cheers Tom.

reviving an old thread... (split from http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=7353) my 4k just started doing similar things this evening... i heard a popping noise then a bit of a hiss after that, i had troubles accelerating. Basically any time i placed load on the engine i had troubles... free revving seems to be ok, but idle is pretty wierd. when i stopped the car, there were some smoky fumes coming from the engine bay. could i have cracked my exhaust manifold? any ideas what else it could be in my case? head gasket? loss of compression in a cylinder?

Gday all. I spent a bit of time yesterday rooting around putting a sump baffle in my 5K sump, after reading a post about oil starvation issues. Mine's fairly crude, I got inspiration from the LS1 aftermarket sumps down at the local speed shop. I was originally going to run a vertical one halfway down the sloped face of the pan, but this one was easier to braze in. It's got a narrow gap underneath at the back, so oil will still flow through, It's just to slow the oil down as you accelerate. After all it's not a racecar Anyone else tried it with a K series sump? You'll notice I had a bit of trial and error notching the front of the baffle to fit the oil…

Hi All, It's me again with another possibly dumb question. IOn my carbs I have a few vacuum connections, and I wanted to know what the vaccum connection on the top of the carb just below the lip for the airfilter is for. (# 2 in pic) I have one on both of my Aisin carbs on my twin carb seyup. Also Why is it that only one of my carbs has the connection for the bottom vacuum that I believe goes to the Vacuum advance. (# 1 in pic) around there. sorry for bad picture any help would be much appreciated. P.S I don't have as many vacuum lines as the one in the pic.
