Hey guys bought this Corolla for cheap due to it having a blown head gasket so this is the journey so far, cleaning it up and replacing everything on the motor. When I first got it. As you can see she was pretty rough. The plan is to do a budget street cred build. But I want it to be mechanically A1 first. Painted it in primer for the time being. This model came stock with 2 small speakers under the dash and thats it. So I thought about it and decided to run all new wires to the doors so I could run 6.5s all round. Alot of work as you can see seeing as there were no holes in the doors or body so I had to do it all my self. Ran all the wiring th…

Hey Guys, The Story: So I got word through a friend that his mate had a cheap AE71 for sale.... So i told my mate who was looking to buy a car, went and had a look at it and brought her for cheap but had a few problems to fix up, Since it had problems it became more of a 'joint project' on weekends to fix, so this is our build. first drop, the survo to top up the radiator (had a leaky water pump gasket....) filled up 8 liters of water and headed to maccers. History: used to have a 4agte in it, seemd to have a abit of a wild set-up... MODS: ENGINE 4AC that’s been to the moon and back Old shitty sparkplugs No air filter for colde…

Hi all, Recently bought a KE55 Coupe, out of rego in Sydney. I'm 16, Getting my L's soon, and this car will be off the road till i get my p's next year. Just wanted to let you know what i have done so far and plans for the future. So far it has been fixing rust dents etc. . . Passenger door had rotted away in the corner so we picked up another door, and a guard to replace rusting one. Dash pad was screwed so we also bought one off a bloke that was in overrated condition. It currently has a 4k with 4spd, but recently purchased a written of ke30 witha 5 speed in it, another 4k, and doors boot lid etc, which i am currently selling (advertised in parts for sa…

been a bit since I have logged on here but just wondering what the climate is down under for the classic J-tin. Here in the states it looks like the desire is declining quickly. The forum activity is minimum, one of the forums is ending soon. I have a classic 1974 TE27 SR5 clone project for sale and has drawn almost no interest. DO not get me wrong, next weekend is the JCCS at the queen mary in Long Beach and there will be a crowd with 300-400 cars....but these are the die hards. I have only dove into this adventure in the last 10 years but in that time I have seen a change here....very curious if this decline is seen down south or even in Canada. would like to hear…

got this new shopping trolley for my wife + baby (and for me as well sometimes). I looked hard at Toyota Chasers, Nissan Stagea M35s, WRXs, 530i Touring (the wagon) and this seemed to tick the most boxes in terms of practicality, parts prices and insurance costs, and of course potential power-up options down the track. *Toyota Chaser - boot is smaller than the ae112r corolla *WRX wagon - again, boot is deceptively small *530i Touring & M35 Stagea - both very expensive to insure (sometimes over $2k per year), and next to zero easy power up options I got this 07/06 (first reg. 12/06) BF XR6 Turbo with 26,000kms for $23k. It costs only $1k per year to insu…

just picked this RT142 up on sat, should hopefully get a RWC done this thursday coming and if all goes well have rego done by next week. 310,*** km, 2.4 EFI, Very clean interior, run's very well. Paint's a bit rough on the roof and bootlid but no rust except for a little bit (that i can see) under the front passenger on the car body. Will most likely need some parts for it but it's going to have to be a slow project as i'm at tafe full time and work only part time. My plans are (once RWC and rego are done) get some period-style roofracks, roof spoiler/lip, roll the guards and hopefully fit 15 x 8 gold centre with polished lip (not too sure on offset, as long as they've g…

Hello Brethren, Picked this up in my new hometown of Cairns. It’s a 1979 KE55 Corolla. It comes tinted, lowered on Kings / Monroes, with some nice 16” rims, fully resprayed in the original colour of Kingston Blue. It’s got the stock 4K with a 3sp gearbox. First carby I have owned, and first RWD for that matter :hmm: Here it is. I don’t have any interior shots on me at this minute, but will update that later. I haven’t done a lot to it, but I’m in the early stages of planning what to do. I have put the boss kit on it, run a tacho, air:fuel, 12volt, oil temp / pressure gauges. I’ve been trying to track down a 4AGZE/SR20 for it. I might also be loo…

Hey there guys, i only just joined this forum but have been looking around for a while. Anyway, my name is Justin, i live in Tassie and i own a Sprinter. I bought her last year sometime ( i think? ) and paid $1900. Pretty good price considering various taxes these days... Anyway, at first i was fairly happy with her, but i slowly got pissed off with the suspension so i chucked in some AJPS 5 kilo front and 4 kilo rear springs, along with some KYB excel-g shocks. This has made her handle a shedload better, but I'm starting to find it to soft. Gonna be grabbing some 8 and 6 rates soon, but that is still a little way off. I also found the stock brakes frustrating, s…

Howdy i've been into toyota's for a few years now and a while ago i had a '81' KE70 xx i had it for about 6 months and regretably sold it about 2 1/2 years ago to a guy who neglected so bad not even servicing it or washing it!! :) . I wasn't really that spewing at the time as i sold it on to get a AE71 spirit in overrated condition which i wrote off into a pole learning to drift :no2: !! I ended up getting rid of it and bought a AE86 but still always had a soft spot for my old ke and now i got the chance to buy it back so i did :bash: . So anyway I thought id put up some pics of my daily KE. It's a "81" KE70 XX 5spd in orange with overrated interior & a awesome sunro…

Thought Id post my POS rust bucket corolla that I'm going to get working on soon I guess... this 79 sedan deluxe was my aunts she bought a parts car and this came with it, so its been sitting in the woods for about 3 or 4 years so I asked if I could have it and she said yea. and I have a Datsun 280zx(S130 in japan I think, I'm not sure if Australia got them, I know yall have Nissan Z31s which is what my daily driver is.) turbo parts car, so I have an idea of swaping the l28et engine from the 280 into the corolla. it should fit, not well but fit, ive seen tighter swaps but this one comes close. I'm pretty good at making stuff with wood so I was thinking about mak…

broom vroom! edit: should probs give a few details its a 93 SW20 MR2 GT Targa, picked it up Wednesday afternoon. Came with, Microtech LT10s, exhaust, manifold, most annoying bov ever, pod filter, ARC I/C, new coils leads etc, tein hd flex suspension? and some HID lights. its a little rough up close, too low, cramped inside and being smaller than everyone scares me. but so much fun to drive. hopefully be at all toyota day! my brother does photography and will take more pics soon, these are from the seller (the hint is in the carsales watermark ahahaha)

hey everyone i'm new to the forum this is my second AE82 but this one that i have just acquired is not stock like the first. it has a 4agze and lsd gearbox out of a AE101 levin and i believe AE92 disc brakes, it also has had a light blue respray that has a purple tint in the light. the interior has been re-trimmed in blue and white and it has gt gauges. after driving it i just had to have it, its such a little rocket and the engine noise is second to none. it has stock Toyota alloys and standard tires that light up at any hint of throttle its a joy to drive. here are some pics... thanks for checking it out

Hi all. This is my third foray into the world of engine building… Past experiences include 22r rebuild (was supposed to be the indestructible car… my sister rolled it doing 40kph. long story... engine still goes like a dream) and a 253 Vee-ate that was intended for a one tonner, but never made it as I couldn’t find a cab for the damn thing. This time around I am aiming some fairly unique ideas at my KE20, Sherridan. (Sherri for short…) I’ve had her for almost a year, and the stock as a rock 3K is feeling really really tired after racking up 280 thousand on the clock… Time for a makeover! The thoughts so far are as follows… 3K Block Rebuilt/Balanced (co…

I went to the local lowes home improvement store and picked up well bought them out of their Plasti-Dip. Not sure if you guys have seen or heard of this stuff not many people have.
